NEW Classic Ford Bronco: FULL Carbon Fibre + 600bhp
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 чер 2024
- This is the pure electric Zero Labs Ford Bronco Carbon Edition, a vintage Bronco with a next-gen electric drivetrain, and there hasn’t been much skimping going on. There’s a 100kWh battery, 235-mile range, dual motors for all-wheel drive, and a not-inconsequential 600bhp.
The suspension has been junked and replaced with the very best independent gear, the brakes now work rather than lightly suggesting slowdown and every nut, bolt and washer has been replaced.
And that’s not even the special bit. A traditional Bronco would be pressed steel… this one is made of lightweight carbon fibre. But all that attention to detail doesn’t come cheap - the carbon edition weighs in at upwards of $450,000 dollars. Which would make anyone cough.
Top Gear Magazine’s Tom Ford heads to the West Coast to meet up with the creator of Zero Labs, Adam Roe, to take this rather special Bronco for a spin.

I wish modern car interiors looked more like these restomods.
Yes, until you’re in a crash…
I hate the new futuristic leaks
Agreed- sick of all those giant tablet screens. So silly.
@@nathanwabreWhat steel, that has no crumple zone or energy absorption and will just go your forehead instead?
It's nice to see the personality of the original Bronco, I love those lines! The attention to detail in the interior is fantastic!
I just love this design team who know exactly what they are doing. Even it's not for everyone, it definitely excels in its own way.
Even I don't know about the older model before, I still think this is a very stylish modern bronco. I also really appreciate the interior design and material selection.
I love this Bronco much more than I expected. Beautiful updates, classic proportions, and a sleek modernized interior. Dang. I want one!
Good old Tom Bronco, wish we saw more of him on here 👍
450K? 😂😂😂
$450,000? C'mon man, they could have at least given it 1500 horsepower via an a/c motor at each wheel and called it a day for $250k.
Carbon fibre ain't cheap.
So we can have another car/truck with silly unusable power?
@@aarongreen121 actually it's incredibly cheap now. You're not paying for the materials, you're paying for the hundreds of hours of work creating a custom carbon piece.
@@nunyabizness9885 oh right, ok. I stand corrected. I just remember watching loads of F1 docs when I was younger and them going on and on about the cost of carbon fibre. Thanks for that, you learn something new every day 💪
@@aarongreen121google the cost of an F1 autoclave…
Oh great, another half a million Bronco restomod...certainly haven't seen one of those before.
Who took a diarrhea in your coffee?
Hater
@@xavierdupuis8 Plonker
LOL I knew it was going to be expensive, but it's twice the price I had in mind. It's basically RR Spectre money!
@@xavierdupuis8They did a good job, but it’s overpriced by about $200k. The engineering and technology it has, doesn’t justify a $450k price tag.
The interior is gorgeous though, one of the best I have seen. But I would still take a new Bronco. This is a very expensive city cruiser.
Adam Roe even talks like Jonathan Ward (Icon)... Kinda looks like a younger version too. They both make vehicles I wish I could own.
Very nice, excellent craftsmanship.
love love love it! so freaking sick man A+
Props to the dialogue editor on this one!
Interesting, very good job.
This is so far up your street Tom. Lovely thing.
Carbon fibre is the future of reborn/remake classic car. You can pass safety regulation with thin pillars.
It gives me Jonny Ives, Steve Jobs era Apple design language.
nicee but $150k max
because for $450k u could buy a House + one new Bronco + one old Bronco + one Rivian
Not in Southern California lol
@@12TheLegacy Southern California it's a fraction of USA. And USA it's a fraction of the world
There was a lot of things to like about the original Bronco (stock 302 V8, part time 4x4 with locking hubs), I bought a used 1975 model, in the later '70s for $4,500. I owned a '73 Land Rover 88 SWB prior to that (paid 3,500 for it), and wanted a 4x4 of similar size body with more power for the highways we have here in British Columbia, Canada. Don't care for the EV version, or the FORD raised imprint on the tail gate as the original Bronco had.
Wasn't interested in this build when I read 600hp, seems like Supercharged V8 specs i.e. centrifugal supercharged Coyote engine. Then I was pleasantly surprised it was a 100kWh EV. Classic cars with Meh to horrible engines upgraded to powerful BEV drive trains will actually be driven more. Main thing is keeping them driving on streets.
(Obviously don't screw with classic cars with special engines)
Nostalgia is a dangerous drug for 450k :)
I LOVE IT!!!
Looks clean 👌
Cool build for electric but I want twin-scroll 7.3 godzilla with side exit exhaust and prerunner suspension
You can build one yourself for much cheaper than 450k
@@rccoul Very much $400K for the supercharged godzilla engine and prerunner suspension build done to a level it would actually be reliable bombing through a desert. You are deluding your self if such an extreme setup is close to affordable. Sure you could cheap out and build a mall crawler.
Electric classics is awesome
No it sucks.... global warming is a scam and these jerk offs are playing into it all 😢
OJ's get away truck of choice
For the woping price of the car i expect at least a set of good alloy weels, i guess they need to cut costs in a 450 k car😂😂😂
I love those wheels! Modern wheels ruin restomods WAAY too often. Fits the less is more approach, too.
Modem high end wheels get trashed on an SUV. The understated wheels is cool it has enough bling.
The one question I would ask: does it have any part from the original Bronco?
600hp with a very elevated ride height SUV is interesting.
The battery should lower the center of gravity. With good suspension, it would not be too unstable at speed.
Otherwise it would be a very entertaining and memorable ride, lol
no crash it. love it
I like that they are going back to the classics in terms of interior spaces. No pesky screens, actual buttons - there you go
8:44 they tossed out the manual trans and the hi/low transfer case and threw in 3 levers on top of a 'digital' transfer case.
why.. driving a manual was too complex? and what does 3 levers do that replace it? not complex enough I guess.
hooray for the millennial generation this was designed for.
Beautiful
can't wait for the cybertruck :D
Where is the border between new retro car and a resto-mod?
If literally everything is changed, it's more of a retro production imo.
It's cool, but way too expensive; and they really didn't need to make electric
The thing is very obviously designed to be an EV from the outset.
Why not make it electric?
"A lot of our clients".
lol...all 3? Who I assume are also the investors in the company.
Exactly 😂😂😂😂 he has no clients that’s why he’s trying to sell these vehicles on LinkedIn 😂🤣 doesn’t even have enough funds to do proper sales marketing
Back-to-the-Future!
Can't imagine anyone buying this, even the stupidly rich
just speak about comforting, yes go fast, instant vibes am good
Looks like a battery powered icon made w carbon fiber
What materials would the designers use today?
They literally make the Bronco today and its not carbon Friber.
They don't use cheap stamps steel panels anymore.
Jay Leno did a video 11 years ago on an Icon Bronco.
Oh yeah!
Im Good With My STRAIGHT PIPED CROWN VICTORIOUS 😎
When he said $450k, I didn't cough; I laughed. That's an incredible amount of money for any car. I think you could get a small airplane for that price. Wow. Sure is pretty though. Gotta respect the builders!
Almost half a million dollars, but I'm curious if a vehicle like this will ever appreciate like the classic ones have. I'm guessing it won't but if you have the money to buy one it will be cause you love it. Will any electric cars ever be collectible. Will people be able to rebuild battery powered cars like ICE vehicles. Gonna be interesting to see
lol is this a joke?
I am conscious of Momi, she am ourselves Mommie, with the i.e.
4:35 "it can stay serviceable in the next 15 years" as if combustion engines will suddenly stop being serviceable any time soon 🤣
The average car lasts 12 these days then it’s dead. I think they are talking about 10-15 years before upgrades. Their batteries are designed to be quickly upgraded that’s a big theme in EV conversion.
Steel wheels lol
Nice yaught machine
looks like a monopoly token
Lightweight carbon body but with heavy steel wheels 🤔
this is a crazy detailed car that in think is perfectly prices, its al custom made from them and the amount of work in these restomods is crazy.
Can i swap the power train for the cauote 5.0
Mommie with the I.E. love
add in screens
I miss the part above where they said it’s an ev.
I wasted 30 seconds watching the video before I realized the fact and switched off.
Well, at least it's priced so no one in their right mind will buy it, so there's that.... 🤣
It’s cool but it’s more of a show piece with the whole range anxiety thing… perfect for a nearby beach run but y’aint going too far down a trail. Hopefully battery tech improves but it ain’t there yet.
Rich people will buy anything if you put a lot of zeros next to it's price
No airbag?
Nope
You can't legally put Airbags in older vehicles. NHTSA law. Singer, Guntherworks, Icon, Revology, no classic rebuild has airbags.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I can find one of these for $6,000. Drop at 351 in Cleveland and it's. Do some restoration for 10K and be on the road for less than $30,000.
I get it though. Someone has to start the revolution for converting gas vehicles. I don't want one but I get it. This is an innovative and it's going to cost more in the beginning.
Their mission is to be in the forefront of electric conversion early on.
At $100,000+ it's going to be a looong time before that price drops down so the MASSES can convert their cars.
Assuming that's what they want.
Nuce try, but no.
$450k and look at the $50 wheels!! What is going on and why is Top Gear promoting this?! Top Gear is not what it used to be and it's sad because a lot of my love from cars came from watching their content back in the day.
CEO probably paid Top Gear to do this 😂😂😂
BBC doesn't do paid content they would have to legally disclose this as a partnership if so@@Samanthagee714
This is my shocked face seeing what can be done with unlimited money and limited creativity 😐
no terrifying
no hiding new technology, show it.
Daylight robbery is what this is!!
No cops
yes momi, love momi
no firearms
Don't worry this isn't Singer or Guntherwerks, the market on these will soon dry out and "ZeroLabs" or whatever they call themselves will go the way of so many before it. The REAL demand for this kinda stuff simply doesn't exist outside of west coast USA. Everyone else wants a restomod Bronco with an awesome gasoline powered engine, if they didn't just purely restore an old one themselves. Only someone with California insensibilities would choose something like this. So I hope this guy enjoys riding his cool little electric bike he probably rented through waves and doing some stupid dance on an internationally syndicated automotive UA-cam channel, but no one will know his or the companies name in 5 years, if that long at all. Not hating, there are just SO MANY companies that jump on the latest trend that no one will hear from ever again, and this seems like one of them.
Agreed. But I give it less than 2 years 😂
*Hahahaha $450k*
I miss the Chris Harris Reviews
Come on man, the filter is too Mexico. Aint the interior still look good in a normal filter?
I'd rather have Gateway or Velocity
People will fork out over $200,000 for G Wagon but a ford retro hard pass, carbon fiber is very expensive and not really necessary in access
Incredible restomod car for sure. However, without airbags etc, one frontal crash with this car and you're as good as dead. It's the biggest downside to classic/old cars. They have close to no safety features.
You can not legally add airbags to classic cars. NHTSA | National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will not allow it
You had me until you said pure electric. Hard pass.
No es un bronco, es un auto completamente diferente inspirado en un Ford Bronco.
How about find that balance for the everyday man so time machines are not exclusive for the Uber wealthy.
Anyone can build a car for that much money, the people who will make the money for the people who can sell the car and make the car for so cheap that your average man can go out and buy one tomorrow, not in the next hundred years😢
I can get on board with everything including the price except for the range. And im sure the quoted 230 miles is in ideal circumstances. Its a beautifully made car but it needs twice as much range. Anyone mad about the price needs to understand how few of these are being made per year. All the r&d needs to be recouped amonst the handful of cars that will be built. Im sure if they could make 1000 of them the price could be 100k less and as the quantity goes up the price continues down further. I look forward to seeing what this company will do in the future
Its a small truck. I would imagine there a limits on the space available.
On IG - they have steel body versions for half that. This was special edition I think,
Am I in the past and have I gone deaf? 🤔
Christ!!! Even cars have gun parts on them in America.
good thing they didn't start with the price... cus hahahaha skip that video
Beautiful expensive machine.
You need your head checked if you pay 450,000 for that.
Can’t really call it a restomod when absolutely nothing came from the original… it’s cool for someone I guess but it’s copied art, not a restomod.
Pleas end Topgear. It is After S22 Shit…
Real Bronco's have solid axles. This is just another poser that is more suited to the mall than the trail.
I'm slightly impressed but it well eventually become a fireball 😮
On a long enough timeline, we will all become fireballs 🌞
45 grand sure.....450 grand mehhhhh and nope
$450,000 for a car that will remain drivable for "10-15 more years". Yet. there are original broncos on the road currently - and wiill remain on the road.
10-15 years would be before upgrades I am assuming. Thats about the life of a battery before replacing. They have other videos where they show battery swaps
Jonathan Ward laughing 😃
" pure electric " instant dislike
I would like you to explain, in great detail, what's wrong with electric motors.
Saved me 10 minutes
@@Amigafur boring .. I’m old school guy
@@Amigafur electric is cool, horsepower is horsepower as far as I’m concerned, but many car guys (especially ones who really like old school broncos) really like combustion engines and don’t want an EV
@yah8601 congrats, you have earned a sticker
Topgear is dead... ITV Killed it. This is how u milk content :P
I'd prefer a 4cylinder 150hp car over a 600 hp electric one so it doesn't cost ½ million.
Then buy that instead. Nobody forces you to get this.
😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍
They forgot to tell him he was wearing a mic. No need to ne so loud.
It's cool but 450k for those crappy wheels?? Pure millionaire trap.
