If we ignore all the Fanservice stuff, this phase is actually really good, fighting back mettaton by taking the 'Attacks' instead of dodging makes it feels new and innovating for a phase, it's pretty creative for sure
There is actually some merit to it. Imagine the whole game the player and the protagonist are forced by Metta to take out every character in the Underground, and in the final battle the player (who controls the protagonist) has to try and get Chara’s assistance in removing Metta from the player’s body.
