To Everyone complaining about this video and the helpful gentleman who made this… which btw thank you +RomanAutomotive great video absolutely helped a lot! -- A:you shouldn’t be working on any vehicle if you can’t troubleshoot your sockets/ drivers. From first glance I think it’s 8mm or 10mm It could be an E40 but if you don’t know how to troubleshoot what kind of driver to use on your socket set then go to a mechanic foolin with your serpentine/ driver belt can cause serious problems and god forbid it actually hurt other drivers.. hopeful thinking it would just hurt you if u thought that was a good idea. Again thanks for the video helped a ton @RomanAutomotive
If i have a whining kind of squeel in my belt area but only on idle and low speed & acceleration, under 10 mph. Would that be because of lose tensioner? As soon as i go over 10 mph the noise goes away.
I’m curious about your pressure that you’re using to squeeze the belt. Would you say that it’s about the pressure of squeezing a green grape and popping it open? Or squeezing a half a lemon to juice it?? I need to get that kind of information, please.
so you loosen the pulley and there a bolt under the pulley to adjust the belt? what kind of car is this? is this the same for honda/acura cars? Thank You..
I had a new compressor put on now my check engine light is on throwing a P0010 code on an 08 impala and traction control service message on,so I'm thinking beli loose and he didn't connect traction control sensor properly,,??? Any ideas?
I have a question. I was going to change my serpentine belt on an 03 nissan maxima but...... The bolt for the idler pulley has been.... Omg! Destroyed. No chance at a bite on it what so ever I can't believe whoever done that was any smarter than an idiot. Can't get a welderbto tack a bolt. Any suggestions? Is there a way around that. I know I just need to replace the whole deal. Just don't have a fat bank account at the moment. Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated!
I have a mitsubishi endeavor and its making a clanking noise same as last year..it was the tensioner..said mechanic said he replaces less then a year ago..just started doing the same thing..he had also said my timing was off so an so degrees..point is i never saw the NEW tensioner arrive..could he and could i NOW do this myself as this most likely was the issue to begin with?
I’m trying to tighten the belt tensioner but instead of going up and tightening the bolt goes outwards ultamitely detaching from the pulley any idea what I’m doing wrong?
I know it's been a yr so you probably figured it out but sometimes depending on the car and style of tensioner you have to loosen the pulley bolt first then you can adjust using the tensioner bolt once you have it were you want them go ahead and tighten the pulley bolt back up.
God like beastmode I think all you need is a 1/2" breaker bar to relief the spring tension off the belt. To actually remove the tensioner you'll need whatever size socket attaches it to the motor
I admire you that the kids having fun doesn't seem to bother you too much. Kids should be allowed to be kids, but I would be a wreck.

The video fails to mention what kind of vehicle this is
Thanks for posting will try to resolve.
Pointless video for us. You didn't say what bolt you're tightening or size of socket
Was pretty simple mate 😂😂😂😂
I was wondering -- if a drive belt is too loose would that cause car hesitation or rough idle?
I do not believe so.
Your a hero! That’s for sure…

Can I do that with 2010 Chrysler Town and country?
FWIW: When truckers pre-trip we push/pull on the belt to verify no more than ½ to ¾ inches of play. If that helps anybody.

+UBBERTANKER For a new belt yes, but this belt is old. As long as it doesn't make noise.
You talk about tightening this but, but you don't show a close up if the nut..
