Hi mate I would like to know more about them.. I seen them in Neath years ago was blown away.. I'm disappointed they don't get mentioned much.. They have some amazing songs it's criminal
The intro from Graham and Simon is superb! And love it at 6:56 when Graham steps back and tells the boys to cut so the crowd can come in. Sadly, Simon has left us now as well on 16/08/21 and will be greatly missed but I bet he and Morty are having a ball up there, RIP Morty and Simon the Ant
Hi mate totally agree with you.. My Uncle got me into them and watched them in Neath leigion in the early 2000s.. Love mortys voice and couldnt believe Graham skill on the guitar. So what happened they obviously had the talent, the songs are class yet they are barely played on the radio.. Why arent they celebrated more well at least on the welsh media?? I dont understand it..
@@danielera5864 only now seeing this sorry but totally agree with you, they should have gone right to the top, sadly, the music business is a fickle one and its all about getting the breaks and being in the right place at the right time. I probably know your uncle as I'm from Neath and was always watching bands and knew quite a few of them cos I was a roadie for the Karrots in the 90s
I had the great honour of supporting Racing Cars at a Merthyr Festival, and also compering one of their shows, as well as seeing them perform at several local venues. Morty was a true artiste, supported by a great band. R.I.P. Morty, now you will be singing with that great band in the sky.
so many times ive tried not to believe you left just couldn't or didnt want to except maybe...after all this time xx i just hope your happy up there Morty god bless always. ....it seems like yesterday xxxxxxx
Awesome song. The 70's has a lot of so called one hit wonders - probably because of the number of singles sales at the time? What Morty's fans have to accept is we all go at some time, none of us are immortal. Its what you leave behind, children, family, work etc that will define us and in Morty's case this alone stands up as a fantastic memory that will last for so many people and for which he should have passed but felt so proud.
WENT TO EARLS COURT TO SEE BAD COMPANY I THINK 1976 WITH THE SUPPORTING ACT BEING RACING CARS WHO WERE SUPERB YOU COULD SEE PAUL RODGERS AT THE SIDE OF THE STAGE RIGHT THROUGH RACING CARS . RIP MORTY WHAT AVOICE.
Says it all these should of been up there playing their songs on radio 2 like pink floyd etc, cant believe it they were so talented.. Amazing voice . Not celebrated enough in Wales
here here my friend same just found this classic again wow how did i forget it also sorry to hear the lost of the gareth songs like this will last for ever he will not be forgotten R.I.P
Morty was an absolute legend Graham and Morty was two of my mother's close freinds.... Great memories this brings back.... Morty in his shorts and Rigga boots!
We used to buy our whole food supplies from Graham, when he had his shop in Pontcanna, Cardiff. It was called Beans ‘n ‘erbs, then he changed it to Pulse. A nicer, more unassuming chap you couldn’t hope to meet.
Still awesome after all these years .Sends a shiver down my spine RIP Morty.
That guitar intro ……..wow ! And, what a voice 👌🏻 A world class band no doubt.
I'm double gutted, I'm from the Rhondda and grew up withe these guys - God bless you Morti

John Peel played They Shoot Horses on his late night radio programme in 1977 . I was an album buyer , but I just had to buy this beautiful single .

Wow I forgot what an amazing guitarist Graham is ..haven't seen him for prob 20yrs
agreed. He is outstanding, good band but he was 'the' star of the band IMO.
Eric Clapton rates Graham Williams as one of his all time favourite guitarists, and having seen Racing Cars perform many times, I have to agree :)
Great song.

Extraordinary band ... this song knocked me sideways with this when I was 12 and I wish I'd kept up with them. Stupendous guitar.
