The sound is awesome, really cool project. You could probably get away with a brushless esc as well because the dc motors are exactly 120 degrees positioned away from eachother just connect all the negative wires and use the positives as 3 fases. You might get more power as well

This is a great video on how to build a RC model. The links are immensely helpful. I wonder if brushless motors couldn't have been used instead. They would certainly last much longer, but maybe too powerful for this setup?
