This video rekindled a long lost fascination for flying model planes , at 68 I will begin again and who knows maybe some of my grand kids will come on board. Thankyou so much.
I made one after seeing this and it flies. It is the first thing that I built myself. Unfortunately, it was getting dark and I didn't know exactly where it was heading and had it stalled and crashed. Luckily, there was lots of sand that it didn't totaled. A new propeller and some hot glue and will be ready. Can't wait to fly it again. Thanks for creating this beauty 😊

I always use to take my time and construct model airplanes from foam board and fly them when they are completed. We share the same interest. Thanks for helping me make my first RC plane that works! My first plane was a delta wing, didn't work because the wings were too small, then I tried your design but made it 1.3x bigger and tested it twice, it flew both times but I only flew it for 5 seconds the first time and 10 seconds the second time since I never flown an RC plane before. Thanks again for this amazing video!!!
@@pescetv8371 All the parts seem to be in the description. I didn't use any wheel stoppers because I didn't have any available so I just cut out a piece of foam and stuck it to the end of the rod (a pretty bad way to actually do it). But 3 wheel stoppers should be enough for this design.

I bought exactly that type of plane 40 years ago. I built that using all the compartments in your video (these compartments were already cut). TY for reminding...!!!!
After building (and crashing), here's my beginner feedback: The wheels aren't worth the effort. If you do include them, make sure your wire is strong. You should also include some velcro or something to hold the battery in place. Every time after launching or landing my CG would be in a different place because the battery slides.
@@logiknotlogic6586 I used the recommended parts from the video. Flight time depends on a lot of things, including how "hard" you are flying. Just use a low voltage beeper so you know when to land.
@@matthewforan6397 Will a 10x4.5 prop work well with a 1000kv motor? And using a 4S battery at 2500mah will give a lot more flight time than 3S with 2500mah?

I built this one. But I don't have a battery which was recommended by the designer. Therefore i tried various batteries. It didn't fly. Then I calculated the C value (C=flying weight/(wing area)^1.5 ) . Original design is near 15 for my setup with the total flying weight. Then i modified the wing by 2x 20cm pieces to get 120cm wing span. It flew nicely. I used 1500mah 2 cell with 1400kv motor + 20A esc with 10 inch prop.
