I learned a long time ago to not trust corporations. Most of my money is in the stock market and my businesses. I keep only what I need to spend in my checking account.

This was soooo uplifting. I found this channel a couple months ago and I have really learned some things. I am a Caribbean girl ( Lived here all my life). My husband and I have two kids and we will be retiring from our jobs in the next few months in our 30s. Some of the methods in the States don't apply to us, but it doesn't matter where in the world you are living, you can improve your finance if you just stop complaining and be willing to learn.

My intentions for 2023 is to go the course careers route and find out if I can balance a new job with the bethel tech training later on. I say this because I've never been a sales person but I've always been an awesome imitator (rockstar level) in things I have to do but, may not necessarily want to do. I'm almost 50, hope I'm not too old, I have a child with extremely disruptive behavioral issues &ZERO support (no- father, stepdad, grandparents, family, friends, mentors, coaches... no one. Like Nadja, I too have an HR background with payroll responsibilities in some cases. In doing this role for a tech company several yrs ago, I saw with my own eyes those checks that were being paid out to the sales team… $10k, $15k, 25+k and higher! This was on top of about $50k-70k salaries (with excellent company benefits & perks). People on that team, male & females from early 20s to late 40s were all making bank (at their various career levels)! I’m crazy for not getting in it then! 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️

I would like to add that often people do not participate in things that could be beneficial, not because they are lazy, but because they are insecure & fearful. Something that we all have to WORK on. I want to go into tech because I’m intrigued and I always have been since I was a teen. However, I’m not great at math. And if math is heavily involved I don’t know if I could move forward.

I need to look into this course career thing for my students and introduce it to them. Im a high school business teacher🫣 and I just don’t know what the faith of these kids gonna be in this society! They’re QUICK to tell you “I’m not going to college” all while half passing all classes. It’s scary! It’s been rough trying to engage and teach these kids more so now since COVID! I’m just mortified with their lack of care for their education and future. Anyway, that can be a whole show🤦🏽♀️ We need to talk.

Imagine being able to give our children quality education and quality time. Imagine actually having the money to invest into our children and providing balance into their lives. I see you offer Life insurance do they offer these options:
1. A Freedom of Choice Certificate> Life insurance companies have up to 140 days to pay any claim( this benefit pays for funeral same day)
2. Income Protection> How you will survive without your income (this benefit pays your family salary every single month up to 5 years)
3. Children Education Protection> What will your kids own when your gone( this benefit gives your kid's $200k when you die)
Hence to do know of any other options that are beneficial as far as Life insurance goes?

Great interview, especially because these are normal everyday people transferring careers as I am currently wanting to do. My biggest question/ concern is, with all of these tech industry layoffs, how are they all holding up today & how often are people still getting these opportunities right now (+ how long are they keeping them)? Sooo many tech layoffs as of a March 2023… how sustainable are tech roles today? Especially on the sales end (instead of the full stack/ back office end)?🤔
Tech Sales roles are very sustainable. In tech we say “it is not about job security as much as it is about career security.” New tech sales companies are popping up everyday.

You can definitely take the course while you are working but not sure if there are many tech jobs that offer evening shifts. They are very big on work-life balance.

How do you communicate skills to a career field you've never been in? I've tried to switch from event services to financial services and it hasn't worked
Don't give up. Utilize your skills and experience from event services and use in financial services. Look into becoming a vendor for event supplies to event planners. Whatever your passion that inspired you to pivot into financial services expound more on that. Many blessings and success to you.

God blesses you all my loving black people. Okay, I used to work in the school as an ESL teacher's assistant. Due to the pandemic, I lost my job, and boom I landed my first work-from-home since my income doubled and I'm still a full-time worker from home. I'm a single mom and still renting my rent is $1817 nice area near Princeton NJ. Anyway, I have my BA and still owe $80k in student loans and I have tried everything...I make about $5000 to $6000 a month and I'm still struggling. I DON'T HAVE FRIENDS AND TRUSTWORTHY FRIENDS. I'm a go-getter always ready to make it rain or ready to learn. PLEASE 😒 I NEED HELP AND DISCIPLINE TO COME OUT OF THESE SCHOOL DEBTS AND WANT I DO NOT WANT TO BE LIVING PAY CHECK BY PAY CHECK.

96k tech experience people were laid off in the past year. If they were laid off, please explain how there will be room for us inexperienced/new to the industry people will be able to get into the tech jobs?
Those were Big Tech companies, they tend to over hire because of the competition for the jobs at those companies. I think most of these people work at mid size tech companies.
Ahh the disbelief person. Here some tough love. You either going to get skills and level up or you going to sit on the sidelines. So who is hiring? Everyone! All insurance companies have tech and have not laid off. You can look at the NFL, Walgreens, Walmart, Target, kroger, Publix, coco cola, Pepsi, banks, beer companies. At this this point you are not only playing with your life you are playing the ability to help others.
Should you hold a degree any anything specific or you just taking this course and pay goes up?
I work at an Ed tech company that laid people off and we’ve been hiring at the exact same time! I don’t understand it but tech is always hiring even when we are laying people off. Get in there!

I don’t know Amy it seems that most people are profiting by selling their OWN course. So maybe you can do the course then create a UA-cam and sell a course on how to successfully complete or avoid bogus courses.
It all depends on the research you do in the job hunting. Some people land jobs with a $50k base, others get a $70k base (most roles also have commissions on top of your salary). CourseCareers is geared towards entry level positions. How you scale from there depends on the promotions and career moves you make.

@@deboman81 for transitioning to Tech sales? Yes, you can benefit. I know a software engineer that used CourseCareers to transition to Tech Sales and said it was VERY helpful for him.

Black People Reading This** I completed Course Careers. FYI- Vendition offers the EXACT SAME course for FREE. And they will help you locate a job.🚨
They do… however because they work in the best interest of the company (they are paid by the companies) they look to present the “best students” to the company versus people who sign up and have no sales experience. They are legally binded to do so.
