I was getting so discouraged watching all the videos with van conversions where would have to build things because i have no place to build out something so elaborate but this gave me hope that i can have a cute easy set up! Thank u so much!!
I agree! I was going to say something similar!
I've been looking for my rig 3 years now. I own an SUV, I can start today! Thanks
Check out cheap rv living with bob wells! He was so many good ideas and is catered to people on a budget and not this instagram looking lifestyle
Same! It’s so simple and normal. Very little cost and sooo adorable for just one🥰 love it!
You and I have the same thought but after watching this video im so happy and excited to do this to my van because we have the same van thank you for sharing your video
This is so helpful. As a single female I wanted to spend weekends traveling over the summer but I didn't want to invest $$$$$ on buying a conversion van. Thank you
I ttly agree. I'm not ready to give up my brick and mortar home so a huge monetary investment in a build is not on the books for me but I do want to have long weekends away so badly
Your biggest challenge will be weather. Most of the country is pretty toasty. Many states in drought conditions. Unless you have a Tesla with temp control, lol, it's pretty challenging. But look on the map to find cool temperatures, national parks (boondocking), cities(stealth camping). Get a nationwide gym membership so you can shower and workout too...sitting in a vehicle for long hours is never good. A gym gives you an option to get physical exercise when hiking, biking, swimming, tennis or whatever you love to do just didn't work into that days' schedule. Good luck and have a great time!!!
@@missmadasia1085 OH I'll never give up my home here in San Diego...I'm not crazy. But, I do love me a road trip to Canada, WA, OR, ID, NV, AZ, Baja Mexico...you won't regret it.
This is easily doable.
Where is all the stuff kept when she’s traveling? It looks like she’s continually getting her gear from another place then assembling it.
This provides some very useful basic ideas, especially for women needing to leave their current circumstances for safety reasons.
Exactly. Some of the van life stuff is creating artificial needs. this is so practical instead.
For the last couple of years, I've been watching all kinds of heavy-duty videos about car camping for extended periods of time. Then this one comes along and it's all dainty and decorative! Totally visually pleasing for an overnight-er instead of hardcore functional for the month-long trips I take in my Outback. I love it!
I can see comments from people who probably have my background in car camping, freaking out about the things sliding all over. I'm guessing the spices aren't left out while driving. lol
Besides loving the storage boxes, my biggest take-away is the TV tray behind the passenger seat. I was like, WAH?? That fits back there? *As I look at my TV tray right now under my laptop. Cool! 🤩 Thank you for sharing!
😅😅 right? I saw that ,sometimes the Answer right in front of us.
@@chameleon4206 watching this again just inspired me to take a weekend road trip. 😁
@@wanderingheidi Beach trip 🚘
I liked the TV tray idea, too. It's all real nice, but I don't need that much for my planned overnight camping. I'll bring along prepared food and a little stove to heat water for tea at night and coffee in the morning. No fancy stuff needed.
Going Car Camping in a week and this was the perfect video! I can’t wait to set up the back of my SUV! Thank you! So beautiful
This what I've been waiting for. Finally a suv decorated elegantly and gas the amenities an everything in its pkace.I looks like home an I'm sure it will fill like home as well.I needed this step for my Toyota rav4.Thank you.
Beautiful!!!!!
I plan on moving into a van by time I'm 22 due to home life and just needing my own space and I felt so overwhelmed watching all these videos. With all the builds because I'm literally supporting myself plus tso. This is just a amazing idea for the time being thanks.
Finally a build I can actually do! I think this is so cool for ppl just starting van living to see how they will like it. I want a van and I want the most simple, minimal conversion.
Way too cramped
Love the idea of strapping the day pack around the seat back for quick grab necessity items!
This is probably the best and easiest no builds I’ve seen in a while it’s effective and cute love this so much
Wow this is full of easy and affordable ideas. I love how you transform your SUV without having to remove anything from it 💕
One of the simplest, minimal and best “no build van builds” I’ve seen in quite some time! Thank you for some great ideas! Safe travels! ✌️
Maybe “minimal” isn’t the best term for something that includes space-wasting *fake plants,* stuffed animals, the bulkiest string lights ever, and a large, but barely functional decorative lantern. 😏
@@altitudeiseverything3163 yes i was thinking the same too😂
My husband and I did something like this many years ago with a station wagon. I wanted privacy curtains. I used suction cups, fabric and dowels to make them in advance of our trip. This video reminded me of a fun time that now, alone, I could go again. Thank you.
Do you have any way to keep food cool? If so, how?
Remember when we packed it all up for a 3 day weekend, hit the road and set up tents?
This setup reminds me of those adventures
Best wishes for your adventures and really
Well Done!
This way a tent isn't necessary.
I LOVE how she made it just for her.
It is so rude to say she went out and bought new things… some of us take good care of our things and a lot of my things including curtains look new but they are washed and rehung up often. Nearly everything she uses I already have as I have been camping for years. The only thing I do not have is the nice tray over the two wooden boxes. But when you are as old as me you keep everything. When my kids were little we couldn’t afford to go on vacations so we went camping instead. I still have all the camping gear
This is great! You can go from work week to camp ready in minutes. Thank you for posting this helpful video!
What a great, easy set up! I have a no build setup in my truck and I love the simplicity of it all!!
Dawn, yours is the very best camper shell set-up I've seen AND it looks classy!
This is beautiful. I totally love it.
I strapped 2 headlamps at the front seats. They are so bright, I don't even have to pull out the Lucy lantern.
What a cool set up in the SUV! I love how organized she is with her space.
I have an older Santa Fe, absolutely love the model! Great video. You've encouraged me not to sacrifice aesthetics for function on my shorter trips. :)
Nice! My wife and I just got a 2021 Sante Fe and are taking it across the country and back for a month and will be mainly living in it so this is inspiring!
This is extremely cute, great textures & colors, & the lights give it a real camper vibe.
Really nice, and it looks so comfortable! My only suggestion: I'd want to add window coverings around the side and the back of the van, too.
😀😀
OMGosh, I’m so inspired to do this with my CRV, who needs a camper!
Perfecto! Es lo que siempre he querido hacer para no estar desmontando y poniendo tanta madera pesada en mi pobre van, gracias por compartir 👍🏽🙏🏽
You have inspired me to "convert" my Honda CR-V into a camper in lieu of buying a camper or a conversion van. You've sparked so many ideas and I'm very excited about this little project. Thank you SO much.
I have a Santa Fe as well! I barely considered doing this quite often. This was just what I needed to take the plunge. So neat and fun!
Finally, someone who did a video where I don't have to build anything to go camping in my car with! I never thought of removing the head boards on the seats. Thanks! I don't have the tools , equipment to make it fancy. But this showed me what I can do with what I have.
Simple set up and no build in. Thank you for sharing. BTW I enjoy your video with self explain. No need to talk. Great Job.
Nice set up for hanging out at a park for the day. You have some very simple practical ideas. Thanks for sharing!
and not having to drive home after a day at the park! 😉
So nice to see a doable conversion that won't cost a fortune. Thank you 🙂
I'd like to do this with my husbands big car, but we'd need a double bed. So instead of a table along the side length we'd use the dashboard and frontseats of car for meals etc. and just sleep in the back. I'd have to remove alot of creepie crawlies and dirt first though, because he uses his car for all his gardening tools and grass bags.
Your careful placement of your things made me smile. I too like my personal space to be just so too. So relaxing. Thanks for posting😊
I have a 2011 Santa Fe in great condition, with low mileage, and this gives me hope for having a weekend camper! Thank you so much!
Absolutely beautiful. I would not have the patience to set all that up and undo it but if I was living in that that would be super cool! My van is in the shop getting an engine it is a 2010 handicap Dodge grand Caravan so no stolen go seating and the wheelchair takes up the center of the van so it will be a challenge to get everything I want in it for my travels. (disabled senior gal here that travels with three Chihuahuas) However your cute build gave me some wonderful ideas! I just wish you would have talked during the video. Absolutely gorgeous!
I enjoyed watching the (non) build step by step, gives me more ideas and makes me feel like I can do it too 🥰
You can do it! haha 👍👍👍
Nice job! Very well done, not only your simple build but how you presented it too! Great ideas for weekend getaways!
Finally a real no-build suv! Thanks for the ideas!
I don't even know how to drive yet. I tried once and decided not to bother again but I love the idea of having a camper. I now have a concrete reason to try again
I love it! It is so easy when you have the right things and know how you put them together. Thank you, thank you.
Beautiful Santa Fe. I had a white 2003 Santa Fe. They've really upgraded them through the years. Beautiful camper set up as well.
Charming. You might consider getting a roll of that "sticky matting" to place under the items on your shelf/counter so they won't slide around when the van is in motion. 😉
Won't stop them flying into her head in an accident though......
Watch the video. You’ll see that she did not set up any of this until she was parked. It’s inconceivable that she drives with these items loosely placed.
@@acricucci9760 it's not inconceivable, people do stupid stuff all the time.
Some people use Velcro to easily place and remove objects that could slide around while driving
The items go inside the crates when the SUV is in motion.
Oh my gosh!!! This is it!!! I have watched sooo many videos about converting this and that.... listened to alll of the stories... Al I needed was this! Yeah, fits my bill!!! Thanks!
Great ideas, I have a Honda CRV and love camping so this is perfect. Thank you for the inspiration. I am on it now!,
I love this! You’ve made a very pretty, clean, and organized spot for yourself. Thank you for showing how it went together. Those mini paper lantern solar lights are brilliant. Great job. This inspires me 😊
Love this! Just looked at vans/rv ‘s today! Too expensive! I’m going to do this to my suv. Thank you for sharing!❤️
Loving this! I own a 2020 outlander sport and im thinking of doing something like this!!
6:00 cozy room !!! Home Sweet Home !!!
Nice set up! Thanks for the inspo. We’re into camping and been wanting to sleep in the car while camping. Keep safe!
Awesome job with this conversion!
Very simple and functional.👌
Love those wooden boxes!
I wish you to have great memories with your micro camper!
you just made my life i really want to camp and you got the solution in sure i have most of these things
I have been saving all my money to convert my van as a camper but is too much money, but now I have the right model for my SUV that doesn’t require much money just a touch of love and exquisite touch!!
We just purchased a 22 Kia Sorento hybrid....we love to travel and usually sleep in the car for 1 day of travel. This is a great idea and we are so ready to get back on the road.
Love what you did. It’s cozy and won’t break the bank. It’s a good way to see how you like trips or living on the road. Thank you.
I can see more people getting out there for at least weekend getaways with this easy and attractive setup. I like that you can cook and sleep comfortably
Very pretty!! And simple to do. My only questions is, what about window coverings for privacy?
Amazon has those mosquito nets to wrap around the car windows. They are black out pretty well. A few of those plus a sun shade cover for the front would do the work.
I use a thin foam board from craft store may have to cut corners for some windows. Put reflective panels facing outside to keep heat out. Just remove the ones on passenger side when driving. They sell for $1.99 in craft store.
My 2015 Santa Fe has the retractable sun shades.
My Santa Fe has retractable shades. Which are see through. I added privacy magnetic covers from Amazon. At night I use 2 sun visors on the from and back
Excellent choices for your car camp. You picked functional, yet stylish, items for a modern and cozy feel. Not cluttered, love that, set up very much like you own Chevrolet Classic Conversion Van with the EXPLOYER Company package. That design is perfect for those of us who value minimalist yet comfy.
I'm very drawn to this nomadic, minimalistic lifestyle. After decades in the race, I'm done. I can easily see myself doing this.
Thanks for making the vid. Great setup you have.
Thank you - this is wonderful! I already have all this so I just need a vehicle more like yours!
Awesome, simple yet nice and cozy, you gave me some great ideas for my TrailBlazer
Thank you, this is so doable and aesthetic! Great job with going to the point too!
We use our Disco for sleeping in when camping and just take the back seats out and put boards down and a blow up mattress. It's my husband's work vehicle so has to function as a car most of the time. Everything is removable, but it works well as a camper when needed. Love watching the videos too but agree, would like to see more like this.
Que bonito, ordenado y limpio, dan ganas de salir así a recorrer mi hermoso país...gracias por tus maravillosas ideas!! ❣️😘
something simple unique and authentic. no silly blocks of wood takin whole space. lovely
I am going camping solo in 2 weeks and Love your ideas. yay definitely doing this in my hrv
This is such a great layout! It’s spacious but includes everything you need within reach. This inspired me for my upcoming car camping trip :D
This is wonderful. It's also a great idea for setting up a shady spot to relax, have a snack and read a book when visiting the beach! Thank you!
SOOOO INSPIRING!!! THANK YOU!! Definetly going to do something like this
Thank you, oh my, I am so doing this!
Muito lindo! Que boa ideia, sem ter que fazer grandes adaptações no carro
Thank you so much, great video. This is perfect my kids are grown & husband passed away. It’s just the fog & I for a great adventure to visit places I always wanted to go !
Yes, I have a Rave 4 and this is what I want to start out doing. I am on disability with MS and next year I am going on the road straight to the Florida Keys…. This is all I need.
❤️ The fanny pack is such a genius idea! ❤️
I really needed to see this, I've felt so much stress on how to "build out" my van.
Great setup, great video! You somehow manage to make an SUV look even bigger and prettily decorated as well.
This is ridiculously awesome. Thank you for sharing and giving me ideas!
Exactly what I was looking for!!!! I have the Hyundai Tucson and wanted to see if it would work...thanks!!
You have a lot of good ideas. I have an SUV as well and because I am alone I took out all the seats except the front two. This gives you more headroom. The hardest part is sleeping with your food boxes in the back but that is necessary. In parks, you can't leave food out to attract bears. 🐻
I LOVE THIS! Thank you so much for sharing!
Heck I’m gonna try some of these ideas on a smaller scale since it’s going to be in the venue thanks for the video and the ideas
You gave me some great ideas from this video!! Thank you!!❤
i love the simplicity, other people invest thousands of dollars for their complicated set ups!
WOW!! Fantastic, you have thought of everything. Absolutely love it and keen to try with my own suv. Thanks for sharing!
Love to see you out camping again! Beautiful spot, I hope you had a wonderful time!
Love your videos. Gave me the idea to go camping in my Jeep wrangler, Thanks for all the tips.
Beautiful and functional and easy set up! Love it. Great job!
It looks beautiful but is it practical? I would think she has to put most of that away when she's driving (everything that's not pinned down).
I am looking for something similar, I've been living out of my kia soul for 4 months now.
Such a great idea!! Last road trip we went on all the places we stayed at were questionable.. Thanks for sharing
This is so amazing! I love your tiny space and simple but yet beautiful approach.
I lived in a slightly bigger car than this when I had to.. nice music 🎶 Thank you for posting, with visuals only! Great ideas
Simple and clean, well done. The real issue in car camping, is staying cool or warm , if you do not have climate control without running the engine.
I plan on having an electric blanket plugged into a portable battery for warmth in icy weather, and a rechargeable fan for combatting heat
Love it! I do something similar with my Honda Element. It’s fun setting it all up each time! 😊
Thanks for posting this. You have saved me money already.
Cheers 🏆
What a pretty and clean set up! Thank you for sharing this!
I do this in my SUV too except no sheer curtains. I like your storage boxes. Imo that's a tiny cooler. I always thought my cooler was small but you topped me! You definitely made your SUV camper look cute. I need to work on the cute factors of mine 😃
I love the simplicity of ur video!!!!! U got straight to demo and im absolutely impressed!!! Gonna have to try this!!! Ty for sharing & Happy Fall 2022!!!🍁🍂🌻🍂🍁
That's great for a weekend away. Thankyou for sharing.
Thank you very much for sharing this!
I love the simple set up, now I feel like getting santa fe 2020 even theirs a new santa fe came out! I love the flat form no need to build. Simple and elegant specially the headroom I love it! Can you show us the storage for that comes with that santa fe. THANK YOU FOR SHARING...😊
Great job. Will you pls share with us where did the top on the crates came from.
I just bought my van so excited
