To sing Numb you need to have a high voice And because you have a female singer, it's easy for her to sing a male/Chester's vocals that are lower than female vocals If you want to know more: female sopranos are much higher than male tenors 😊
Chester sang "on the edge" for the male vocals on Numb and most of their songs so he struggled a lot singing them live He didn't go lower in the studio on the new songs and live shows
They played in the higher notes for emily though. It should be the same level of difficulty. I don’t know.. after the scream then back to chorus, it sounds slightly too good to be true. Hopefully it is not a lip sync
If there was one song I wasn't really feeling with Emily until now then it was Numb but she absolutely nailed this one. 👍Loved the part at around 1:50 especially!
Same here. My first impression of her performance of Numb was 50/50. On the first show, she was screaming through the majority of the chorus. Now instead of screaming, she is just singing at a higher pitch which sounds way better IMO. Definitely a big improvement.
It's wild that she sings all the lines on the chorus. Mike and Chester used to trade those, so that there was any room to breathe. Odd to hear Mike singing the echo lines at the end.
