S&B Finishing Powder Coating Quality Control Tests - Mil Thickness Measurement - ASTM D7091-13

One of the Powder Coat Quality Control Tests performed at S&B Finishing is Mil Thickness Measurement ASTM D7091-13.
This test measures the thickness of the coating on the part. We use a Mil thickness gage. The standard range is 2 Mil to 4 Mil. One Mil is one-thousandth of an inch.
Some customers parts go outside the range per their request, but generally all coatings stay within the range.
