Oh, Sunshine! I could write forever on this! 1. think of feelings as emotions. 2. embrace your ability to control your emotions and negative thoughts using your power of choice and habits. (Define habits as things you choose to do frequently.) 3. when you mind wanders off and you have a negative thought like "I'm not having fun". Change your perspective/frame of reference. You did it by thinking about NOT hiking with Captain. Find your Joy. Watching you guys for years, I know your joy is doing once in a lifetime stuff with Will and the kids. 4. Make it a habit to start your walk with the habits of embracing your joy, create an attitude of gratitude, living the dash, enjoying each new day, the colors in the sky, the berries, all of the nature around you (as you already do by imagining animals in the shapes of trees.) 5. Embrace the joy in this moment you are having with Captain. There are no guarantees of another year, another month, another week, or even another moment. Carpe Diem! Peace and Love!

Humor has always been a very important part of my family. Both of my parents were extremely silly, always laughing, my friends loved them. I try to laugh everyday, sometimes you've got to make your own fun. We used to get "looks" from people in store, because we would try on every hat, or turn on every child's toy. We would be laughing so hard sometimes, we'd been crying. Lots of great memories.

Bear story that I bored all my friends with so its your guys turn. Out for a run in the small town in Carbon county PA I live in, entered a park with a short trail through woods. Heard some cracking noises, a black bear was running alongside on a parallel path. i'm not sure who was more freaked out, my trail took a bend and I realized we were about to meet, I stopped, the bear stopped and we just looked at each other. I backed away, and eventually took off again. Definitely got my heart rate up on that run. And yeah, they're fast. You know, now that I think of it, that was fun.
I want to do the thru hike because I am no fun at a crowded party but I am when I’m alone or with a small group I’m the one making people laugh. I hate my job but I’m close to retiring, pay is good and I like my co workers. I’m there because I can & do make it fun. I think it’s our job to make our own type of fun. The world owes us nothing. You have to know your needs first. Sunshine- I don’t think on your worst day you could be dull! 😉
I recently read "Walking to Listen" as well. The author lives not far from me! Interesting book. Experiences are not as rich or meaningful when done by oneself, in my opinion. It is in the sharing that one receives the energy back and without that echo, the experience is just not the same. Sunshine, be confident with yourself. Remember your core values and know in your heart that you are making another awesome memory with Captain. He is precious and this trek will stay with him forever, just like all of your other adventures. Your family is better for it all. Trust yourself in love.
Having a positive attitude helps with making things fun. I choose to find fun in the everyday stuff. Laughing is good for the soul. I have fun watching your videos!!!!!!!!
I'm having fun by traveling and then planning the next trip. I also make sure to see the grandkids which bring me great joy! My other fun thing I do is go out to dinner. I love going out to dinner. I also like taking walks.
Loved you explaining different types of fun. Our family is big on never expecting anyone else to entertain us. We need to be our own fun, then all else is life is bonus. Keep up the great work! Cheering you on!

I have lots of fun with my kids! Taking them to a zoo is fun! Taking them to an amusement park is fun! Taking them to a playground, and stopping for ice cream is fun! So many things that we do together are fun!🙂

We , in fact, dressed up and went to a deli. Compared to others, we were the best dressed and claimed our prize by ordering some great sandwiches and dessert! :-) (2) Stay on the trail with Captain! As the song by Seals and Crofts goes, "We may never pass this way again." (I love that song!) You say it all the time....."Live the dash!" Do it. Go to the end. I can almost guarantee, you'll never regret it. (3) Bubblegum bubbles.......LOL.....Guess what I going to get today! LOL!!! (4) Woo hoo! Mason-Dixon!! Looks like you had an awesome day! Kudos for adding the Captain cameo at the end!
Fun.. yup! When we owned a farm and we had to do really hard labor to fix things are make things better, I tried really hard to make tasks fun! I will say , some of our tasks included pouring concrete. I hope I NEVER do that again!

Started 10 years ago when I left the U.S. Also stopped coloring my greys then as well. Thought it would be fun for a bit and I loved it so it stuck.
