I got a pseudancistrus genisetiger about a month ago, & after about 3 weeks of hiding, it is out all the time & moves around quite a bit. I keep it with shrimps and snails
As a Pleco and Cory fan I loved this video! I just wish I had the tank space to get some of the larger Pleco's but for now its the smaller ones for me.
This guy knows all the scientific names and all the Plecos he shows/mentions are his favorite. I am a big fan of Plecos however the down size is that you rarely see them in your aquarium...
Love the wet spot best LFS in Portland… they take such good care of there fish… I get most my plecos from there. I breed plecos here in the PNW just starting out but I have over 30 species of plecos everything from L046s, L199s, Sailfins, blue phantoms, leopard frogs, etc etc.. great fish store the people that work there are amazing the fish there are amazing and if you are local to the PNW definitely need to go check out the wet spot!!!
This was way cool, thank you! I have one male super red bristle nose pleco. He was gifted to me when about 1.5 inches in size. He is an odd little fella but so cool to see in action. He has the coolest eyes!
Honestly Most Plecos like 76-78 usually Some go hotter some colder but most like that range If you're looking for a pleco that wouldn't be too pricey then I would yoink a clown or rubber lip pleco Remember that most plecos need 20 or larger. Clowns and brisltnose need about 20-30 *minimum* Rubber lip need 30 minimum If your tank is below 20-30 gallons I would try and get something else like some type of loach or oto or even some type of small stiphodon goby If it's below 10 gallons then snails are always a great option! Hope this helped!
I'm not a big fan of all these scientific names and numbers for fish makes me feel like I need a college education to know what that fish is. No one ever tells you the common name for a fish very often.
Thats because there most often is no real common name and just made up seller names which can you get any type of fish if youre unlucky. For example: You want small corys and ask for salt and pepper corys? You could either end up with the small habrosus or worse case with the 5 -9times the size corydoras paleatus. So always stick with the proper scientific name.
@@SpeikobraRote The problem gets exponentially worse when you look at it through a ‘global’ lens. If I want a Green Neon in Germany, I have to ask for a Blue Neon. If I asked for a Green Neon, I’d get a January (or Costello) Tetra. Granted… the German common names are often worse than the scientific names. 😂
@@Toc2023 Oh trust me as a german I know the pain thats why I always go with the latin name. Also there is no regulation in how sellers can name a fish... Like they get imported and if theres no name some make up anything that might sell well. Tho some fish have one single common name with zero variation. Besides... i still think Blue Neon is what describes that fish the best cause I can not see any green in these fish. We have "Red Neon" which is the real proper best swarming neon, then we have neon tetra which is the downgrade of that which is riddled with diseases and then we have of cause the blue neon, no red just blue stripe so.. blue neon! and of course black neon tetra which... is black. Duh. So not all our names make no sense :)
Love these species spotlight videos you've been doing! Next time they get bichirs in, I think they deserve their own video! Thanks for the info!
