Kiwaya KTS-7 has both the traditional uke sound and the subtle, deep but rich timbre of mahogany. Pono has a similar mahogany sound but on a quieter side. Moonbird US certainly sounds very different and quite a musical cannon among the others. Soprano looks the simplest but it is actually hard to let it sing... John King is my constant inspiration....
Being a guitar player I thought I would purchase a Tenor right off the bat for my first ukulele. I found it didn't have that ukulele sound I was wanting. Sopranos and concerts for me. If I want to play anything bigger then I'll just play my guitars.
Ah, the often neglected soprano. I'll be honest, if I'm looking for more depth in the sound of a uke I might gravitate towards concert ukes but there's just something special on a soprano. I often prefer sopranos when playing something with a faster tempo à la Roy Smeck, but a soprano with such depth as the Moon Bird actually, in my opinion, leaves even certain concert ukes in the dust. What a lovely little cannon. Thank you for this, I've been looking forward to a soprano video. Although then again, I already own the last three sopranos on this list so I'll have to find something else to buy. :D
Kind regards, everyone is spectacular, but the kamaka HF1 and the Kiwaya KTS-7 In my opinion, they are perfect, Your channel is very good, Success and health !!
Thank you very much for a well done review ❤ If I buy another ukulele, it would be the Ohana, or a Kiwaya. They look good, and have exactly that sound I like the best.
Thanks for the review. After about 17 years of playing I still favour the soprano, for sound more than anything. I have tried, concert, tenor, and baritone but they feel wrong with the tenor and baritone feeling uncomfortable to me.
Alex, I might finally be in the market for a new uke and I'm excited to order through you guys as I've been watching your videos for ages! I have got rid of my concert and am in the market for a traditional mahogany soprano to compliment my usual low G tenor. I live in Spain though, what would shipping costs be like? I wish I could come and visit in person but it looks like I won't be making a trip to the UK this year for obvious reasons. Is there an email I can contact you on?
It is possible, make an exhibition of old ukuleles and compare the myth that vintage sound is superior, it would be nice to make the comparison and check what the result would be, a warm greeting.
the soprano the only real ukulele.Tenor and concert are just like skinny jeans and iphone the cool thing of the moment. There is no money after the 12th fret so why bother.
I’ve come full circle back to the soprano after 8 years and the tenor as my primary sized uke. The Kiwaya KTS-7 is the perfect ukulele for me.

Nothing else sounds like a soprano ukulele..... Nothing. Love my soprano.
I started on a Kala concert ukulele. I have a Martin S1 soprono ukulele now.

The rebel creme brulee is my favorite 😍

I Like Sopranos! I have an S1 & OXK
The Creme Brulee is my favorite of the bunch too! Would you mind doing an in-depth review of it? Thank you for the great video!
There are 2 other videos about it on the listing.
A random idea but not one I’ve ever seen covered but how about top 5 concerts so juicy in tone and sustain they could be mistaken for a tenor..?
Hi Alex - love the vids. What's that you're playing in the sound tests? Got a Tab, mate?
Thanks for the fantastic video! Where can I buy a KTS-4? I've looked all over eBay and reverb and elsewhere online and they don't seem to exist!
We sell them. They are just out of stock right now. I've been told they will be about 6 weeks.

I have a solid Koa Acacia Soprano. What would be the best string option for that? They came with Aquila strings. Thanks
What kind of sound are you hoping to get that you are not getting now?
If in doubt just buy Martin M600s next.
Thank you for the excellent advise. The Martin strings are awesome. They not only sound excellent they feel much better. 🌈
Where can I learn the song you played and others like it?
What is the nut width of the AnueNue?
What would be the best strings to use for sopranos?
It depends on the uke. If in doubt Martin M600
I think that the kiwaya kts7 has nothing to envy to any old ukulele martin, or gibson etc.
The rebels sound the best.

Its a great video idea but not one we would likely ever have the stock to make.
@@SouthernUkuleleStore Thanks for your kindness, I look forward to more videos, very good. a greeting
To my ears the thinner rebel sounded best, annoyed by the model names though, confusing meeeeeeee
No Koaloha soprano? My Silver Series begs to differ.
I can't feature every single ukulele In every single video... I'm delighted you are happy with your KoAloha though. 😉🙌
Southern Ukulele Store Haha I know you like them
pretty cool pocket/travel toys. If your are 4 feet tall it might be for you, for the other people that prefer real uke sound i recommend tenor size.
