Not to be dramatic, but I think I'd die if I had to draw the same thing over and over and over again in one sitting lol. I honestly am in awe of your motivation to learn, and to be able to push yourself the way that you do. Art block can be such a killer sometimes. I dealt with it a month ago, and I'm hoping I'm out of the woods now. Lol great content as always Rin! 🤩
by the end I was for sure over it, but I think thats what really inspired me. I had such a strong urge to draw literally anything else that...my artblock kind of dissolved :O

Fun fact: When you are having an art block it means that you are "developing" aka your art skills are getting better and when your art block ends you feel more confident with your art

This is so true and I think I’m just now realizing this, it’s like you’re seeing the mistakes in your art and then you're setting out to improve them and in that way you’re constantly leveling up

I had art block for two years, didn't even want to look at a paintbrush. Now I gotta play catch up, I'm drafting patterns for clothing, learning how to watercolor, and prepping for my cosplay 😀
I had an art block that lasted a year and it would feel like torture drawing with my friend and now I’ve got an art style I hope to keep up because I went through a heck of two months when I changed my style basically every day.
Rin: I've gotten progressively worse at drawing feet.
Me: Pft. I wasn't even good at them to begin with. My ability to draw both hands and feet are about as nonexistent as my attention span.

I watched the vid twice while battling with just the horns on a dinosaur I'm sketching (from vague tutorial book on how to draw dinos) lol. So yeah, I'd vote for uncut/raw versions. Your vids always nudge me back to my sketch book but I'm so slow you're always done finished before me and it's too quiet without you talking as you work lol.

I just started taking my first intermediate art class two weeks ago. After the first day, my confidence and inspiration shrunk to nothing! Last night I found a youtube artist who explained the subject in a different way and made it look so much easier to try again. Thank goodness for such an awesome artist community here! I like watching your art journey. It comes from an honest place. Sharing with others that you're not always perfect and confident with your art really goes to show your integrity. Nothing we ever do is going to be perfect, and being satisfied with "good enough" is part of achieving happiness.
I love what she achieves in 5 minutes... if you looked at my just started drawings (so they have 5ish minutes of work) they look like a mash of weird overlapping triangles that could never shape a body

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this video, even if you didn't necessarily like the end result!! So many artists just hide away art that they don't feel comfortable with, and it can be a bit misleading to new artists who make mistakes with their own art. But there's never been a video of yours that hasn't inspired me to draw, so thank you for sticking through it!!!
That dusty pink color you mixed? That uh...what did you call it? Yogurt Grey? I LOVED that color. Dusty Rose is my favorite color of all time!

Here’s something I learned watching this channel, kinda related to being scared to create:
Your sketchbook is a journey, it’s where you have your best and worst artworks. I now never ever ever rip something out or anything like that when I’m not satisfied; I just try again! So yes, there’s gonna be a lot of ugly drawings in it, because it’s your sketchbook, but no, that’s not a bad thing, it makes it easy for you to create and get better eventually!

I was drawing along with this video and at around 22 minutes in, I looked up and literally gasped because the painting looked so pretty. You are such a great artist Rin! Or should I say, drawer.
This is such a great exercise for art block and also shows how sketching and thumb nailing is essentially problem-solving. With every sketch you learn something new or try something different and that's one of the things that I really love about your videos - that you share the whole process from idea to finished painting!
Also is your mechanical pencil a rOtring? I'm trying to find it on Amazon and the rOtring looks the closest to yours lol

Okay I just want to chime in here to say a huge thank you 🙏
18 months ago my husband and I went through a pretty scary time where we almost lost our baby before we even got to really meet her and I have been suffering with the trauma of that ever since and slowly it consumed me and came to a head just over a month ago where I had to go on antidepressants and often though about hurting myself and felt worthless.
So I decided I along with therapy needed an outlet and turned back to drawing. I was having trouble discovering my own style and then found you and have been watching your old videos and you make art feel so freeing and give me the ability to draw and create without pressure and have so much fun with it. As a result I can feel my mental health improving every time I sit down with a pencil and sketch. Thank you waffles❤️ you have given new life to an old passion of mine❤️❤️❤️

I was in a giant art block a while back, and I just COULDN'T draw. I tried and tried but I just couldn't, and I felt like my art was super bad! Then I discovered Rin... And might have watched like 5+ hours of her content 🙊... but ever since my art has improved so much and I have been so inspired!! And before Rin I never sketched and pushed on my pencil WAY to hard, but now I sketch and press lightly. Thank you Rin!! I love you, your personality, your art, and your channel!💕💕

Practice brah, or there are tutorials. I learnt art as a degree in college for 4 years. I still think i’m bad. They always said practice sketching regularly, now i see why. And fyi it was based on observation like live models

As an Artist we must create. Sometimes the results are simply horrible but we can be our own worst critic. If you “feel blocked” you must DO Something! I often switch mediums. Going from drawing to painting, painting to pottery! Switching disciplines can free your mind or even give you new ideas for a different direction back on that drawing you were stuck on! I felt that you were doing your best to overcome your feelings of being “blocked” and it looks like it worked for you! WTG Rin! A video in the bank and once again you WoW your viewing audience, we your fans/subscribers thank you!

The way I see it, there is no true failure in art. I am, what is art to start with? Most people will say it is a way of expression. Well, even if your "color blob" (which I really liked, to be honest!) did not satisfy you, it still definitely has a lot to express. It could easily be considered a different style. A different way to approach those shapes that you've been drawing over and over again. And that's super cool! Seriously, Rin. We all have those moments when we just don't like what we are creating. As a writer and an artist, I get that A LOT. But later, when I get back to whatever I was doing, I always manage to find things that I like about it. I'm sure you'll come to find those things in these drawings, too. Most importantly, keep on creating! That's how we get over those annoying "blocks". Thanks for being so real and sharing everything with us! Your channel is definitely my current favorite! ♥

DrawingWiffWaffles This is very sudden, but does it ever happen when you draw something really good with a mechanical pencil and then you leave it and then when you go back to see it the lead is all smudged up? Do you have any recommendations of how to keep that from happening? Thanks ur the best 💜👌
that happens when the paper above it receives pressures and moves around. you can use hairspray. or put a light watercolor wash on it. that usually helps!
