I loved the digital portion of this! I feel like I learned so much about perspective grids and how they actually work! I dare say it made me want to try drawing a background for once! Thanks, Rin!
Oh the post-it notes with the train is most definitely based on the book Night on the Galactic Railroad! About two boys who go on a train across the universe. There's a scene where a man catches cranes to turn them into candy, hence the birds.
I'm soooo obsessed with the swan as a familiar or pet. That's way too cool and cute. There's this dude on UA-cam who saves little birds or eggs and raises them and they follow him and nuzzle into his beard and stuff and I die of cuteness overload every time. I need a witch OC with a swan familiar ugh I love them. Also damn that perspective brought it all so much more together
I really appreciate how you redid your drawing to make it make more sense on the perspective. Now, it is elevated from a sketch to a beautiful concept art with witchy girl on a magical train! 💕
I really loved seeing your whole process in this video! I've just started playing around with digital art and I'm figuring out all these things as well. Seeing you muddling through different stages of your drawing is incredible, and so valuable. It gives me the courage to keep going just for the sake of learning, and usually you come out the other side better for it! Thanks Rin! 💛
I love the illustration and the idea. Like I always associate witches with cats I never would have thought of a swan but now it just feels like it makes sense!
Hi Rin.I just wanted to write this comment to thank you for everything.I have been watching you for more than two years now,and because of you I feel way less alone in my fight in chronic illness.Because of you I found the chronic illness community and couldn't thank you enough for that.Your like an older sister and a best friend to me.I don't watch your videos that often anymore, since I have not been drawing much recently, and watching art videos has become kind of sad and painful for me,but I still absolutely love you to pieces and thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything. PS I still remember watching the videos of Hyacinth and Sage's story and it was so amazing.I would absolutely love it if you made a video on them this inktober, but obviously it's up to you, thank you again for everything.
Finally spooky season and this artist makes the best way for me to celebrate it!!!! Drawing witches is always a blast especially along with my fav person!! ❤
The train is actually from a novel called Night on the Galactic road. It is actually pretty sad if I remember correctly and is about two young boys going to the after life, The Gumi song For Campanella is based off of that novel
I always love seeing the development process in the sketchbook, but it really adds to the video when we end up with a more finished artwork outside of it ❤
I love the idea of a witchy conductress or con-duck-tress because of her little sidekick ;P That picture seems like it would also be cool to color in and add some witchy color schemes.
The train skicky note pad is based on the Night on the Galactic Railroad story!! I would recommend people read the book or watch the anime (the characters in the anime are cats so it is cute)
I vaguely remembered the vantage point drawings in art class, but I must say, we were not taught as detailed and entertaining, easier to understand than you showcasing your works and how you create them - thank you!!
Your vids always inspire me to draw, and my style is heavily based on yours (NOT COPYING!!). I just love the feel of it and how flowy it is! love you!!!
So cute! It was awesome to get to see you take it into digital so you could really finish out the illustration without being concerned about messing up the original 😄. BTW, if you don't want to have to draw the perspective grid, several programs actually have guides that you can turn on. While the guide is on, all your strokes will automatically lock to your chosen vanishing points. Procreate has a great perspective tool. CSP also has a perspective tool and you can add different vanishing points on different layers. Using that, you can do stuff like the books your were drawing. Since I'm drawing a comic, having the guides has been a godsend for speeding up backgrounds.
WOW!!! The final result of the digital version is amazing!! I find digital art so daunting, even with a stylus/ Apple pencil/ what have you, so sketching first and then bringing it in and adjusting is SUCH a good idea. I loved the sketchbook drawing but the perspective grid made such a difference which is really cool to see!! This video taught me a lot( like a TON!!!!!) and I really love how you get inspiration from stationery boxes to create art, which are two things I wouldn’t necessarily combine. I love bullet journaling and drawing but my bujo never inspired art until I started watching these videos. Just saying that you’re really awesome and I really enjoyed this video!!
As many of my teachers in uni say... "if it resembles a circle, its a circle"... meaning you dont have to make perfect shapes, perfect perspective, etc for something to be alright..... of course you have to learn the perfect thing before to make imperfect things look perfect to the eye even if they arent
This drawing is fantastic and I really enjoyed seeing you develop your sketch digitally. That combined with you doing scenery is *chefs kiss* greatness!
You may ignore my comment but I really want you to know that you have always been a source of inspiration and a reason not to stop drawing... so thank you Rin 💜
OHHHH my gosh!!!! She's adorable!!! I love the illustration so muucucchhhh!!!! Your ability to make a drawing so detailed and yet simple at the same time is just,,, muah!! *chefs kiss* I love your art so muuuccchh
Oh my gosh the little derpy smiley face in the fireplace sketch that Rin just threw in there without telling us, why is no one talking about that 😂❤ I love how it stayed in the final result too 😆 Since this is my first time commenting on one of your videos, I just thought I’d say I love your videos Rin!!!!! I’ve been watching your videos for two or three years now, and I absolutely love your channel! You seem like such a great person and I love your sense of humor. Your videos always make me smile and I get super excited every time one comes out! Your art is awesome and always inspires me (like the drawings of animals in sweatshirts and the video of when you drew T-Rex’s; I combined the ideas and drew my own T-Rex’s in Christmas sweaters afterwords and had a blast. Also when you drew a bunch of doggies, I LOVED that video and had to draw my own doggie spread afterword 😋) I have also learned a lot from your channel; I learned about drawing thumbnails and planning out a character design from you, and I learned about Ohuhu markers from you; I went and bought a bunch a while ago and now they’re my favorite art supply! I also learned about the illo sketchbook from you and I absolutely love it ❤. I also love how honest your videos are, like you’re not afraid to say if you’re having a hard time with your art that day and you don’t edit out your mistakes; I just really really appreciate that since so many people edit everything out, so yours just feels really real and relatable and inspires me SO much. Seeing your whole process and hearing all your thoughts as you draw just makes art feel so much more achievable, if that makes sense. I love all of your drawings so much and I think you are amazing and super talented!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for everything you do and for bringing all of us along on your drawing journey!
i love your conductress. and the difference between the two digital and trad, wow! perspective lines really helped out the background to be very more fluid. this is my favorite yet so far!!
Oo that stamp would be fun/ good in a bullet journal. Lots of fun supplies in this box. On the friction pens: cold can make it partially come back but not all the way. I wrote with it and then put it in the freezer overnight after seeing it online out of curiosity. Those pens + markers are great. I use them for bullet journaling, drawing and sewing ( mark the fabric with it and then when you iron it or put it in the dryer the marks go away)
I just wanted to say that you inspired me a lot during my summer holidays and I drew for hours with you. I even got alcohol markers yesterday. So thank you!! Ilysm!
I got so excited when the thumbnail said witches and then I got Harry Potter vibes from the train! I always love watching you draw witches especially from your Hyacinth and Sage story last year? I think. Anyways love your art style and to see and hear your train of thought while making art!
Just started the video and I got so exited to hear you say "Enterprise" cuz I am a Trekkie so thanks for that good start LOL EDIT: I thought you could've add the rest of the swooshy train tail outside the window but I LOVE how it ended looking like!
absolutely LOVE the little illustration and how it turned out but the only things that bug me are that it's not a furnace, it's a firebox, and resting a wooden broom against it will result in fire! but that's just nitpicks who cares about workplace safety when it looks cute
I know this is 1+ year old, but I love everything about it, especially once you went digital! I'm definitely going to have to learn how to do that and if I get good enough, maybe I'll splurge on a really good drawing app. Thanks for giving me so much inspiration! I've been binging your videos for about a week now and have already both improved in my skills at traditional pencil sketches and gotten inspired to create 'The Guardians of the 4 Elements'. Fingers crossed they'll turn out as good on paper as they are in my head. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤘🏻❤️🔥
Hey, Rin! I haven't watched you in awhile but now the urge to watch your videos has returned so I will probably binge them. Hehehe! I love what you did here - so clever being able to bring perspective in later on! 💕💕💕
I love watching your videos. You make drawing look so easy and fun. Wish I could take a class from you on sketching and character design. Thanks for sharing your process and your art with us. ❤
It's my birthday and this feels like a gift to me!! I love your videos and art, they have really helped me puch through art block and grow as an artist, thank you! :)
I really enjoyed watching this! I mean, I always love all of your videos, but I just mean that I really liked the idea of doing this as digital art! The only draw back was you didn't get to use the pink and purple colors that were included in the art box, but this piece turned out really cute! Maybe you could add color and show it to us in a later video?! I'd love to see how you tackle adding glow from the fire and other details like that! I always struggle with adding a glow and it's something that I think looks really cool so I want to learn as much as I can! Thanks for another great video Rin! Love you lots!
Love this video, I have started an Art Course at college and we recently learnt about perspective and seeing you talk about it and use it in creating this piece has reinforced what I learnt in class. Also, love this image and the wee fire makes me think of Calcifer in "Howls Moving Castle" 😄
The witch hat with baseball cap brim reminds me of a Christmas show i watched as a kid that had a character called pyrus (it would prob come up if you search on pyrus)
When you were first making the concept sketch of the character of the witch I was thinking instead of the shovel you should have done a broom. That is why I was satisfied at the end when you put in the background of the scene.
If the sticker situation happends again you can use warm air from a hair dryer to peal the sticker off. Make sure you use warm air and not hot dont want to accidently melt something inside box. Should do the trick ;3 It's also a good way to resuse stickers that someone gives you use warm air on the sticker comes right off should still be sticky then put on paper and wait for it to cool and should stick if not use glue stick to help.
Omg, not only was this cute, but it also really helped! My next project for my drawing class is perspective work (Just simple stuff with boxes) and this really helped me understand how to use it in an actual senario! Tysm
I loved the digital portion of this! I feel like I learned so much about perspective grids and how they actually work! I dare say it made me want to try drawing a background for once! Thanks, Rin!
Yeah Backgrounds are always tough to do 😭
me too!
i love how rin made the decision herself to draw vines and then squealed excitedly when she did
I really like the drawing in this video, the character is so cool and the magical fire reminded me of Calcifer from Howls Moving Castle
I was thinking the same thing, the fire reminded me of Calcifer too
Same honestly. Calcifer was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the little ball of fire.
Yesss I thought the same thing
Yes! That's what I thought :D
It's really cool and fun when Rin is unboxing art supplies from zenpop
I made fakemon……so…yeh
Rin is the only person that can make me laugh while watching an art video 😂
fr
True
Ikr
Totally agree 👍🏻👍🏻
I recommend Drawfee as well. They're fun
Sooo no one is gonna talk about her almost perfect train without her warming up her wrist!? You killed that train girl!! Super talented
Oh the post-it notes with the train is most definitely based on the book Night on the Galactic Railroad! About two boys who go on a train across the universe. There's a scene where a man catches cranes to turn them into candy, hence the birds.
I always get so excited whenever Rin posts. She always makes me smile even when I feel angry or upset. WE ALL LOVE YOU RIN 💜💜
Ok I just wanted to say :
I LOVE UR ✨PFP AND USERNAME ✨!!!
@@sunnysketches Ty
@@sunnysketches Agreed ;)
Yeah she does.
why did i think of rin kagamine (the vocaloid)
Rin already has a lot of inspiration but when we also add zenpop boxes ...GOSH BE AWARE,GO HIDE CUZ SHE GONNA DO A MASTERPIECE
i love how Rin isn’t afraid of getting outside her comfort zone and always manages to make her illustrations look amazing!
I'm soooo obsessed with the swan as a familiar or pet. That's way too cool and cute. There's this dude on UA-cam who saves little birds or eggs and raises them and they follow him and nuzzle into his beard and stuff and I die of cuteness overload every time.

Watching you draw digital art is such a treat. The perspective made such a difference, and the piece turned out great! Esp the pop of shadow!!

I love how the witche's home looks. So comfy!
I would love to see what a color version would look like. Think the final drawing came out so cute!

the finished drawing is so cute!!! i’d totally buy prints
I loved how you showed your process start to finish, it made me understand perspective lines more and makes me excited to draw!

Most helpful perspective tutorial I've seen in a while lol
thank you soo much for teaching me a new way to make my digital art look wayy better! And thank you for the inspiration every saturday!!!

The fire in the furnace reminds me of Calcifer from Howls moving castle. Its a studio Ghibli movie, its sooo good 🤩
I was thinking the Same thing 😁💕
Loved watching your creative process and incorporating the digital art. Well done.
I am always inspired by your art, thank you for posting 🙂💕
This drawing is fantastic and I really enjoyed seeing you develop your sketch digitally. That combined with you doing scenery is *chefs kiss* greatness!
You may ignore my comment but I really want you to know that you have always been a source of inspiration and a reason not to stop drawing... so thank you Rin 💜
Rin is literally my fav artist ever! Her videos are always amazing!! ❤
I’m madly inlove with the final drawing. Makes me want to draw XD I’m always so busy ahh
Watching you draw and talk though your perspective drawing is really helpful and informative!!! (Btw I love how it turned out 🥰)
OHHHH my gosh!!!! She's adorable!!! I love the illustration so muucucchhhh!!!! Your ability to make a drawing so detailed and yet simple at the same time is just,,, muah!! *chefs kiss* I love your art so muuuccchh
*Rin is the funnest person i have came across on UA-cam*
*She has inspired me so much and im now obsessed with drawing*
The marker's a pretty pink color, and I love the train you drew! and the witch girl (but I kind of like the train girl better)
Oh my gosh the little derpy smiley face in the fireplace sketch that Rin just threw in there without telling us, why is no one talking about that 😂❤ I love how it stayed in the final result too 😆

I'm just amazed how she just puts things together & It works
Oo that stamp would be fun/ good in a bullet journal.

The swan curled up in front of the fire may just be my favourite thing ever 😍
It's just bigger on the inside. I love the idea of the inside of the engine being a cute little study with the fire and she can have her tea and read.
I just wanted to say that you inspired me a lot during my summer holidays and I drew for hours with you. I even got alcohol markers yesterday. So thank you!! Ilysm!
hi past me
this has to be one of my favorite artworks you’ve done! i love the character so much!
I love this theme, and the mixed media!!
This was a really nice illustration, loved the details and the background!
I got so excited when the thumbnail said witches and then I got Harry Potter vibes from the train! I always love watching you draw witches especially from your Hyacinth and Sage story last year? I think. Anyways love your art style and to see and hear your train of thought while making art!
this picture turned out so adorably cute! i'm toally in love with the little conductress witch
YAAAY!!! Zenpop's back!! Your drawing is amazing!!
I absolutely LOVED watching this! The bits of magic and witches plus the learning with you on the perspective grids was great :)
I loooove when waffles goes digital!!! More pleaseee❤❤❤
So fun watching you design an environment for your character!
LOVED how this turned out!! all the little details!! the swan as a witchy pet/familiar is so unusual and cute as well, hehe.
Oh goodnes, I’ve wanted one of those multi button stamps. Since i found out about them obvy
Rin videos have the best energy!
Just started the video and I got so exited to hear you say "Enterprise" cuz I am a Trekkie so thanks for that good start LOL
EDIT: I thought you could've add the rest of the swooshy train tail outside the window but I LOVE how it ended looking like!
This video made me 'Daww' several times. Also that train is great.
Also the final drawing looks amazing. It's like a children's book cover.
Always such good videos for making me want to draw.
Me too😭
absolutely LOVE the little illustration and how it turned out but the only things that bug me are that it's not a furnace, it's a firebox, and resting a wooden broom against it will result in fire! but that's just nitpicks who cares about workplace safety when it looks cute

Absolutely love the end result. Would love to see more of your pieces end in digital or just digital in general.
for real, your zen pop videos are my favourite ❤
these videos are so relaxing to me and i love it
Same! 😁💕
It's so cute!!
you could print just the lineart version and then color it!!
this would make a amazing coloring page!! I love the sketch/doodle!
Hey, Rin! I haven't watched you in awhile but now the urge to watch your videos has returned so I will probably binge them. Hehehe! I love what you did here - so clever being able to bring perspective in later on! 💕💕💕
Gosh your art and your personality are to live for!! I love watching your process. It's the magical factor. You don't have to try. 🥰
I absolutely love watching her process!! She cracks me up!!
"It's looking a lot like thanksgiving dinner..."
*gasps*
Don't eat the magic swan!!
I've had a pretty rough week, I'm sure my weekly dose of Rin will help cheer me up!
Love ya, art buddy! ❤💖💗
The first train conductor was sooo cute
I love watching your videos. You make drawing look so easy and fun. Wish I could take a class from you on sketching and character design. Thanks for sharing your process and your art with us. ❤

Am I the only one getting serious Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets vibes?
Like, with the flying car and all that.
Same!
This illustration is SO GOOD! Would like to color that
I love these videos! I always have art block so this really help cure it! Thank you for putting in the effort :)
Same!
It's my birthday and this feels like a gift to me!! I love your videos and art, they have really helped me puch through art block and grow as an artist, thank you! :)
The witch looks like a friendly one cool haha💙
I really enjoyed watching this! I mean, I always love all of your videos, but I just mean that I really liked the idea of doing this as digital art! The witch hat with baseball cap brim reminds me of a Christmas show i watched as a kid that had a character called pyrus (it would prob come up if you search on pyrus)
I thought the same 😁💕
I just love digital art, and seeing you make it makes my heart go all fuzzy. Could you please do more digital art?
This sketch is super adorable! It should be a sticker or something. 💕
It really reminds me of Howls Moving Castle but that’s probably just the magic fire plus a witch! I love it it’s so cuteee
I just love your narrative every time. You make me giggle. LOVE IT ❤️ 😍
She came out so cute! Love the little scene.
Tysm
I'm clawing my way out of a pretty rough art block rn and your videos always kick start my inspiration 💖 I appreciate you a lot
i love how she says, " throw something in there, and it looks more lived in! "🤣😆
