    Is it possible to set one of these up for slow control doing leather work with thicker leather (say 3/8")?

    Hello,
    I'm a complete newbie to sewing and I recently purchased an industrial sewing machine, the singer 411 u967aa. I'm struggling to find any information on it and was wondering if you know much about this machine? I've tried to find videos on it but not luck at all.
    Also, I love your videos. Well done. Liked and subscribed!!

    I love to watch your videos the are very good explaining I have watched this one many times I Recently bought a single 212 u539a Double needle and I am having some trouble making Longer stich on it I already try to do what you explain in the video but it just not working it just stop at some point when Rotating the wheel and that’s as far as it goes I was wondering if you would help me out

    • @AlexanderDyer
      @AlexanderDyer  3 роки тому

      When you are depressing the button and making your adjustment, you will turn the hand-wheel in one direction to increase and the other direction to decrease the stitch length. Try the other direction.

    • @tavoflores1740
      @tavoflores1740 3 роки тому

      Yes I try that too but at some point stop and if I keep pushing it then it gets Out of time..
      Is it possible that maybe it comes like that form the factory

    I have a Singer 211G156, and this seems like a very similar machine - It looks to use the same casing With some modifications for additional adjustments and the built-in bobbin winder. Your video has be wondering if it would be possible to swap the bobbin hook for a larger size in my machine.

  • @nailkasimov4475
    @nailkasimov4475 5 років тому

    Hello. Good review. I have about the same sewing machine. Only the top winding of the bobbin is closed on the other side. The inscription on the machine is overwritten. I can not determine the exact modification.

      It is just like changing the stitch length but you use that top button instead of the button in the bed of the machine.

    hello, I am curious about the bobbin hook set up . I looked at a 211 recently with a standard g sized bobbin and passed on it for that reason. I have a Brother LS2-837B which is a clone of the 211 I believe but it has a huge bobbin in comparison.
    my question is, can you swap a g bobbin hook set up for an M or N bobbin?
    Thanks for the video too I love these 211, 226, 553 type machines for boat upholstery

    • @AlexanderDyer
      @AlexanderDyer  2 роки тому

      Some 211's have the big and some the small. I suspect that with enough parts the conversion could be made but I don't know that for sure. See if you can find a parts book with exploded views, maybe you can figure it out from there.

    Alexander, oddly enough I have the last 2 machines you have reviewed. Actually my 211 is a 211U567b, but seems to have all the same features as this machine. I am in the process of adding a solenoid to the reverse with a button below the tension discs.

      I have an opportunity to purchase a well maintained and recently serviced singer 211A567AB. Do you think it will do leather sheaths for knives? The person that is selling used this for leather and vinyl upholstery but they have never done sheaths. What do you think is a fair market value?

    I have a 211u166a, very similar, Brownish, smaller bobbin, servo and pulley reduction. Was this a review and or sale or one of your personal machines. I use mine for outdoor equipment and upholstery applications. I recently purchased both a Consew 146 rb and 146rb compact for sail work and neoprene. Just started using these after double pedal motor/ lift foot and servo modifications. Any thoughts needle thread combinations or the needle tips available,( trip blade, ball, single point). Sailrite has many of the extra feet so still loading up on accessories.

    Great video as always 😊 I’m looking to getting an industrial machine. I’ve got an old vintage singer 201 but she struggles a little with vinyl. I have been offered the consew 263 but I’m concerned about timing belt and it does look a little worn. Would it be easy to change the clutch to a servo?

  • @Spectt84
    @Spectt84 5 років тому

    What would you recommend for a first sewing machine? I make wallets, belts, and guitar straps currently and have plans for a holster all out of "veg-tan" leather.
    I know everyone's cookie cutter response of a "triple feed" (aka compound feed or unison feed depending on brand) industrial sewing machine with a servo motor to get it slow... But of that criteria, is there "one to get"? Is there maybe a budget brand or version? Or maybe one that is easy to learn on or maintain? There's so many brands and models, I get lost. I also go back & fourth on whether or not to buy used. Should I just keep my eye out for a used "unison feed industrial" in my area? Or buy new, since a new one will require less maintenance (of which I don't know how to do)? When looking at used machines, I get nervous because I don't know if I'm over paying.
    At one point I decided to go with the "sure thing" and pony up and get that new machine from Tandy, I think it's called the "stitch master". Then reading reviews people were saying even that is over priced... Ugh.

    • @AlexanderDyer
      @AlexanderDyer  5 років тому

      If it has these features, and is a name brand industrial, and it is in good condition it is hard to go wrong. Make sure you can get parts and you should be able to keep it going a good long time. If you change you mind about it, it holds its value fairly well, you can sell and buy the next.

    • @philsullivan3679
      @philsullivan3679 3 місяці тому

      If you are just starting, you should also look into a 'Servo' motor and a speed reduction system. Both of these things will help you control the machine much, much better than the Clutch type motors.

    May i ask why sometimes the stitches skip? What seems to be the problem

    • @AlexanderDyer
      @AlexanderDyer  5 років тому

      Could be timing or a number of other mechanical adjustments. If skipping at turns then watch this.ua-cam.com/video/D3QuCF6zATg/v-deo.html
