Punch it, Mister Mike! Brave crewmates Luke, Ellen, Mike and Andy sign up for Starfleet and tackle the Kobayashi Maru in co-op VR. Expect hand-waving and plenty of red alerts as we play Star Trek Bridge Crew. Enjoy!
I would like to say this is the funniest thing I've seen for ages and also that I have never watched Star Trek but now feel like I know all about it. Thanks Outside Xtra.
*Crewman enters the bridge. * *Sees the whole bridge crew randomly flailing their arms in panic. * *Sees the captain press the red alert button for no apparent reason. * *Sees Ensign Farrant fire torpedo on a whim. * *Slowly backs out from bridge. *
*Secretly contacts starfleet * Plottwist: Jane IS the starfleet *Jane reliefs Luke of Duty and forcibly takes command * *Jane declares war to all species and defeats them * *Jane finally becomes the dictator of the one place not corrupted by capitalism and builds a new death ray *
I admire and deeply respect Andy for the fact that he could withstand the urge to fire the torpedoes at the ship full of innocent people. I would have fired those photon torpedoes the second we got in range of a vessel!..
Nicolai Bock I think that was a valid solution to one of the EU captains. 1) probably a trap 2. The ship shouldn't be there. 3. Even ignoring 1&2, us killing them would be better than kingon prison.
You _know_ the rest of my day will be spent mentally writing a Star Trek series staring the O|X squad: The USS Taurus is commanded by the youthful and charismatic Captain Westaway. Commander Rose is his first officer, charging fearlessly into even the most unsettling away missions. Chief Engineer Channel knows the Taurus' systems inside out, and is also the best pilot on the ship. Lieutenant Commander Farrant, Tactical Officer and Security Chief, has displayed unusual knowledge of covert operations, causing some of the crew to suspect ties to Section 31. T'Jane, Chief Science Officer, is known to the crew as a Vulcan, but they will soon discover that she is actually a Romulan, with a shadowy agenda of her own...
This is the best "commercial" for a VR product I've ever seen. You made me not only want to buy the game, but invest in the VR and perhaps even a console to experience this! 😁
Well, there _is_ the Adverse Admiral Rule of Starfleet, where the morality of Starfleet's flag ranks is directly proportional to the number of admirals involved in the decision. When you get a message from Starfleet Command as a whole, your marching orders are pretty decent and serve the greater good. When a single admiral is calling the shots, however, said admiral is either crazed with arrogance or a conspirator with a dark agenda. Admiral Jane would fit to type pretty well.
What about a Battlestar Galactica game? Imagine, if you will, you and your bridge crew are another lost battlestar and are jumping though the galaxy on a search for other life or a place to die with glory. One thing that you could do with that, then, is have a hot-swap system where others, without VR gear can jump in and play as Viper drivers. Yeah, the code for that would level buildings but it's cool to imagine.
lol Captain Picard from First Contact "I'm about to commit a direct violation of our orders, any who object say so now I'll note it in my log." Captain Luke: "If you object...go in the airlock or something." Two very different command styles there :P
Watching this 5 years later. I think this is one of my top favorite games that you played on the channel. I wish you would have come back to it. But still love it.
Imagine being a regular guy on your starship, and just walkimg in on you guys acting crazy, and thinking "I'm not gonna survive this am I? I might as well put on a red shirt"
I love the fact that these missions aren't just like small minigames. This edited video is almost 20 minutes, and it's only part one. Excited for the epic simulations to come out of this game
I was in a very Star Trek mood, and then this video came out. Perfect timing... Almost too perfect... I am going to keep an eye on you guys from now on.
They are the best crew ever! "It looks like a civillian vessel needs assistance as well." Captain Luke: "Oh for God's sake." Best bits: "Shall I fire torpedoes, Captain?" -Andy "I hate to point out, but there's a meteor right in front of us." -Mike "Punch it!" "How far to be we have to be, I don't want to miss the fireworks?" -Mike "Minimum safe distance is 20, I'd like us at 25." -Luke "Awwwwww.... that's miles away!" -Mike "Set a course for the pub!" I want them all to have a turn at being captain it'd be great
Seeing you guys pilot a Federation ship has been the most hilarious thing I've seen for a long time. I'm replacing the new Star Trek movies with this in my head canon.
Ken Doyle makes sense if you think about it. After all, the whole philosophy of Starfleet boiled down to surfer talk is, basically, "be excellent to each other"
Wait...so you all did a space game WITHOUT Jane? Is she the one secretly pulling the strings behind the whole operation? If she was, then this whole thing is a ruse. Jane has sent you all on this expedition so she can gain support and further her plan to become Jane the Evil Space Queen.
Settling down at the end of one of the most stressful days ive had in a long time, and I see that OXtra have a new video. Perfect timing, really cheered me up guys. Thank you!! :-)
I admit, I'm new here, but they were a lot more competent than I expected. I was also surprised to see Andy on weapons insteaed of Mike, but that might have been for the better. Also this looks absolutely amazing!
Andy in charge of the weapons!?! Why would you ever give him control of photon torpedoes???? I'm shocked he was able to not "accidentally" hit the fire button over and over again.
Punch it, Mister Mike! Brave crewmates Luke, Ellen, Mike and Andy sign up for Starfleet and tackle the Kobayashi Maru in co-op VR. Expect hand-waving and plenty of red alerts as we play Star Trek Bridge Crew. Enjoy!
Outside Xtra can you do a gta 5 heist pls.
Outside Xtra yup trained professionals
I expected Jane to be part of this - since she's the physics and gravity expert
I would like to say this is the funniest thing I've seen for ages and also that I have never watched Star Trek but now feel like I know all about it. Thanks Outside Xtra.
You guys should do a Show of the Weekend where you play this but take shots after each mistake. XD
Luke wins the "Most Supportive and Adorable Captain" award for his stellar positive reinforcement toward his crew.
Luke: We've encountered a freighter full of adorable children, puppies and kittens.
Andy: Should I fire torpedoes, Captain?
Luke: Are they absolutely harmless?
Andy: Yes, Captain. Should I fire torpedoes?
*Crewman enters the bridge. *
*Sees the whole bridge crew randomly flailing their arms in panic. *
*Sees the captain press the red alert button for no apparent reason. *
*Sees Ensign Farrant fire torpedo on a whim. *

Plottwist: Jane IS the starfleet
*Jane reliefs Luke of Duty and forcibly takes command *
*Jane declares war to all species and defeats them *
*Jane finally becomes the dictator of the one place not corrupted by capitalism and builds a new death ray *
Luke: "Set phasers to fun!"
Mike: "You promised you wouldn't say it!"
I'd love to hear the story behind this
I admire and deeply respect Andy for the fact that he could withstand the urge to fire the torpedoes at the ship full of innocent people. I would have fired those photon torpedoes the second we got in range of a vessel!..
Nicolai Bock I think that was a valid solution to one of the EU captains.

2. The ship shouldn't be there.
3. Even ignoring 1&2, us killing them would be better than kingon prison.
Doesn't seem very Federation to mercy kill people though?
You can't solve every problem with photon torpedoes Andy. Just most of them.
Joshua Thomas Agreed
I'm not sure about that, let's try throwing the crewmen with the red shirts on at the problem! That's sure to succeed when the torpedoes fail!
Joshua Thomas well, every so often you do need more than just photon torpedoes, yes.
Now you tell me!
You _know_ the rest of my day will be spent mentally writing a Star Trek series staring the O|X squad:

Laszlok I NEED THIS!!!
This sounds actually pretty interesting. I WANT MORE *.*
Someone send this to Netflix
"Best pilot on the ship" XD
brandon f. it may just mean everyone else is WORSE
Only the best captains issue red alerts randomly
It's only 'red' alert. No one would dare mess around with alert level 'blackwatch plaid'.
"Are you sure you want to go to red alert? It does mean changing the bulb..."
"We are at Scarlet Alert!"
"What's Scarlet Alert?"
"It's like Red Alert but with flogging"
Callum Tulloch
Just remember: Red Alerts save red shirts.
@@nicholascross3557 there's always an excuse, isn't there?
"PUNCH IT!!"
"AHHHHHHH"
"Nobody panic!"
"AHHHHHHH"
5:52 "do you guys wanna see what the red alert is like?" *presses button*
best captain ever.
Imagine hearing "How often do you get to blow up a friendly ship? This is great!" Over the coms XD
This is the best "commercial" for a VR product I've ever seen. You made me not only want to buy the game, but invest in the VR and perhaps even a console to experience this! 😁
its also going to be on the vive and rift
Not even 30 seconds in and the outside-oxcrew nearly crashed in a planet.
This is going to be a good one.
Luke commanding with the quiet confidence of someone who had already long since considered how to deal with the Kobayashi Maru scenario.
"You don't know how cool these buttons look!"
Best defense ever 😂
Luke might be commanding he ship but we all know Jane's the one who controls the entire Starfleet
Knowing Jane, she's probably both
Well, there _is_ the Adverse Admiral Rule of Starfleet, where the morality of Starfleet's flag ranks is directly proportional to the number of admirals involved in the decision.

Admiral Jane would fit to type pretty well.
I guarantee that the first two minutes of this video was heavily edited, as the crew probably spent closer to an hour completely screwing around.
"The pick up the phone button is right next to the red alert button"
Damn starship designers, how many centuries have they had to work that one out?
Hey, if the call goes badly, you can hang up and hit the red with ease.
"It looks like a civilian vessel needs assistance as well"
"Oh for God's sake"
That's the Starfleet spirit! 😂
I'm disappointed that there's no option to secretly fudge your work and just play Galaga at one of the terminals.
ashtherion That'll be in the Avengers SHIELD VR game. haha
I understood that reference

@@samuelstensgaard4828 Damn, a surprise inspection by Admiral Stark!
"our engine are locked on some kind of malfunction cycle"

lol Captain Picard from First Contact "I'm about to commit a direct violation of our orders, any who object say so now I'll note it in my log."
Captain Luke: "If you object...go in the airlock or something."

Dont forget Captain Jane as well.
"If you don't vote for me you will disappear"

Imagine being a regular guy on your starship, and just walkimg in on you guys acting crazy, and thinking "I'm not gonna survive this am I? I might as well put on a red shirt"
Watching this really made me want to buy...a Red Dwarf version of this game.
Scan the NPC? Damn it Luke i'm an Ops officer not the Doctor.
Not a single "Make it so" i am amazed
Andy Mcp opportunity missed
Luke what are you doing in Star Trek it's a different universe!
*10 minutes of giggling and air instrumentation later*
Yeah, they almost lost me with the intro stuff.
"Set phasers to fun!"
"You promised you wouldn't say it!"
Pull yourself together man! He's the captain, and he'll say whatever the hell he wants!
"Do you have an option to hack the simulation?"
Haha! Come now Kirk.
"Set phasers to fun!"
"Dammit you promised you wouldn't say that Captain."
That moment when you realize that andy creates more explosions than mike :o
It was a choice between driving the ship or shooting the weapons. Makes me wonder what he'd do with a tank...
Am I the only one who would actually watch these guys do a vr air instrumental gig? At the very least the Show of the Weekend tune.
you're doing great guys... oh crap don't hit the planet!!
I love the fact that these missions aren't just like small minigames. This edited video is almost 20 minutes, and it's only part one. Excited for the epic simulations to come out of this game
You guys are my favorite people on UA-cam. Y'all have so much fun together. Keep up the good work.
The first ten minutes had me in tears. The trombone put it over the top. Oh man I needed that. That was great.
Thank you, that just made my day.
So you guys had me cackling like a maniac this morning. Thanks!
Andy having the appropriate response to seeing Kobayashi Maru :D
I was in a very Star Trek mood, and then this video came out. Perfect timing... Almost too perfect... I am going to keep an eye on you guys from now on.
I've got to hand it to you, this is hands down the best opening to an Outside Xtra video ever.
Who is wearing the redshirt.... *looks down and sees a redshirt* OH GOD IM GOING TO DIE
I'm wearing a red shirt IRL, so...geez, that's frightening.
Timothy McLean same here
Sooooo.... I'm wearing a black shirt with the face of Death on it.... should I be more or less worried than if it were red?
Wearing a red muscle shirt. At least, I'll die with style and masculinity!
wait are you using the original order of shirts or next generation cause you may survive
They are the best crew ever!
"It looks like a civillian vessel needs assistance as well."
Captain Luke: "Oh for God's sake."

"Set a course for the pub!"
I want them all to have a turn at being captain it'd be great
This is like an episode of Star Trek where the crew is on drugs, but doesn't realize it. lol
"Anybody do anything good this weekend?" Captain: " Yeah, I violated the Neutral Zone." lol
I've watched a couple Bridge Crew videos. This one is by far the best. Nice job
Jean Luc's son: Jean Luke
Seeing you guys pilot a Federation ship has been the most hilarious thing I've seen for a long time. I'm replacing the new Star Trek movies with this in my head canon.
Just make this a TV show. Instantly better than ANYTHING ever ever! 👌This close to wetting myself. So funny. Thanks guys.
"It looks like a civilian vessel needs assistance as well."
"Oh for God's sake..."
Genuinely one of my favourite OxBox videos of all time. Truly hilarious.
I never knew Wyld Stallions went into Starfleet! *triumphant air guitar*
Ken Doyle makes sense if you think about it. After all, the whole philosophy of Starfleet boiled down to surfer talk is, basically, "be excellent to each other"
Breathtaking
Andy's solution for every situation is torpedoes such a Klingon
"Eat fireballs!"
"No fireballs no!"
"EAT THEM EAT THEM!"
"AAAAAAH"
Now this is a vr game that looks awesome.
Here we have the: Star Trek Night Crew
I love that the first 2 minutes of this is just them playing air instruments.
I want to know what happened behind the scenes that allowed Luke to be captain.
Wait...so you all did a space game WITHOUT Jane? Is she the one secretly pulling the strings behind the whole operation? If she was, then this whole thing is a ruse. Jane has sent you all on this expedition so she can gain support and further her plan to become Jane the Evil Space Queen.
Well, she couldn't do a worse job than trump
So far.
All the crew have broken arms on this ship, love it.
Settling down at the end of one of the most stressful days ive had in a long time, and I see that OXtra have a new video. Perfect timing, really cheered me up guys. Thank you!! :-)
This is my favourite gaming related channel
That flailing clip will keep me happy for the rest of my life.
I like how everybody was like "arms up like a rollercoaster!" Andy's were just straight at his sides
Ellen's character miss the memo to wear yellow uniform, huh?
That's sad, a sad sad red.
We need a whole Let's Play series of this as soon as it comes out - this was hilarious!
Why is Ellen the only one wearing a red shirt? Oh dear.
It's a red *dress* she should be fine.
i think this is one of my favourite Oxtra vids :,)
Ah, here it is. One of the funniest and most entertaining games I've seen, but probably the most expensive as well.
This is the greatest thing I have ever seen.
I could watch that beginning scene with them in the briefing room all day!
VR air guitar for the win :)
For the love of god upload part two as soon as possible, loved this!
"Plotting a course to somewhere". The most amazing navigational skills on display since the Carl Vinson.
This was just awesome! I'm really looking forward for more of this delicious chaos you call commanding a starfleet ship
The amount of screaming and hand waving was awesome.
At least Mike has the Kobayashi Maru puzzle figured out
I have replaced my ringtone with Ellen's laugh. It has significantly improved my day.
Amazing job on showing what player experience in this game is like, great video, way better then others, thank you for your work!
Wow, the PSVR version actually looks playable. These Star Trek Bridge Crew videos are probably the highlight of my week.
Andy's like u cant see me 😹 7:53
That beginning with all the instrument playing had me laughing so hard I was crying.
Best Let's Play so far, could not stop laughing!
Star TraX is not the Star Trek that the Fans wanted but the Trek we deserve.
I'm a minute and a half in, and already convinced that surely no foe will be able to resist your laser focus.
Man, videogames just got real. Imagine being able to fly the Millenium Falcon like this
What Captain Picard did in his free time: Thank you for demonstrating
i could never have as much fun as these guys are. but i wish i could
More of this game you guys are so good!
We need an Oxtra let's play of the rick and morty VR game
This looks like a game that's much, much more fun to see played than to actually play.
Meanwhile, Jane is playing with zero gravity Easter eggs.
Honestly, I'm pretty sure the only requirement for the job was to be 'not Mike'.
VR sole purpose in life is to have the oxtra and oxbox sing and dance the YMCA. 😂
"set phasers for fun". I lost it while eating and watching.
I can't wait for the band to go on tour.
Mister Andy does love his torpedo's, wanting to fire them at every opportunity.
*that one crew member to the side whispers*
We're doomed.
