Joe is striking the perfect balance between his natural awesomeness and paying homage to the king. Such a great tribute....
Be careful! There was only ONE King in Rock! :) Can't put words to what Eddie was. In a room of bright lights, he shined the most.
Totally AGREE..!!!
Yep, he is just plain Joe.
You guys don't play guitar do you?
@@ihavethedocuments2580 😆😆😆
I've been known to play a paying gig here and there.
So great to see Michael Anthony back where he belongs.
For sure!!! Gotta love the always stellar. Mike Anthony!!
Joes at the very top of a short list of the best we got
Absolutely CORRECT Brother 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Kenny Aronoff stepped in on this concert, cool, he's another beast
Dude has one hell of a resume. Beast indeed.
He was reading the music playing live that's next level right there.
Check out the Rick Beato Kenny video...pretty cool.
I saw them in LA with Jason Bonham and was blown away how good they all were. Aronoff is a legend too, wow.
Yep he's one you need on speed dial when you get to that level of playing
Sammy still sounds amazing, and he ALWAYS looks like he's having more fun than any human on the planet. Michael Anthony is so underrated as a bassist and back-up vocalist. An all-timer of a musician!
Michaelfuckinanthony the BEST backup vocalist everrrrrrr!!!’
Ben a VH fan since 1978 and seeing this makes me happy it's still alive in whatever form.
Hi Ben.
💯
Great comment…
Unlike other older bands on tour, these guys look happy and healthy.
Satch is a beast, perfect for this
I laughed pretty hard at all the naysayers that claimed Joe couldn’t pull this off…. like REALLY…?!! 😆🤪🙄
@@MarcStitsel Joe is the best. The guy can play anything and still be himself somehow
I'd like to see satch do a 50-50 show. 50% of his stuff and 50% with Sammy and Michael.
Satch is awesome! EVH was my All Time Favorite but to watch Satch shred VH material was awesome. Anything to hear VH for me. Love it all and Satch is a guy who took this super seriously which I appreciate as well
@@jameslee7008 if Eddie could sit and watch Joe play, his jaw would be on the floor. Kindred spirits I'm sure
Great job Kenny fillin’ in for Jason at such short notice, 100% pro
Joe is class, peace and love.
Good spirit shining through amazing guitar work.
🎯
Saw them in Cincy the night before this show. Amazing show. I really appreciate what these men are giving us 80s kid. Long Live the King.
Awesome show. I was at this show and had no voice left.
SAME!@@billbarker3715
I am a Joe and VH fan. I saw the second show of this tour and thought Joe played this song "ok". Now that he has been playing this song more, he definitely is playing it better. This performance sounds great. Sammy sounds better as well. Sammy mentioned in a recent interview that he feels like he starts peeking later in the tour.
Sounded awesome in Nashville!
It's my general rule to never see the first few shows of a tour... not only band members need those warm up shows, but the sound crew n effects crews as well. Final shows, especially in places like vegas are ALWAYS A BLAST!
@@juniorjunior2687 I agree if you can pull that off. They only made two stops in Florida and I had to drive three hours to see them.
@@dutycalls8256 if u gotta make the first few shows due to logistics, then it is what it is... u still got to see history!
Saw the vids from the WPB FL show and Sammy looked like he was out of gas, definitely in the groove now.
Joe is keeping Eddie alive! 😘
lol
I‘ve seen Joe with DP in '93!
He had two weeks to prepare the tour after Ritchie quit!
It was absolutely amazing!
Joe is an alien!
Smart of them to bring in a keyboardist that can sing too. It really fills everything up. JS is the man. He brings enough to satisfy the EVH fan and adds his own style.
Was there in Nashville. Love this song, and they hit it out of the park. I feel very, very blessed to have been there. Amazing concert.
Satriani doing serious justice to Eddie's material. Well done Joe!!
concert last night OUTSTANDING!!!
I was there, FANTASTIC show They rocked for 2:12!
I was there too. Joe did such a good.good job being faithful to Eddies tone and his chops that it was really a pleasure and immensely fun to listen too. Teary eyed here. I was the bald guy with the rock n roll Hawaiian shirt. 😂
Loverboy held up their end of the deal! They rocked also! Great show by both!
I was there, so amped up after the concert I got pulled over for not driving 55.
DANG they got Kenny Aranoff to sit in for Bonham!!!???
Kenny’s been touring with Joe the last few years so it just worked our he had some time off while Joe did the Sammy thing. 😁
Joe must have questioned how Edward came up with such amazing music.
He knows like we all do that it came straight down from God to Ed’s mind to his fingers. He was a conduit. He knew it. He said so, that it came from somewhere else. He felt it.
Never listened to any of Joe’s solo stuff, eh?
2:43 is my absolute favorite moment of this performance. The perfect crossover of Joe and Ed. What a tour de force performance from all the band, especially Joe.
So good!!….my two favourites Sammy and Joe.🎸🎸😎😎👌👌
Satch has played phenomenally well on this tour. He’s an incredible musician,
Joe was GREAT keeping Eddie’s way and his own!!! Great concert in Nashville 2024
I was at this show! It was fantastic!
I love all these guys true legends. Just fantastic
AMAZING video and editing! Dallas concert was rockin'. Thanks for posting, best vid yet of the tour!
I'm glad that Joe opted & chose to play the guitar solo in his own style and not clone Eddie Van Halen!!!! 😊❤
Same here! 🙌🎸🔥 Joe knocked it out of the park! Also fun fact: the Nashville show tonight was one of only 3 shows of the tour to be performed in an arena😯 The rest were outdoor shows 🎸🎸🎸
@@MastersofShred I agree 👍🏻💯!!!! 😃😀🙂🙂
"Opted"....it was not a choice. There was literally no way to 'get up to speed' on EVH for this gig. So, comp solos with Chuck Berry blues licks. Forget the incessant tapping.
We saw them the night before in Cincinnati, what an incredible show!
The look they gave each other at the end shows Mike and Sam are best buds
That’s that shit right there that was badass wish I could’ve been there 🤟🏻
Seeing Mike Anthony on bass playing Van Halen and his vocals....it brings back memories. Satriani nailed the sound of course and Kenny Aronoff kills on drums ....great work boys
That sounds super fine. 🎉
All in there 70s! Van halen will live forever ♥️
I was there! What an awesome show from beginning to end!
Man, Joe has the brown sound down ❤. Very cool . ❤
That's not the bown sound. Wrong era.
Ty
LOL !!! Ty , Yes what he said . That is not even close to the brown sound and he did not even come close to nailing any of The greatest guitarist to ever play the guitar in the world God wrest his soul Mr Edward Van Halen . OMG not even close , Come on people before you speak of this King !!! BEFORE YOU DO !!! REALLY ??? Make sure you really do have the utmost respect for the man by showing you really know the truth and have an exact clue of what the fuck your talking about !!! Go watch 5150 LIVE WITHOUT A NET AND SEE WHY Joe who nor anyone else will never ever nail any of the master maestro s Guitar playing period . Have some respect please please !!!
I likehow Joe made it his own.
I'm a 80s/90s, red dirt music nut. I think Satch is still my favorite guitarist ever.
4 legends on that stage.
Yes yes yes. As a senior in high school cruising main street anoka in my 69 fastback cranking Summer Nights. So great
That brings back some great memories. 5150 ❤
Great playing by satch, honoring the role, also looks like he's hittin weights and some trt
Professionalism at it's finest
Joe Satriani Can Play Anybody's Music Perfectly, The Man Is One Of The Greatest Guitarists Ever🎸
The GOAT 🎸🎼🎸
Satch always said, King Edward's stuff was simply.... well... King Edward. Then after really paying attention to his musical writing, Joe was blown away by the intricacies of Edward's music, which honestly, did not surprise him at all. He knew Edward Van Halen's legacy, new his stuff was first rate insanity, but was always more interested in creation of his own music rather than delving into others. After EVH, Mt. Rushmore #2 (Hendrix #1 even though I'm an Edward backer all the way, Hendrix was first game changer... as a result, well deserved) passed away, Satriani, who met Ed only a couple of times and share massive praise in return from Ed, he had no problem paying homage to the man. Joe, began learning more of Ed's work, got hooked, and stated (like so many guitar musicians) "his stuff is insane, but aggressively FUN to learn and plany." He also stated "One can still learn and play it and it will never be..... well....Edward."
I believe that is an intellectually fair and honest statement from Satch. After all, how many musicians can learn Joe's music and techniques? All (guitar) musicians KNOW that as much as one tries to emulate the truly innovated, original sounding and just jaw-dropping music structure ever done with a rock and roll guitar, there are those that just make even EXPERTS like Satch, scratch their heads. King Edward was just a different animal. He didn't have to learn guitar.... the guitar had to learn EDWARD. Intended comment here, if there is anyone that can do a tribute tour for the rock and roll guitar GOD, Edward Van Halen...............
Joe Satriani is the PERFECT guy to do it. Satch stated early when this tribute tour was in int's infancey, that he had some "hard work" to do. As it went on, Satch said (no differntly than even Steve Vai) 'Ed's stuff is crazy.... and a LOT of fun to play to learn."
But Joe always was quite clear as being the guy to be the brunt of the Edward Van Halen replacement: "I'm not Eddie. I don't want to be Eddie. But I want to be a musician who can give the great Edward Van Halen justice. I can't be Edward, but I can only do my best to emulate him....... but not as Edward Van Halen..... but as remaining Joe Satriani. I can never be Edward. Who can."
I'm paraphrasing here, but let's be honest. Satch is CLEARLY the perfect guy for his insurrmountable task. Thank you Joe. Your expertise as a player and TEACHER makes you the perfect sponge to figure out King Edward the best anyone can. I would LOVE to have a ticket on this Best Of All Worlds tour. Satch, is simply awesome in his own right. King Edward? May you shred in peace with the rest of the insane guitar players beyond the pearly gates. You are missed.
Perfectly said. Joe has been my guy my whole life even though I always loved Eddie. I wish Eddie would have done an instrumental album...how great would that have been?
Well said ,, RIP King Edward

Joe’s head hair made it to his arms! Damn!
They rocked the hell outta Dallas! Glad to see that 114 degree heat index didn’t stop them. Such great entertainers
I was at that show and it was great. Saw 5150 live and damn perfect.
That’s how it’s done kids…no effing backing tracks!! Welcome to the 80`s, the greatest era in rock and roll IMO❤
i was there. amazing show!
Sounds Great!!!!!!
We love Mike too
I saw them in Charlotte and it was incredible. I always wanted to see Joe - Jason, too. Also, kudos to Kenny Aronoff for stepping in recently. If they haven't done it already, I imagine Kenny will walk out on stage wearing Joe's guitar at some point just to punk everybody.
@@sjdanthem biggest fan since 88 when I first heard always, and the crush of love played on kshe 95 out of st Louis. I've never gotten to see him live :(
I feel this effort is Edward approved🙏
Ed couldn't have played Crushing Day solo...Joe is soooo under appreciated..
Kenny is always reading charts!
It is wild that Eddie and ALex wanted Sammy in the very begining.. David still did a great job. I miss the 80s and 90s
Also.want to say that Van Halen had their lead singer all.along. Mike lit it up when he sang.
This rocks azz!!!!!!!!!
Jeez! I saw Sammy open for Boston in 1979 at the Capitol Centre, which was demolished in the 90s, I think. Time flies!
🎼🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Joe is a badass👍😆
fuckn nailed it , great job satch!!!!!!
I saw them on opening night in West Palm. They were awesome that night and it looks like they were awesome in TN as well!!
Satch.....awesome....that is all.
GREAT STUFF
SAW THE SHOW IN PHOENIX. JUST A BAD ASS PERFROMANCE BY EVERYBODY
That guy looks like the guitarist for the Squares.
I love this awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome
Think you joe S so awesome
Joe can play anything, he even knows Diddley! 😊
BS
Sure its not EVH but Joe did it justice and better than I am sure most would. Eddie could play with so much swing. He's hard to copy!
Only knowing Joe Satrianni through watching him in interviews and playing. Not personally I feel the vibe he truly loves playing Eddys songs for Eddys fans. Love Joe
Obviously doesn’t sound like Ed, but a great tribute and great playing. 🤘😎
Great sound and great video quality!! And Satch is just the only possible man to play this stuff. Does anybody know if a complete recording of the gig is available? In any case, thanks for sharing this song
Smokin Joe
Smoking Joe 💕
Hey Joe you don’t have Eddie’s weird guitar 🎸 how you gonna play this song? Joe “hold my beer 🍺”….nailed it!
Eddie used a Steinberger guitar for this song.....Wish I had one.
They sound great…
Joe is so good, but this is epic!
Hey, what happened to Jason Bonham ?????😮 That's Kenny Aronoff playing the drums 🥁!!!! 😂❤❤😊😄😃
@@michaelbujanda8785 yup! Jason had to fly out to London for a family emergency two days ago and Kenny was called in to take his place and he only had 24 hours to learn the songs 🤯🙌🎸🔥
@@MastersofShred What!!! ???? 24 hours!!! To learn all those songs 🎵!!! That's an incredible daunting 😲 task!!! Wow Kenny is a professional session player!!! 👏 bravo !!! I comend him for that!!! Thanks for posting!!! 😃

Kinda reminds me of Ozzy bringing in Brad Gillis shortly after Randy Rhoads died.
Gillis had less than a week to learn the whole set on the Diary tour. I could be wrong…
Top musicians for sure!
@@MastersofShredKenny is one of the only ones that could have pulled that off he is a legend.
@@GrumpyMJK Brad Gillis had to learn ozzy in 4 days , I have the magazine about that , It was speak of the devil album .He was mad cause people were putting him down on the album , His excuse was he had to learn it all in 4 days

Joe's tone going hard, best he's had I think.
Saw them in Concord, CA. Outstanding show. Decades of talent. Wonder what happened to Jason for this show? Joe said hey I know a guy. Drummer was on Joe's last tour😊
Thats Kenny Aranoff... incredible session guy. Hes a human metronome with 4 independent limbs.
I was there in concord as well! Incredible
great. was u not able to shoot full show?
Satch is in my top 3 favorite rock guitarists of all time. He brings a different flavor to the Van Hagar band. I like it. It's definitely different sound than Eddie.
I love Michel Anthony
i have seen the circle 3 times already....love it
What’s Orlando Bloom doing on stage playing the Strat?
