  • We have jumped outside to answer what we are most often asked - to show more of Peter working on location. Natural light is Peter’s favourite, and a lot of the time he finds stunning light in the ugliest locations - like car parks, as he is able to get a direction of light from all the different railings and concrete blocks. In this tutorial, Peter demonstrates how he finds and sees natural light around a local carpark, proving that you really do not need a huge studio to creat gorgeous beauty portraits.

This is truly what every natural light photographer should be spending there time doing is recognizing these types of lighting scenerios. I’m constantly looking at beautiful light even when I’m not carrying a camera. Through in an occasional reflector for a bit more control and you have some great photos. Thanks guys.

I am stunned, I have always avoided these types of locations when someone asks me for a photoshoot. As well as the harsh sunlight on midday. I will no longer avoid these hours and / or locations.
Just look for the shadow, put your subject in there and watch as the world provides soft light via reflections of asphalt or brick walls. I learned heaps from this video, thanks!
If I could, I would go to inspire and pay you all some money per year to learn more...

And after watching this, we'll for the first time I actually understand the term "chasing the light ". This is the very best example I have ever seen.
