Is It Like Today?
Mystery Girl
What and incredible loss to the world of music, thank you Karl for all of your gifts you left us on your short journey here.
I'm still singing this song every week at any given time. With this Karl will live forever
Excellent performance of the best song ever written.
Rip …. His Legacy is the great music …. Great song
We lost so many great artists in recent memory, the loss of Karl Wallinger on March 10, 2024 hit me the hardest. Such a brilliant song, beautiful performance, incredible artist, maker of timeless art.
I've never once seen this song performed without loving it, whether it was by Karl/World Party or someone else covering it. It's just a fantastic song that can carry just about any voice, style, or setting. I hope Karl's as proud of it as I think he should be.
I just learned Karl died earlier this year and ended up watching this again. I'm just gutted. I should be glad we got a good few more years out of him after his brain aneurysm almost killed him, but it just floors me that he's gone for real this time. 😢 I still hope he was proud. Love you, Karl. ❤️
I remember loving this song summer 1993 the year I graduated high school. Still sounds great
what a dream..good wine and good music....
That Karl could even talk after a brain hemorrhage is one miracle, that he could still perform is astonishing
I knew I would love this recording in the first second.
I had the pleasure of seeing a show similar to this in Cbus. The venue is called The Basement On a rainy Tuesday night. What a sweet treat that was, GoodbyeJumbo is one of my all time favorite records. ❤️
What memories this brings back!
Love this!
Nice. Reminds me of the small gig at the Albert Hall Blues Fest. (Though the big one with full band was mind-blowing!)
Great rendition!
Lyricsstill strike us 30yrs after the relaease of the song.
He's pretty good at writing timeless, yet meaningful, stuff. Ship of Fools is another good example, really ought to be a current hit.
wunderful
It's not good enough that Karl has gone. It's just not right - his craft will forever speak for itself but it never got the recognition it deserved. My man - my wife and I loved you and I'm just not happy youy're gone.
