    Thank you Brandon. I just took possession of my blue 4xe last week. I pulled the trigger after binge watching all of your videos. Thank you again for all you do.

    Just don't confuse snow rated tires with dedicated winter snow tires. BIG difference in snow performance.

    Hi. Brandon also when windshield wipers are on. Jeep head lights turn on Automatically and that is the law

      In some states yes. You can turn that off in your setting in the radio.

      That would be a stupid feature, just like daytime running lights that you can't control yourself...

    my KO2 are M+S and also have the Three Peak snowflake so they're great in winter.
    Keep the videos coming! Happy New Year 2022

    Where I live there are mountain passes that have restrictions for winter driving. "Must carry chains or use Winter tires" during certain times of year. If you are caught with M+S tires and not dedicated Winter Tires- it's a ticket! Stick to driving in town with those. Stay safe out there!

    • @CurmudgeonExtraordinaire
      @CurmudgeonExtraordinaire 2 роки тому

      They are not going to know unless you get stuck though... They can't tell just by looking at your vehicle that you don't have chains in the trunk... But, when you slide off the road, that is one more thing that they will be able to write you a ticket for so that they can supplement their department's income...

      @@CurmudgeonExtraordinaire They will check. They *DO* check. Do *NOT* try to drive a mountain pass and get around a Mountie Road Safety road block. The sign says "MUST carry chains or use WINTER tires" You think the Mounties won't check? It is the LAW not a recommendation. You must show proof of compliance.
      Granted, the road blocks are not always up and running but I came to a pull-out once and they had twenty to thirty cars pulled over. Nowhere to go. Pull over and get inspected.

      @@marceld6061 -- Oh, ""Mounties", huh? I guess that makes you a Canadian... You probably don't have the same rights as we do because of your history with Britain... I suspect that sort of "prove you are innocent" tactics would be illegal here in the US... Hell, I could drive *slicks* on ice and snow around here and no one would care... They might wonder where I found the ice and snow though, considering the fact that I live near the Gulf Coast... :)

    • @marceld6061
      @marceld6061 2 роки тому

      @@CurmudgeonExtraordinaire And yes, I am happy to have those 'rights" too. That way I don't have to worry about some idiot with slicks sliding all over the road crashing into me and anyone else. Keeps us all safe.
      And it is still 'innocent until proven guilty' here. We have a blend of French and British law. Not sure if you know but the colour (yes, I spell it with the "U") on road signs have meaning, too. WHITE road signs are *laws*. Yellow road signs are *cautionary* and not law but recommended, especially for large vehicles. Blue are attractions and driver assistance signs, Green are directional (streets/ routes/ exits). So if the police suspect that you are breaking the law, they have the right to check your compliance. They have similar laws in Oregon and Washington State too. Good luck with your attitude with a State Trooper. They keep they hats flat and straight like a Mountie. "Not very flexible". Best to stay where you are. We'll all be safer.

      @@marceld6061 -- A few year back, a Texas DPS Ranger stopped me late one night because the light for my license plate was out. Upon being stopped, I told him I had an M1A and 800 rounds of ammo sitting on the backseat of my pickup and M1911 on my side. His reaction? -- "Good choice... I've always like those..." No ticket... Just two bulbs which had both lost contact with the socket at the same time... I suspect that would not have gone down up there so smoothly...
      Now, when I was over in the UK a few years driving around, my impression of the police that I encountered in the pubs and other places was that they were EXTREMELY polite... I have to think that they would actually APOLOGIZE to someone if they had to arrest him... The US vs THEM attitude between the police and the citizens just doesn't seem to have developed over there.... It's like they actually believe that they are there to HELP people... Probably due to the Peelian Principles... Plus not having the type of demographics that we have...

    Your videos have me wanting to get a Jeep again. But I'm 6'4" and the rear view mirror felt really low when I did a test drive. Do you know of any way I could either raise it up? I read somewhere that you can flip it, but the guys at the dealership were unwilling to try it.
