She was a great actress, her timing was impeccable, she had charm, her characters are memorable, she had spirit, a great sense of humor and she had great taste in costars. I don't know where to start with her movies. I've seen them 8 or 9 times. It's sad that she never had any kids, I think she would have made a great mother and a great grandmother. She was the best actress.......ever

As a child watching her in movies beginning in the sixties, when faces were remembered but I was too young for names to mean anything to me yet, I could always identify her because she was the fastest speaking actress on the screen. I must include that I especially loved Katherine in 'On Golden Pond' late in her career.

The fact that she got 4 oscars for playing herself is an achievement. My favourite movie of hers is "The Lion in Winter". It's such an emotional and heartbreaking movie. I loved her and she will be remembered forever for centuries. R.I.P. (May 12th 1907-June 29th 2003).
