Great video! What a. Exciting time we live in where you can get 4k for so cheap. Crazy. Ive never been a huge fan of action cam look, but i may have to look into this one for some crash cam stuff. Cheers!
Hi mr. Alex, i use an older akaso camera and i would love to see a video tutorial in da vinci on how to make a good (enough) looking video with a budget camera (which has a not so good quality). like what little edits can i do to help improve the video quality (like how do i make it look abit better in terms of quality and color).
I just got this a few weeks ago. I used it down in the Dominican Republic. I did use it in a bit of waves and such at the beach, but never submerged it. When I got home, I could not get the little doors which hold the battery and the ports for the HDMI and micro charging ports open. I was holding the buttons down, and trying with all my might to slide those doors open, and they would not budge. I had to get a pairing knife to get them to budge and then I got them the rest of the way open. I also found that it would not turn on even though it was using a battery which was 50% charged. So, I would say this thing is mechanically very sub-par. It seemed to take good video. But, when using the app to try and watch the videos, it stopped about 30 seconds in and would not resume. The camera was frozen at this point, and I had to hold the power button down just to get it to turn off. It would then not turn back on. Just praying the SD card kept my video I took on vacation. Final thoughts: HOT GARBAGE! Can't wait to return to Amazon.
Good one! Happy for You! Not a bad cam? But is the focus a challenge with this one, or is it just my eyes? Keep up the great work, please! Hugs to the style and quality You share! All well, RogerThat!
Good video but wasn't too impressed with the image quality. Do you think it lost much quality due to UA-cam's compression? Also, in your review, if you can try if the camera records powered by a powerbank, I'd apreciate it. I record my motorcycle tours and usually record for a few hours on my GoPro Hero 1. Another sunny day in Solihull! (did I get it right?)
Haha you did get it right! We've got more sun yay! 😆 I'll do a full 4k sample for everyone so hopefully that demonstrate the quality better. My intial thoughts are that the 4k quality is decent (not the best, but good enough) in good, bright light but it definitely starts to decrease in low light. I also think there's too much sharpening for my liking too.
yes and no, it has compression all over the place but the quality is okay viewing at 4k, but viewing it at less than 1080 here on youtube makes the compression more visible and thats the area where a go pro 5 6 7 or 8 really beats cheaper action cams which is to say go pros have better image quality.

@@MrAlexTech great, thanks :). I do motovlogs and use SJCAM SJ7 STAR since two years (mostly in 1080p 50 and 60 fps) and I wonder how this Akaso would compare in these modes.

It's mid November, and I've just destroyed ANOTHER (2nd this year), camera! So I now looking at these with them being waterproof (to a point) without a case..... So, any chance now of a follow up video...???
Is this still a good entry level choice in 2022? And would this be any good as first camera for mounting on a helmet in order to go motorcycle riding? Thank you in advance.
I'm running the EK7000 as it's cheap and if it goes over the side it's less £££ lost. Looking at the Brave... I thought they may have fitted a 3.5mm jack for an external mic - which you then fit a wind muff / dead cat to lessen wind noise... Also, I see the mini USB ports are now under flap... Again, not so good for me when it comes to battery changes, as I'm now running my camera off a power brick. Set the camera away and no need to worry if the camera has run out of power and stopped without you knowing....
Nope, no 3.5mm unfortunately. They do sell a lav style external mic for pretty cheap but I'm not sure if it's compatible with this one, I'll have to try find out. The flap is necessary for the water resistance I'd assume however, it doesn't seem to be removable. With the DJI action, the flap pops off for exactly the reason you describe but that's not the case with the brave. How do you find the EK7000? It's crazy cheap at the minute!
@@MrAlexTech The EK7000 does the job I need. What I have noticed with these though is the actual mini USB socket is a weak point in my eyes... I've had 2 so far 'collapse' inside - into the camera body. I've not yet found a camera that doesn't needs a housing to make it waterproof AND, be able to run for a considerable time without the hassle of regular battery changes**. Hence the power brick.... **I'm on a kayak, and so space and jumping about to change batteries etc is limited. I just need something where I can mount it, press record, leave it running, then stop it when done....
The reason I'm considering the Akaso Brave is that, unlike other Akaso cameras, audio stays in sync. (The others apparently start dropping frames after 3 minutes or so.) So, two questions: does the Akaso Brave 6 hold audio sync (no dropped frames) over long shots? Also, please ask Akaso if they ever intend to produce an external mike for it. (They are closed-hardware; other Akasao cam only take Akaso's own mikes. I would probably buy a Zoom recorder for really good audio and sync it to the video.)
I'm heading on a camping trip at the end of July and wanted to record some rock climbing while I'm with friends. This camera seems like a pretty great value. I hate that there's no external mic support but I'll likely get a separate device to record audio and sync it later. I just ordered the camera and Should get it in 2 days.
