Yamada wanted to get some milk tea before they went to the publisher but she was rushed along, my guess is that she really supprised and happy that he remembered that
I have heard from manga readers that Yamada "really" falls for him only after receiving the milk tea. She also kept that bottle in her room.

This. Many first time watcher missed this, but this is one of the strong point this show have, they always keep a small detailed that ypu won't notice if you only watch it once.

Now that I realized, Yamada had kept the bottle. She appears in episode 2 of the second season.

Honestly this scene is quite ambiguous. On the panel that she turns it might be just because Serina called Yamada's attention. There is attention in her eyes but it is not clear she noticed him.
Here skipped showing her eyes but still doesnt mean much exactly.
This show does romance the cute way, the small acts, the acts of love when youre worried about someone.
I missed such a show for so long.
The soundtrack along with the slow-mo animation during the library scene was just phenomenal. From this episode the show changed its status from "good" to "great" imo.

I couldn't be happier that people enjoy watching this series this much. It also pains me when he doesn't think he is worthy of her attention, but it is understandable considering the difference in their social standings, although she gives him pretty clear signs. To be fair to him, some girls can be clingy to friends, so he doesn't want to misinterpret her actions. Thank you for reacting to this series! Can't wait for S2, and the manga is good as well.
