Yeah, it's a lot funner when they aren't your own bees escaping. lol Yeah, I'm glad to have that out of here. Waiting for it to dry up now so I can get my water tank into the hole. Thanks for watching.
Thanks LDR. The weather got downright nasty. 4.5" rain and golf ball hail. I don't know if they would have survived that hail storm. Thanks for watching.
The fun of Swarms... its one of the funnest parts of bee keeping. The queen in a bottle formula is something new for me. Like usual I really appreciate all of your information on your videos. Learn stuff all the time on this channel. If your new to bee keeping subscribe to this channel.
Hi Dave. Yeah, that last bunch didn't want to go in for some reason. I suspect because that virgin queen was still up in the tree, even after I cut that limb off. I picked her up when I went back up there with that frame of comb on it. Once they smelled that pheromone, they started right in there. Thanks for watching.
I use one of those trim poles with the the ropes on them. I think they extend about 12'. It has a 5 gal bucket cut in half and a butterfly net ran down thru it and hooked to the pole. Works good! Might keep u from falling out a tree. Keep the videos coming. Stay safe!
My first thought was cut the tree branch off. Man that was a workout for ya no doubt. Good luck on the other one. To bad ya don't have a friend with a bucket truck. Stay safe and have a great rest of the week!
Hey Mr CB. Yeah I don’t know why I didn’t just cut it off in the first place. 😂. If I had more time I think they would have worked there way down there. This was right before the big 4.5” of rain and hail storm. Take care.
Hi Bradley. Yeah, it's a super nice saw and very affordable. If you already have the battery and charger, it's really cheap. I also have the chainsaw, cultivator and string trimmer with edger attachment. They all work great.
Not really, but it doesn't take much to get me gassed any more. lol How's your hives doing? I noticed today our big memosa tree is dead from the freeze. I didn't think a big tree could freeze out.
Sorry about your lose. The first hive was so calm there must be a queen ready to lay. Have you tried to drill a hole 2 3/4" in the center of your lid? I have used that method and avoided robbing so far. I have heard that front feeders invite robbing especially where there are a lot of hives. Thanks for the video and I hope you have a good week. Slash is going to have a huge rack again the way it looks.
Hey Russell. I do have a couple Nuc lids with the jar lid hole on top, but they were in use on #4 and #18. I try not to use those entrance feeders, but fell to temptation. That may very well have been the culprit. Odd thing is that they were starved. Maybe they starved because they got robbed. Yeah, I'm anxious to see how Slash's rack turns out. Thanks for stopping in.
I had one yesterday that I watched come out of one of my hives and went to a nearby cedar. Got my bucket on a pole and on 4 attempts they kept going back. When I thought I had them I went inside only to find out 30 minutes later that all went back up. On the 5th try they decided they'd had enough an left. There had to be 2 queens that had them confused.
Yeah, you have to get that queen. If she’s still up there, they tend to go back. Cutting the limb off and putting it on top of the hive is the best way, but not always an option. Sorry that you lost them.
Hey Ronnie, I'm pretty sure these are mine because they were right in front of my hives. There are a couple of beekeepers around me though. Thanks for stopping in.
Darren, glad you got them! Things just don’t always go as you plan them but that’s beekeeping!
Hey Don. If you couldn't tell, I don't do a lot of swarm catching. lol I'll be going for the saw first next time probably. Thanks for watching.
Wow that was some work 😱 Stay safe and happy beekeeping 🐝🐝🐝
Thanks HH. Same to you.
Gotta do what ya gotta do! Glad you were able to re-capture your bees... and hey stop sending all that bad weather up our way! LOL

Success after an epic battle! And just in time for the weather moving in.
Thanks LDR. The weather got downright nasty. 4.5" rain and golf ball hail. I don't know if they would have survived that hail storm. Thanks for watching.
You had to really work for that swarm, but darn that's big. WooHoo
Hey Uncle Bob. I've worked harder for less. lol It turned out good though. Those were two really nice sized swarms. Thanks for watching.

Its all in fun 😉 I think so to! 👍 That and harvesting HONEY and WAX

I'm so glad I haven't had to catch swarms. Maybe I'll take a peak in my 2 hives today.
Hey OkieRob. I miss your bee videos. Maybe you should start making fishing videos. lol Hail did a number on my onions. Take care.

I've seen those. I need to look into getting something going on a pole. Thanks for the idea.
Waiting for part II!
Part 2 posts tomorrow morning. 👍👍🐝🐝

thats a nice saw , that thing looks like it comes in very handy
Hi Bradley. Yeah, it's a super nice saw and very affordable. If you already have the battery and charger, it's really cheap. I also have the chainsaw, cultivator and string trimmer with edger attachment. They all work great.
Cool your doing it
Got it. lol Thanks for watching.
Lots of work!!

Some beekeepers have had success using Honey Robber spray on the limbs after shaking the swarm to keep them from landing back on the branches.
Yeah, that's a good idea. They went back so fast though, I'd be spraying the bees with it. lol Thanks for stopping in.
good video great effort
Thanks! Appreciate you watching and commenting.
I always use a five gallon bucket attached to a pole. A good thumb and pour into hive. Just too easy.
I've seen that done. I need to make me one of those. I was thinking about attaching it on pvc pipe, that way I could add 10' sections.
Well I see you just did great minds think a like 👍🏾 😂
Yeah, I was a little slower getting there though. 😅. Thanks for watching and commenting.
You keep stepping on the grass we’re the Bee’s landed
I was being careful not to step on them. Not to say some didn't get stepped on. Thanks for watching.
Wow! That was a two-boxer to begin with. It's been a crazy year for swarming, for sure!
It was good sized for sure. Once the queens get bred and are laying, I'll probably go ahead and put a second deep on them. Thanks for watching.

Curious as to how you made up that solution with dead queens, Thanks!
Hi Robert. It's just isopropyl alcohol and a couple queens in the little dropper. Thanks for watching.

Any idea which hive(s) the swarms came from?
I suspect #6. It had multiple cells in it and these were virgin queens, or what they call cast swarms. Thanks for stopping in.
I think at this point I would have cut the whole tree down 😂
Like I hope I can do
Got it done. You can do it too. Just don't fall out of a tree, that would be bad. lol Take care.
That is so cool. So when you see a swarm, are they out of your bees? or are they from a somewhere else?
Hey Ronnie, I'm pretty sure these are mine because they were right in front of my hives. There are a couple of beekeepers around me though. Thanks for stopping in.
@@JeromeBeeFarm I got ya. I always wonder about that.
