That was so much fun to watch. My in laws keep bees but I never heard about a swarming till I took a library class and your video. I hope everyone is ok from the stings. I know you got Apis on hand.
Apis has worked WONDERS. At least 3 of us have been stung this season already and we have had no issues. Levi and Bentley both got popped in the head basically, with no swelling.
Looking like a pro! I love honey bees i know there is a wild hive close by us there is way to many. Sometimes I'll just sit out in the yard and watch them work on all the clover and dandilions, they bring me peace❤🐝
@@SageandStoneHomestead I've tried to find it and was very close cause i heard the humming and seen the bees flying in that direction coming from our clover field, unfortunately it's not on our property and the guy who's property on which it is located is not very nice. But i may try getting a swarm trap and put near our property line seems like a perfect spot cause our pond is close and the clover and tree line. Last time we was at the local farm stores their beginners beekeeping kit was onsale so maybe we'll have some good luck!?❤🐝🍯🤞
Hello Heather. Nollie here. I'm on my cell phone. I came to an indoor playground with my daughter and granddaughter and just sitting here enjoying your video. I love every single one of your videos.
Thanks so much! I've loved being a beekeeper. Reading about them and watching other videos from backyard beekeepers like Frederick Dunn have been where I've been able to suck up that information! And, put it to use! ❤
Frederick Dunn's friday Q and A swssions are the best. He usually has timestamps in the pinned comment or description with the questions listed so you can get targeted answers to questions you may have. He is such a wealth of information and has helped me so much!
So thankful for people like you that can deal with bees. I love honey & have a healthy respect for the honeybees & let them be but I couldn't ever take care of them. Is there any way to know if the swam came from someone else's hives?
Some people number their queens with tiny little tags. Besides that, I don't know if there is a real way of knowing. I guessed based on where they were and the state of my colonies at the last inspection that they came out of mine. One of my hives had 12 or so capped swarm cells about 5 days before I caught this one, and another a few days later! The hive I thought they came from is decreased in numbers and so I'm guessing I was correct. I'll look at them this week and make sure their new queen mated and came back. 😊
