This is a fantastic example of how to engage someone with different beliefs. He points out the flaws in their belief and logic, but does it respectfully and with love. He asks them to charity what they believe and allows them to respond to his points as well.

Well, one "Person of", or who "fully shares in" God (Jesus) is supposedly praying and speaking to a another Person of, or who fully shares in the same one God (the Father). Along with the "Person of" the Holy Spirit as well.

Among the many other absurdities of Trinitarian theology, it actually would lead to schizophrenia.
Which is why Trinitarians have to actually try and argue for two levels of philosophical craziness.
1) To separate a "person" from their "being." So God can supposedly be multiple Persons in the same one Being.
2) Then to separate a "person" from having a distinct "personality." So God can be multiple Persons, yet have only one personality to avoid God having multiple personalities or schizophrenia.

The first issue with mormonism (as an ex mormon) is they don't believe the Bible to be fully true, so when you give them biblical scriptures that don't line up with the Book of Mormon, they will dismiss those biblical scriptures.They just don't even look at them at all as truth. So, helping them understand the correctness of the Bible is the beginning to help them see how faulty the Book of Mormon is which leads into their false prophets. Give them facts on the correctness of the Bible, because it's a slippery slope further away from the Bible if they realize the church isn't true without knowing the Bible is true. make sense?

But your claim is false. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints DO believe the Holy Bible to be the Word of God. We just don’t take the luxury of picking and choosing only verses that cater to our isolated interpretations. Hence the plethora of different evangelical churches, vague doctrines and practices.
Simple example: “Father remove this cup” “Not my will but Thy will be done”. If ya do the math, that’s two wills at play here.
I, as a Christian, put all other beliefs under Paul's words in Galatians chapter 1. If someone is preaching a gospel other than the one he, and the other apostles gave. Let them be under God's curse. Which “true gospel”? There are many “Christian” churches which have different takes on what the “true gospel” entails and they read various Bible translations. You talk like there is only one. Other than Christ being the center there is little other consensus.

I’ll have to respectfully disagree. LDS perspective has a good amount of scriptures to back it’s doctrine (mostly found DIRECTLY in the Bible) Nature of God, preexistence, role of Jesus Christ, faith, baptism, tithing, multiple “glories” in heaven, Christ’s church, proper Priesthood authority. Ask and it can be shelled out.
The issue is the inconsistent interpretations of Christians using the “finding the Mona Lisa on toast method.” They’ll interpret a plain and obvious scripture however way they want. Make century old decrees on their own interpretations. I mean there are 45,000 official Christian denominations in the world and you’re telling me everything is clear on our understanding alone?
Why are you placing more faith in your interpretation (mind) without the confirmation from God himself (through the Holy Spirt/testifier)?
James 1:5 - 6 “Lack wisdom” ? “let him ASK of God NOTHING WAVERING”. Book of Mormon also confirms this invite in Moroni.

There are many “doubting” Thomases that must see all evidence (the Bible spelled out their way) to say they can believe something is true. Yet that’s not how the Lord completely works. One must ask God (after sincere study and pondering) to know if things are true.

Mormons believe that Jesus is equal to the Father. They share the exact same nature & substance. The only difference, when it comes down to it, is Mormons believe in the Godhead being different “beings,” perfectly unified in purpose and desire, and evangelicals believe in the Godhead being different “persons” but the same “being”. Both can be justified by scripture, depending on the lens that you look through to understand.

What you’ve said here including SDA’s isn’t true. We do not claim exclusive rights to heaven. We believe that most of God’s people are in the other churches.
God’s Word (Joel 2, Acts 2) says that He will give visions to His people in the last days, and they will prophesy. So according to the Bible that is a characteristic among God’s people in the last days. Revelation 12:17, when explained by Revelation 19:10 and 22:9 confirms that prophecy will be among a commandment keeping people. This is purely Bible. And I have absolutely no problem sticking with the Bible and the Bible alone.

Is it not biblical that there are multiple gods? We might disagree how to interpret it, but Jesus Himself affirmed it, at least, in John 10.

The important fact, taught by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is that God the Father, His Beloved Son, and the Holy Ghost are one in purpose but separate in entity. We will never stop being subject to Them, even as we may become gods under them through Christ's redeeming and enabling grace.

They’ll just default to: “the Bible has been changed so it’s unreliable” which is an LDS teaching too. When you say “scripture” the Bible is #4 on the list of reliability, unless we’re talking J Smith’s Bible “translation” which is a mess.
The Bible has been changed, or translated and retranslated several times. Many languages do not fully translate back and forth. The Joseph Smith translation of the Bible is no more a “mess” than any other translation. All are subject to the interpretation of the translator. Unless you are able to read and interpret the original text yourself, you are always at the mercy of the person or persons who translated what you are reading.
There are 5,700 New Testament Greek manuscripts known to exist.
In fact, the Bible is perhaps the best preserved ancient book, having more manuscripts originating from primary sources than any other work in the Greco-Roman world.
The amount Mormons have shifted from their original views towards Protestantism is shocking. By just talking to one of these guys you would think we have similar beliefs, but looking at their actual doctrine tells a different story.

That’s not even half of Mormon beliefs. I’ve done a few brief studies on what they believe and it way more heretical and out there then what is portrayed in this video. If I’m not mistaken, they believe there’s huge number of gods but in different universes, I think I don’t know if universe is the word. They believe Jesus, and Satan are brothers, I feel disrespectful, even saying that, but they believe even if they can become gods with theirs on universe and spirit wives one day. They do believe that the Father, theSon and the Holy Spirit are three gods. They also have a very strange view on being led by the spirit that I don’t fully understand it has something to do with authority and possibly overriding scripture. They also have other books that they hold up in authority with scripture. Thru also have works is a part of their “salvation”
Another heretical group to be very careful of his Jehovah’s Witnesses. I love all people and pray for every single one of their salvations , but their doctrines not only have false gospels, but a false Jesus is and false gods overall.

Well at the end of the day. Jesus said honor thy father who is in heaven. And if you fear anybody fear the father alone for he is the only one who can condemn the soul to hell. He also was the fulfilling of the Scriptures therefore he took on the law was the law and took on our sins. Therefore he could not have fulfilled the law if he didn’t put the father God before him. He also announced that he who does the father‘s will is my mother and my brother. Stating a fact to the disciples and the people who was listening to him that his family did not come before them. For he who does thy father‘s will is my family and is my brother. He also brings up in the New Testament. To be as the God I am. Don’t be like the gods of nature. So now getting to he is the word he was the beginning as well as the end. He is stating that he is the breath of life that was spoken from the father at the beginning of time. Therefore he stated he who has seen me has seen my father. Because if the father spoke everything into existence, Jesus being his son which was the living word, it is as if he is the father himself yet it was the father that was speaking. Through him. That’s why he says he who knows me I will stand with when it comes to judgment day. The father being the judge. To back up that statement. Is when he spoke and said that there will be many who have done miracles in my name that I did not know. It goes to show even when we debate certain matters. It should be done wholeheartedly, it should not lead to confusion, and it should not divide us amongst each other in a way where we become each other’s enemies. I know at the same time it’s up to us to choose! For he said your either with me or against me, there is no in-between. That’s why it’s harder on fence walkers! And That’s why after he resurrected and spoke to the disciples he said it is my time to go. The disciples asked where are you heading. Jesus stated I am headed to the father who is your father. For I’m going to my God who is your God. To be honest, if you step back Jesus was bringing us back to the grace of the father God. Therefore him being the shepherd of the flock makes perfect sense. Which is crazy bc he is the perfect lamb who was shedded for us! Reminds me of the saying! To many chiefs not enough Indians! Sometimes listening and delivering can show more obedience and promotion. By actions that make more of an impact. That’s why he says I will glorify you by thy righteous hand. Sometimes we gotta be able to allow God to use us. In a way He gets the glory! Now I know there’s some off insights in religion from outer prospectives. And one day I hope we get it right! He paved the way. But if we had his touch of diligence. We’d set free! Bc he would tell a man with a vibration in his words, you are forgiven of your sins. Now go in peace! He was the Messiah!
That's why humans shouldn't think on its own accord but through God's thoughts. Since God's thoughts are above man's.
How do we know what god's thought is? From His words. Is the bible the words of god? Does the bible say that it is the verbatim words of god or it is authored by god?
If it doesn't, then we have to look for a scripture which, at least claim it is the verbatim words of god or it is from god. After finding one, we should assess and test it if it is really from god. If it is, we have no choice but to sincerely accept god's decree mentioned in such scripture.

One technique that I would highly recommend is on youtube “ the impossible gospel of Mormonism “ excellent videos that uses only LDS published documents to get them lost and leave them in that state until they have really had enough time to wrap their minds around it. If they ask you what you believe. If you give them the normal regular testimony of how you came to Christ, they look for a toehold to say “that’s what I believe ”. I very much enjoyed watching this video, but would ask these young men a question. We can agree God (the Heavenly Father) is omnipotent, no beginning and no end. He is the same yesterday, as He is today, as He will be tomorrow. THE SAME....never changing. That is scripture, as the young Pastore said to the LDS missionaries. God gives the commandment, "Thou shalt not kill." But then in Deuteronomy 20:15-16 God tells Joshua, ""15 Thus shalt thou do unto all the cities which are very far off from thee, which are not of the cities of these nations. 16 But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:" Then in Joshua 6:21, ""21 And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword." And again in Joshua 10:28, ""28 And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho." A lot of killing going on there.
What happened to the 'unchanging' God?
The scriptures as we know them have been translated time and time again. They have been changed from the original, yet the message of God and Jesus Christ still come through. The LDS folks are following a mostly a made-up religion, but still include just enough truth to make their message sound legitimate. Same goes for most of Christendom. Jesus said, "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak and he will shew you things to come." Really read and study the scriptures and look in-depth at what we have in them today. BELIEVE that the Heavenly Father will reveal the truth to you. "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" Matthew 7:7 Amen

Example: the notion that us Latter-Day Saints WORK for our part of our salvation and thinking Christ didn’t pay the full price is INCORRECT. It seems many can’t make the distinction between (an analogy) the baker who provided all the ingredients, work etc to provide a “cake””and then ask us (friends) to partake ourselves (amount of faith and effort) and to then see that others have to chance to partake as well. The “cake” (sacrifice/Atonement of Christ) was His alone to make/provide yet he asks us to be partakers (baptism, etc) and to then see that others have the opportunity. Pretty simple but others will say we think we had something to do with the “cake”preparation. That’s false. Notice Christ states IF you love me KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS. That’s how we partake (showing our faith, commitment, honor) by our efforts to be the workers in sharing the “cake” AKA Gospel of Jesus Christ.

When Satan told Eve and Adam that, he was deliberately alluding to the idea that they could take God's prerogatives in deciding what was good or evil while they were human and without God's character. 1 Jhn 3 says Christians will be like Christ, and Gen. 1:26 says man was created after the God kind. You mention the word "scriptures" to these Mormon missionaries, but they believe the Book of Mormon is also scripture. When you say "scriptures" to a Mormon, they think of their "quad" that they carry to church on Sundays. It contains the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, the Pearl of Great Price, and the Bible with Joseph Smith's translations/changes to it and they are taught the Bible is not translated correctly. They also believe that the speeches of Mormon prophets are scripture, but only the most current prophet in case it conflicts with anything else... So the word "scripture" has been ruined for them. It is best to just speak of the Holy Bible, KJV without Joseph Smith's changes.

I grew up in the Mormon church and I can tell you that there’s a reason why they have missionaries that are so young. These poor guys really have no idea what they’re talking about and they really have never thought critically about what their church teaches. The LDS, SDA, JW, Judaism and even Christians would twist scripture to suit their teachings. We all need to fact check teachings and make sure they align biblically. Be careful also of Bible versions thats inconsistent.

All three of them are polytheist. Wrap “three person” anyway you wish and it’s still the same. Poly still means more than one. All three of them are self-confessed polytheists saying 3 persons function together in one godhead in purpose. Three gods, one godhead(ship).
Watching and commenting as I watch. I am a Latter Day Saint. So yes we believe that Heavenly Father Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit are 3 distinct beings and that they are all God. However if we pay attention to the details this makes sense. Heavenly Father is above all. When we say we can also become gods it is a lowercase "g" Heavenly Father is the only God. Heavenly Father Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit constitute The Godhead though. This means they are one in purpose even if they are distinct personages. It is also more evident that they are different beings when we examine Jesus Christ being baptised and he was visited by The Holy Spirit in the form of a dove. What sense would it make if He visited Himself? Then in The Garden of Gethsemane Jesus Christ prayed to Heavenly Father (and again on The Cross). Why would Jesus pray to himself? That wouldn't make sense.
Now as far as teh fact that we can become gods goes I revert back to what I said before how it is a lower case "g" not an uppercase "G"/ This has a meaning and that is that Heavenly Father is always the supreme ruler and we are not surpassing Him. So why would we become gods at all then? Well because as children we are logicly to become like our Father. Is it Biblical? Yes and it is referenced in Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 3:5 Psalm 82:6 and this is just a few places it is mentioned. The missionary nailed it.
So your reference of being only one God is a capital G referring to only one supreme ruler.
As far as God's progression God is not confined by time so yes with a Godly perspective he can change. The unchanging aspect of God is His love and will. To say that He doesn't change ignores scriptures such as teh entire message of Ecclesiastes explained in chapter 3 that there is a time and a place for things. We tend to look at God metaphorically as a traffic sign but He is more like a traffic like. Teh traffic light does not stop being a traffic light because it gives different direction at different times. Much like how God tells us not to kill yet it is clearly expressed that there is a time for war and that at certain points in time people were told to take lives because it was God's will.
This does not mean that God is t=not the same it just means there is a time and a place and His love and will are eternal and have been teh same since before time started and will continue to be the same for all eternity.
