    Good to see it in the snow. I'm surprised that the shorter-box form factor of the 2dr did as well as it did. I live in Wisconsin, and planning to move back to central Idaho, so it's ability to handle bad weather is a must for me. I've been thinking about the 4dr purely for naturally better inclement weather handling, but 2dr (my preference) might still be viable.

Deep snow and super slick with challenging switchbacks but the truck powered thru it no problem. Wait till it dries up a bit and go for it again! I believe the trail goes about 40 miles.

  • @kx8960
    @kx8960 3 роки тому

    Nice footage! I've been on a little bit of the area around there, "little" due to the limitations of my 2010 RAV4 AWD V6 (which is actually a lot more capable than you'd think), but I made up my mind to get a Bronco Badlands Sasquatch V6 2dr. So, hope to get that before too long, and do some of these trails I couldn't do before (no skidplates, lockers etc.). Awesome that Moab actually got some decent snow and you could enjoy the scenery and trails, definitely beautiful. FYI, and not to bash you or anything because I've seen (heard) the same issue on most UA-cam channels, but you guys REALLY need a hard high-pass filter cutoff at maybe 180Hz. Those of us that watch these videos on home theater systems are inundated with boomy bass from the engine, bumping the mic etc. It forces us to turn down the volume so that we can hardly hear the voices. Those watching on their phones and PC's can't take advantage of the lower-end anyway, so, having the lower frequencies in the video has no benefits and only drawbacks IMO. Keep up the good work!

    • @JustinBMcBride
      @JustinBMcBride  3 роки тому

      Would you believe me if I told you I drop all low frequencies to negative infinity DB. It has something to do with UA-cam’s compression. My final edit vs my upload are almost night and day different. I’m constantly tweaking it. In fact, I just got a different mic for the driving shots. The last 3 videos are really my first 3 I filmed in the Bronco with this setup. I had no idea the mics I had on were so so bad until I got home to edit.
      It’s weird because I never had this issue filming any of my other trips. But I promise, I am working on it.

    We did the onion creek trail back in November and met the owners of that ranch. They were driving an old double axle tandem truck loaded with hay up to the ranch. There’s a reason that other trail was closed though. It’s completely different after the ranch. It gets gnarly, you end up going through Bouldery trail which takes you to a very steep climb on a shelf road of large boulders, loose sand, sketchy off camber driving, and once you start up there’s no turning around, You’re committed.. I’m not here to doubt but we were in my Jlu diesel rubicon on 37s and it was terrifying lol the tundra I’m afraid would’ve been too long and the Bronco possibly too short. Regardless that climb would be a death sentence For any rig in the snow, it’s good they had it closed. Hopefully you can go back once the snow is off. I’d like to see it done again, but from the comfort of the couch this time lol
