I had plans to do some road course action with the c6, but unfortunately it was just absolutely not set up for anything besides roll racing and just being a quick street car. I would really like to compete in Gridlife at some point, but being as I grew up going fast in a straight line I really have to get out of my comfort zone of the type of car I purchase as drag cars don't like to turn fast. If the car has brakes, oil and coolant it'll go straight fine, but it's weird for me to spend money on cooling and braking mods for the curves, hahaha. -Mike
@@TheLostCo I actually run a lot of gridlife events, you'd be surprised how little prep it needs to just get out there, but LS engines do like to oil starve with modern sticky 200 tw tires. Hit me up if you ever have any questions about gridlife, I'd be more than happy to help!

Thanks a ton for the feedback! What cars are you into specifically? I bought the Evo with nearly everything done, just needed a lot of fine tuning as the previous owner cut the build short. It had a GTX3576R turbo and every supporting mod. It made 480whp/360wtq, but it took some solid elbow grease to get it fully running. I spent a million hours deleting the MIVEC gears and doing timing, along with a clutch and tons of hours just fixing wiring and dealing with the tuning. The car had literally every suspension upgrade done and it was absolutely the best handling car I've ever experienced. -Mike

Hey Kent, thank you for the feedback! That's the main factor that has caused me to shy away from making a car channel. Working on cars is sort of frustrating and time consuming in the first place, and adding a camera to the mix just almost spells a recipe for disaster, haha. I have so much respect for channels like Devin Niemala, Evan Shanks, etc that just pump out crazy consistent car content.

Heck yeah, glad you liked the update! The WRX has been gone for a couple years. It was like $2,500 and a total beater, but honestly the most fun car I've ever had. Nothing like crashing it into banks of dirt and smacking shopping carts into it at the grocery store without caring one bit, haha. However, it was having some internal engine issues (good ol' EJ, haha) and I decided to sell it to someone as a project rather than putting money into it.

Built it up over the years and now i got it in the 8's in the quarter mile Naturally aspirated. Ive had alot of good times racing on the Southside of Chicago....
Holy crap... NO WAY! I lived in the 2nd house from Frosted Mug until I was 6!!! We used to walk over and get milkshakes there like 4 days a week, haha. That's crazy! Your fox body sounds rad too! I've had 2 fox bodies myself. 1 was a total POS and one was super mint, but ended up blowing up the motor after a valve retainer broke. 8's NA is freaking sweet!! Haha sweet I'm getting kind of pumped on a car channel with all of the positive feedback. Gonna need to get into a new platform sooner rather than later now. Moto stuff would be cool too, but man I honestly would have to sit down and think about what I would even make with moto stuff since I'm still not very familiar with the sport besides riding them, haha.

It happens for sure. Not going to lie, that's what has slightly turned me away from doing a car YT channel in the first place. It's sort of nice to just go tinker with stuff and step away at your leisure when you run out of time or get frustrated. Adding a camera to the mix just makes it a whole 'nother type of activity.

Thanks! For the non-widebody c6 there are literally no great options for fitment (both body fitment and tire sizing) besides the EC-7's. I really liked them and now sort of a big fan of Apex wheels, haha.

Hey Barrett, thank you for the kind words! Yep, I'm from Evergreen Park (next to Oak Lawn, south side suburb). The food in Chicago is definitely much better than the PNW (in my opinion at least). The pizza here is like an open-faced sandwich with 3 inches of arugula and balsamic glaze, and it's just uhh... not good, haha. I've been vegan for about 5 years now, but before that I extremely missed Rosati's, Barraco's, Rosangelo's, etc which were just local pizza places that I ate at all of the time. I really believe that if any Chicago area pizza joint opened a single store in the PNW they would make 1 million dollars the first month, hahahaahaha.
Great bike! But yes... the suspension is terrible, haha. I've had mine tuned by AMP and it's still just pretty terrible. Might sell the bike and just join the orange crowd with a KTM 300 XCW. If not, I'm gonna spend the money on new suspension for the front and rear of the Beta.
@@TheLostCo I’ve always been into older JDM cars, had a couple and put money into them. Finally decided to take a break. Have an older Subaru Legacy GT.. completely stock and no room for tuning right now 😂 but that’s ok because I’m spending on my MTB hobby 🤣
I'm down to wrench on cars, but for some reason I feel like a complete moron working on dirt bikes. I'll pull an engine and drivetrain from a car with no sweat, but the idea of changing an air filter on the dirt bike tweaks me out, haha.

I visited the shop a few weeks ago. Really expected the shop to have a more MTB feel. I know you and your team ride a lot, where Bellingham is a Mecca for riding in the PNW, but please check the shop. Example: Scott recently dropped the new Genius. Would be cool to stop by your shop and see the bike on the stand in the foyer, and actually get hands-on and technical acumen from a team member. Your shop is about less is more I guess, but press the, “a little more” button as constructive critique. Maybe more photos of you and your team riding the local trails. Wall tapestry would be awesome with action shots etc… Thanks for the updates. See ya around.
Thanks a ton for the feedback! I seriously appreciate that. Our last shop was much more like you explained: more of a "MTB feel" with bikes displayed and a much different vibe. However, we no longer really sell bikes because there are so many shops in Bellingham which are all already territorial dealers for every brand out there. We are not a Scott dealer, so we would not be able to have the new Genius, but they do look pretty sweet! Over 90% of our business is online, so we've decided to focus mostly all of our time and resources into the online aspect much more heavily than our small show room, but I do agree that it does need some pizazz. We really focus on the side of bikes that most shops don't, and that is the actual components and upgrading your existing bike. We're just a bit different from the average bike shop which is why our headquarters' is also a bit different than most. I've had 2 fox bodies myself. 1 was a total POS and one was super mint, but ended up blowing up the motor after a valve retainer broke.

Haha sweet I'm getting kind of pumped on a car channel with all of the positive feedback. Gonna need to get into a new platform sooner rather than later now. Moto stuff would be cool too, but man I honestly would have to sit down and think about what I would even make with moto stuff since I'm still not very familiar with the sport besides riding them, haha.
Mike, great video glad to see that you are riding Dirt bikes and building cars. I have shared the same passion for years and have now gotten into ridiing my EBike. Its cool to have other interests as doing only one sport or hobby can get boring sometimes. Look forward to seeing you in some up coming videos and I like you idea about a car youtube site. I can relate. Made my favorite hobby a job way back when. Kinda ruined the hobby for me being around it 24/7.
It happens for sure. Not going to lie, that's what has slightly turned me away from doing a car YT channel in the first place. It's sort of nice to just go tinker with stuff and step away at your leisure when you run out of time or get frustrated. Adding a camera to the mix just makes it a whole 'nother type of activity.

Thanks! For the non-widebody c6 there are literally no great options for fitment (both body fitment and tire sizing) besides the EC-7's. I really liked them and now sort of a big fan of Apex wheels, haha.

Hey Barrett, thank you for the kind words! Yep, I'm from Evergreen Park (next to Oak Lawn, south side suburb). The food in Chicago is definitely much better than the PNW (in my opinion at least). The pizza here is like an open-faced sandwich with 3 inches of arugula and balsamic glaze, and it's just uhh... not good, haha. I've been vegan for about 5 years now, but before that I extremely missed Rosati's, Barraco's, Rosangelo's, etc which were just local pizza places that I ate at all of the time. I really believe that if any Chicago area pizza joint opened a single store in the PNW they would make 1 million dollars the first month, hahahaahaha.

I have a 2019 XTrainer as well. Great bike! Suspension sucks so I've upgraded to Beta factory and it's dialed now.
Great bike! But yes... the suspension is terrible, haha. I've had mine tuned by AMP and it's still just pretty terrible. Might sell the bike and just join the orange crowd with a KTM 300 XCW. If not, I'm gonna spend the money on new suspension for the front and rear of the Beta.

I'm down to wrench on cars, but for some reason I feel like a complete moron working on dirt bikes. I'll pull an engine and drivetrain from a car with no sweat, but the idea of changing an air filter on the dirt bike tweaks me out, haha.
i'd enjoy hearing more about how running a business is. i've watched heaps of videos from that lawn care dude and i have absolutely no interest in lawns.

I visited the shop a few weeks ago. Really expected the shop to have a more MTB feel. I know you and your team ride a lot, where Bellingham is a Mecca for riding in the PNW, but please check the shop. Example: Scott recently dropped the new Genius. Would be cool to stop by your shop and see the bike on the stand in the foyer, and actually get hands-on and technical acumen from a team member. Your shop is about less is more I guess, but press the, “a little more” button as constructive critique. Maybe more photos of you and your team riding the local trails. Wall tapestry would be awesome with action shots etc… Thanks for the updates. See ya around.

Our last shop was much more like you explained: more of a "MTB feel" with bikes displayed and a much different vibe. However, we no longer really sell bikes because there are so many shops in Bellingham which are all already territorial dealers for every brand out there. We are not a Scott dealer, so we would not be able to have the new Genius, but they do look pretty sweet! Over 90% of our business is online, so we've decided to focus mostly all of our time and resources into the online aspect much more heavily than our small show room, but I do agree that it does need some pizazz.
We really focus on the side of bikes that most shops don't, and that is the actual components and upgrading your existing bike. We're just a bit different from the average bike shop which is why our headquarters' is also a bit different than most.
