    Love the Spire and great riding! Interesting that you found the 38 over damped, I found the similar thing on my 36. Hooked up a shock wiz recently and ended up settling on HSC and LSC 4 clicks from wide open and I am 200lbs (Neutral/Poppy selections). HSR and LSR were not far off from recommended settings and pressure was set to 100psi. I have not used the shockwiz on my Zeb on my other bike, but I can tell even with my base settings on the Zeb, it is for sure more plush and forgiving feeling than my Fox 36. Granted the Zeb is 170mm and is paired with a Push coil.

    It seem to rattle a lot. Is it the dropper post cable? I run a large by the way having your size. After a couple years of downsizing, I went for the bigger size this time and couldn't be happier. My build is a bit different but at the end of the day it's about the rider and you are a lot better than I am.

    Tor, did you have any issues with the 2.0mm thick rotor in the A4 caliper? The Hayes stock rotors are 1.95mm so I was wondering if the extra thickness cause any excess/unmanageable pad rub/issues. Reason I ask is because I was hoping to run bigger rotors (220s) with my Dominions, but Hayes only makes up to 203! Thanks in advance

    • @peterlang5047
      @peterlang5047 Рік тому

      I believe the spacers/washers you are talking about are for running a 203 rotor on a 200 adapter. If you use them when you already have the correct size adapter, you will not get sufficient pad/rotor contact because the caliper will be too high

    • @torweiland1738
      @torweiland1738 2 роки тому

      Hi Heath! Before committing to the purchase I have to recommend sitting on both sizes just to see if one of them feels more comfortable for you. It really comes down to preference because you fall in the recommended height range for both sizes. If you can't get onto one, I recommend comparing the geometry of your current bike to the different sizes and seeing if it's close to one of the two. That way you can get an idea for how it would fit without having to try one in person.

    • @TheLostCo
      @TheLostCo  Рік тому +1

      Hi Cristoph! Tor here! I think that I would be happy with either size but I think it comes down to what your intentions are with the bike.
      For me, when I'm racing an enduro stage that I've only ridden once before and am not that familiar with, I find that a slightly smaller bike that is a bit more maneuverable to be more advantageous than a longer bike that is more stable at speed. Or if you're sticking to your home trails that you know like the back of your hand and are riding at top speed, then the Large may be a better fit for you.
      Also, comparing the geometry numbers to your previous bike could give you a hint as to which you would be more comfortable on. For example, if you're feeling a little cramped on your current bike and its reach and wheelbase are right between the M and L Spire, then it's probably a good idea to upsize to the Large!
      Let me know if this helped or if you have any more questions!

    • @TheLostCo

      Hey Daniel!
      The Spire is still the raddest bike I've ridden and has held up perfectly in the long run. I did switch out for a carbon frame to save weight, and I sized up to a large after riding a medium and large back to back. But I've only gotten to love this bike more after a year of riding it and have no plans to sell it yet!
