We install a RockJock Antirock sway bar on our Jeep Wrangler JLUR! Then we test the flex and the articulation with a forklift and review the on-road comfort! Next step - take it off road to really test it out!
Hope you all enjoy the video!
yall had a LEGEND on the video today, John Currie. I love my AntiRock set up on my JK
Honestly, with how easy the job is, and how popular these are, it’s kind of amazing this is one of the last mods you’re doing! (Says the guy who hasn’t done this mod yet!😜)
Keep living your best lives and
Happy Trails!
You guys off road way more than the usual person. We didn’t like the on road feel of the anti rock. Wife kept getting butterflies in her stomach on our highways. I didn’t even tell her I changed from stock to anti rock. She just started complaining. I changed to swayloc and we both love it and yea we flip a switch and it disconnects like the rubi but not fully disconnected. It takes out some of the wobble off road. It acts like the anti rock then. But of course ride what you like. Somethings work for some but not others. I’ve had a few of my club members ride in my Jeep and can’t believe how smooth it is. Upgrade is always a better choice
You need to hook up with Matt's offroad recovery and check out his new ride. He may have it done by the time you get there...
@Elwood Morgenstein WHAT???
Never knew what “Rockjock Antirock Sway Bars” were until now. Thanks for the info, definitely gonna need this one day
Qqqqqqqqq⅙
torsion bar swaybars are really cool, doesnt have to be a currie
@@Tanner731 I’ll look into that as well!
I have seen several videos on how to install the Rockjocks. But, I really didn't understand how they worked. Until now! Not only did you two explain how they work. Having Mr. Currie himself explain with situational examples. Now I understand what the benefits to installing the Rockjocks are. Thank you, for putting out another excellent video.
I have Anti-Rock front and rear on my LJ. My front has 5 levels of adjustability and the rear has only a single connection point. When I first started jeepin' I had JKS disconnects like everyone else. Now I had no body role control! Later I broke a front mount and again, no body roll control even on road. So I knew the difference between stock and no sway bar, on and off road.
I installed the front Anti-Rock and it was a huge improvement on and off road! I still have more body roll than stock on road and its something you get used to. At no time does it feel like you are out of control. My off road performance has increased significantly! The Currie Anti-Rock is highly recommended!
Lol i giggled when they said off road use sway bar. Ive been dailying a jku with an antirock set up for years and i love it
How is it for highway driving?
First. I wish you all had used the forklift on the same side of the jeep for both tests, it shouldn't make much of a difference but the before tests were done lifting the passenger side and the after was on the driver side.
Ya we should have done that
@@LiteBrite On my TJ it makes a difference, because of the panhard bars, one side will flex more than the other, but I think you got rid of those with your new suspension.
@@jimhester1205 The front still has the track bar.
@@KX6D That could be the 2 inch difference. Hopefully they will measure the other side and let us know.
Currie makes awesome products. I've used their Johnny Joints for years. My next project will be almost entirely Currie.
I got rid of my Rockjock Antirock a few weeks ago cause I was tired of the super body roll etc. SwayLoc is INCREDIBLE! I went mechanical lever because less chances of issues. But you guys trailer the jeep now a lot, so good stuff.
huh i have no issues with metacloak springs and the raptor swaybar which is just a cheaper antirock
So happy to see The Stepchild get some luv’n! Missed that redhead the past few months. :)
I installed my front and rear anti rock’s last week. Same thought with the body roll. However, I have the FOX iQS shocks, so adjusting them took away the roll on the highway where I really noticed the body roll at high speed. Absolutely love them.
I love my antirock! My favorite install! It's a must have for a sport model jku.
Absolutely love the RockJock anti rock!
I can't believe you are just now getting it done!
It is a night and day difference with that thing installed on there. Absolutely love mine and won't ever go without it!
I took mine off after a day of wheeling. It about flopped me on my side. I lost 22 inches on the flex ramp. 🤷♂️
I have Anti rock front and rear on my JKU and I love it on the road. Awesome off road as well.
Nice set up. Britney you are glowing in this you must have caught up on sleep a little. Stay safe and healthy. be a little crazy though.
Very good explanation on how this works and actually getting to see it with the fork lift!!
While you're in Sand Hollow, maybe do a Collab with Matt's Off-road Recovery!!!
They've done this already awhile back. That video is actually how I found light bright
@happydoggs me too!
@@happydoggs that’s how I found Matt’s off road
They did that a yr ago
Yes! Stepchild // Banana 🍌 face off 🥳
Wow not only more amazing parts for the Jeep but a chance to meet an absolute legend. What a day. Cool that he was so hands on and so into his product. Easy to see why he is so successful.
Its fun to go back and watch these videos again and relearn what you guys were doing because now I am still on the same path as you guys. Just a bit slower. I think I will buy one of these because mine is starting to make noise.
I love how it’s like “yeah I like it” but in reality, you cut the brackets off, sooooo I’d hope so lol.
If you’re looking for sway bars and lifts rock-jock has them in stock ! I just picked up a gladiator kit.
You have some great people you work with. That flex is incredible ...what a beast...as usual thanks for all your work.
Well this won't fit on my Tacoma but I still enjoyed watching and learned about the Rockjock.
Ya that's a nice set up for sure 👍
I want one bad! This was super helpful. Your guys' opinions and demo/description was exactly what I needed. I was assuming the on road was going to suffer a lot more too. You guys are great. Thanks for this!
Rock Jocks going on this week on my 2004 LJ!!! Perfect timing!
You exchanged 2 inches of articulation for reduced weight and increased reliability and increased approach angle: seems like a good exchange to me. Well done, great video.
Mr. Currie wrenched on your Jeep even with a set of Dynatrac axles.... now that's impressive.
Ever wish you had a set of Currie 9 inches like the Ultra 4 on the Step Child?
Awesome video...great explaining what it does and sharing yr experience with everyone that doesn't know....no gotta test it 😁.....egarly awaiting yhat video....Safe travels
Currie's has always been top notch in my opinion, bought Currie Ford 9" axles for my CJ-8 12 years ago, still going strong.
I was wondering about your sway bars , that's so freaking awesome!! Much love and respect everyone ♥️♥️♥️💯🤙
Already have the anti rock on the TJ.
Made a huge difference was able to climb trails that was impossible with stock sway bar.
Oh yeah looks Cool also...
I LOVE my Antirocks! I just have the front ones for now but who knows what the future holds :)
So I’m an odd ball. I’ve purchased some upgrades for my Wrangler, but refuse to put them on until September; it’ll be paid off. Anyway, I’m definitely purchasing the anti-rock sway bar once I’m finished building this front axle. Amazing explanation and hats off to Mr. Currie. I only wish his inner c for the Dana 44 was up for purchase. It would go great on the new 3.125 tubes I’m putting on this RAM Diff housing.
Thanks for the Awesome video. I already got my ATLAS but now I am getting this. Love your rig.
Love these videos where you get to learn something and enjoy the video. Win win 🙂👍
As usual you guys are awesome..thanks for the vid .I am now definitely ordering my gladiator in a sport s with the max tow and get the rock jocks...thanks 😀
I just installed an Anti-Rock front sway bar two weeks ago and took it wheeling for the first time last weekend. l Love it less body roll off road and just a little on road. Before I was on a stock sway bar with quick disconnects. I did keep my quick disconnect rods incase I still want to disconnect the anti-rock. I have a 2016 JKU loaded with gear, and it came with the .850 bar.
Thanks for you helpful post. I was worried about installing the antirock for a cross country trip but now I think I will. Do you have a rooftop tent? Does the antirock perform OK at highway speeds?
LB. Like the safer feeling for off-road ! We realise your Jeep is a dedicated trail rig and after a plethora of modifications, is nearly at the final completion stage ? Maybe the next step might be a JL 392 with 'Boss' air suspension & Portals. V.
I put an anti rock on my LJ a couple years ago . One of the best mods yet .
U HAD THE MAN (MR.CURRIE) WORKING ON YOUR JEEP GOOD 4 U AND U STILL ROCK
Looks pretty cool and a nice mod. Looks very practical as well.
Thank you so much for this review! This is what my diesel rubicon needs!
I hate the electronic sway bar disconnect! It always reconnects around 20mph or so and i don't have a tazer..
This might be the perfect upgrade
looks much better whit out the skid!
That's wild you're basically a 716 RTI even with the anti sway bar connected.
And then roughly a 994 RTI with the sway bar disconnected. Crazy stuff.
I just recently did this mod on my Jeep, I have to say I love it. So much easier. Great job and great video showing the benefits over the electronic disconnect.
We live in Big Bear and drive our JKUR on the mountain roads frequently. I know people say that they notice more body roll but I would say I hardly notice it. And no, I’m not a slow driver. I stuff it into turns all the time and it handles very well. I would recommend the AntiRock sway bar system for any daily driver. Also, what John Currie mentioned about dropping into a hole with a front tire and not feeling the body roll forward as much is true and VERY comforting. Then not having to reconnect as you return to the Hwy is very convenient. It’s a great product. I would recommend putting these high on you list of upgrades. @jeepharleytactical. @jeep4-1-1
21:48.... Brittney snorts while laughing.....you're welcome! 🤣🤣🤣😉
how badass to have the man himself wroking on your jeep! i tell everyone that my anti rock is one of my favorite mods i've done, i had so much trouble with the stock rubicon jk sway bar motor i took it out and never looked back
How do you find it on the highway at speed?
@@Gordon87Gekko it’s almost unnoticeable from stock, being a torsion bar it still has great resistance to quick movements, but allows weight to take over at slow speeds and suspension to droop
Love my anti rock front and rear. Drives on and off road awesome!
Thanks for the knowledge. 3-linking my rear soon and installing one of these.
That's a nice setup I'm running radius arms up front and will probly switch out my current setup to something like this , looks like it works great !!
Thanks for this one, I’ve been thinking about switching out for this for a while!
Reminds me of when I moved from Production to Superbike with a real shock... 2 seconds/lap faster and it felt like I was barely moving in comparison.
I put mine a long time ago and I liked it. But yes, you loose a little flex going up hill. Downhill because the weight transfers to the front you have all the flex. Off road you feel more confident through rocks, less sway on the body.
Can't wait to see this system at work. Happy Trails to you both.
I Like those Videos, and I think IT IS amazing how you progressed in the Last years.
Excellent mod for the Jeep. It does behave differently on the road and you will notice the difference which takes some adjustment. But like said it's designed for off-road. 👍👊
18:13, “kinda wiggle it”, that’s what she said... literally 😜😂😂😁
OMG not used to you guys with out the race car. I wish they made that for my sammy. Can't wait for Sand Hollow videos. 😁😁
Currently building my TJ front end (78F250 axle) and now, I think I need one of the joints...dang it man...it never ends hahaha.
You guys should just buy new parts every week and review them. That’s what always brings me back and buying more for my Jeep lol. I’m a happy subscriber !
Had one on my TJ Rubicon and loved it! Good investment
This answered so many questions I had about the Antirocks. They were not what I was hoping for so I'll be keeping my stock sway bars... but having the right info is great.
What we’re you hoping for?
@@LiteBrite That they would be a proper upgrade for a daily driver and occasional off-roading. Seems like they are a bit soft for a daily driver if you’re happy with not a lot of body roll haha
Ya there is no reason to get them if you don’t offroad. It does make on road driving a lot smoother but there is a little extra body roll
Curries a legend..definitely an honor!
We have been considering the RockJock for our 2016 JK for some time now. Only apprehension is towing our small teardrop camper and how removing the factory sway bar would impact on road handling/towing.
I HATE HAVING TO MANUALLY DISCONNECT MY CURRENT SWAYBAR.
I like the sound of the CNC mills running in the background..lol
Beside being a cool upgrade, the look of the front bumper now is way better!
Hey litebrite i was the one on instagram, and you said my dog is cute. You really made my day
🐶❤️
I need one. I'm tired of playing with quick disconnects
On my JK I’ve been running factory rear (with extended links of course), and just no front sway bar. Seeing this video actually makes me want to swap to anti rocks front and rear.
You will actually be in better control while rock crawling that without sway bars. Plus the added benefit of less body roll on Hwy is always more comfortable and controllable. You won’t be disappointed.
Thanks so much to you guys and Currie for doing this! I've been looking into this myself, and there is sooo much "internet braintrust" opinions and mis-information on this topic. Looking forward to your thoughts on it after you hit the rocks!
Great show guys! See you in Sand Hollow! Thumbs up!
Say hi to matts off-road recovery
Fun times guys....
That Jeep is epic
Finally! Was wondering when you'd get a front. Also, when's the stepchild getting rock lights??
When you get to Sand Hallow, go see Matt and check out their new Corvair recovery 4x4...
They don't make RockJocks for WK's, do they... Too bad, I need more flex. StepChild has been an amazing build. Your original idea of taking it as far as possible and still be comfortable on the street is perfect! Jeep should be turning out StepChilfdren for the rest of us. SoCal is sending rain your way, Hurricane. LiteBriteNationPlaysWithRocks!
While in Sand Hollow, check out Matt's Off Road Recovery. They're a UA-camr also.
They have already done a video with him in the past.
Hey LB! Can you do a video collaboration video from the first day of buying the step child to now. Been a long 2 years plus of building! Love from Minnesota!
Can't wait for my Rubicon !!!
Lite Brite do you think when buying the new bronco someone should make sure to get the sway bar disconnect (badlands) feature or just get a Standard Bronco with Sasquatch and hope Currie makes a Antitrock to replace the plain sway bar. Very interested in your thoughts as it seems to cost almost $3000 to bump up to the trim that includes the sway bar disconnect from factory. Keep up the good work!
Whole time watching this I was like "I SWEAR to god I've seen them put one of these on their jeep before..." just realized that was the gladiator 🤣. Good on ya doing it on the gladiator before your own vehicle!
@15:20 I was looking at Mr. Currie the whole time while Kevin was talking... like, is Mr.Currie working on their rig?!?
Congrats on your King of Hammers finish~ I've just recently been watching all your videos and couldn't figure out why you both seemed so familiar~ Then it hit me, I served you guys dinner when you were in Hawaii, (Hys steakhouse, Waikiki)~ It was great to meet you guys and sorry I didn't know who you were back then~ I got into your videos because I am trying to decide between a JL, Humvee or wait for the new Bronco~ Love your lifestyle~ Aloha
❤️🤙 That’s awesome! Such a small world! Hopefully one day we’ll be back and meet you again!
@@LiteBrite It would be my pleasure :)~ I may also see you guys out on the trails somewhere next year ... Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, California ... I am now leaning towards a Humvee with 40's ... many reasons, but also that it would be much better for sleeping in ;)
@@LiteBrite And message me if you guys need to "couch surf" in Honolulu ... currently I have a spare room~ :)
All my Love to you the both of you! Thanks for what you do!
Well, I think you've voided the warranty. 😄 You're in good hands though with Kevin's 🍕 cutting abilities! 😃👍🍕
Nice. You should go all out and stop by Genright for suspension 🤣.
Hey Kevin and Brittany, what did you do with the electronic disconnect wiring harness? Can you show us a video of the removal? Did you remove the harness all the way back to the fuse box? Or did you just tuck it away somewhere and leave it under the hood?
Just bought front and rear for my JL just waiting for them to show up
Definitely want front and rear anti rock. But need to get rid of the dana 30 first.
Cool, should say hi to Matt while you are there. Maybe the Corvair will be ready
dayum Stepchild is a beast
With all the modifications you did to the Step Child, someone could buy a Wrangler Unlimited Sport and modify the axles, lockers and sway bars and have a real good off road rig
I learn so much! Thanks again for great vid!
And Kevin will KNOW all about what happens when you dont have a sway bar🤣🤣
and the feeling of rollin in slllloooow motion when some one pushes you ovah!🤪🤯
Lmao
Hello light bright nation how are you guys doing, love the videos!! good editing Brittany, I wanted to ask you guys where did you get the siren horn that you were using at the King of the hammers, please let me know I would really appreciate that, have fun and keep putting out the good videos
I’ve seen you get less flex with rear and front disconnected. I’ve tested it my self. So to everyone out there only disconnect the front you’ll get more flex. Now my question for you litebrite I wonder how this would go if you had an antirock in the front and the rear? It sounded like you guys also did the rear. I’ve seen that set up as well and guys say they really like it and can tell how much more traction they get from that down force on the other tire.
Edit: awe now I see lol I wasn’t done with the video yet
