M3GAN is a horror film directed by Gerard Johnstone from a screenplay by Akela Cooper and a story by Cooper and James Wan, who produces alongside Jason Blum.
The film stars Allison Williams and Violet McGraw, with Amie Donald physically portraying M3GAN and Jenna Davis voicing the character. Its plot follows the eponymous artificially intelligent doll who develops self-awareness and becomes hostile to anyone who comes between her and her human companion. - Розваги
This movie would not have made a single dollar if it was not for Tik Tok.
Someone saw the obscure trailer months ago & re-cut the trailer into a dance video;
you could not go anywhere on Tik Tok for months without seeing people dancing like M3gan. TikTok has 1 billion users.
Not only are the epic rants very good, they save me the trouble of seeing the movie.
When I first saw the trailer, I thought wtf? Chucky is facepalming right now

I really never understood why people were getting hyped for this movie. It looked like every other PG-13 Blumhouse horror movie that has lots of unintentional comedy. The one thing I will give it credit for is M3GAN. The makeup and body movements (minus all the dancing and the wildcat pounce in the woods) definitely looked like a robot that someone could build ten years from now. It’s a little too on the nose with its themes even though I agree with the ideas that kids are raised way too much by technology instead of their actual parents nowadays.
I actually liked this one quite a bit myself. But then again I still haven't seen the Child's Play remake yet. So my opinion might change. I also saw the unrated cut which actually does have some real practical gore in it. Not a lot. But enough to add some visceralness to the horror. Really the biggest problem I had with it was not how it reminded me of other killer doll or AI films. I expected that going in. The biggest problem for me is that Wan was held back. This could have been even crazier like Malignant. And if it was like that? I would have loved it. As it is though? I had fun with it. So this is another one we can point out to folks that think we just agree on everything. Nice job with the video as usual.
Sounds like garbage, can't say I'm suprised. Sidenote: I didn't like the Child's Play remake, it never needed a remake in my opinion.
The Child's Play remake was just ok for me, not good, but not terrible. It's one of those movies I'll only watch once.

I wouldn't mind seeing the actual R rated cut which is supposed to be darker but this PG-13 fluff doesn't work for horror.

I enjoyed it for what it was. I feel like it should have been r rated. It had elements of chucky meets deadly friend and a little bit of short circuit.

@ramboraph4life While the "PG-13" rating did kind of ruin the film since the violence felt pretty much censored, however, I do still think this is much better Horror movie to come out in January since there is an underlying theme of how kids relying technology got to be a bit more fleshed out here with M3GAN wanting not to be just friends but acting like a co-parent. I thought the concept was better done here then in the Child's Play movie (2019 version), in my opinion. Also I liked how we got to see how the girl, Cady, was acting out when M3GAN was taken from her, which we never got see in the 2019 CP film.

I didn't like M3GAN either, so Matt/Ramboraph4life isn't alone. No one can say I don't like it for "just because" reasons. A much better, and more recent killer robot movie would be Christmas Bloody Christmas. That was a much more entertaining movie than M3GAN. Actually, Christmas Bloody Christmas is more like The Terminator, but it still has a killer robot in it. The first 20-30 minutes of Christmas Bloody Christmas is iffy, but after that, the movie takes off and gets good. It definitely lives up to the "bloody" part of the title. Lots of brutal kills with tons of blood and gore. And everything isn't saved for the final 15-20 minutes of the movie. Once it reaches the 25-30 minute mark, it's pretty much nonstop action after that and the body count continues increasing.
I loved m3gan but I also did enjoy child's play 2019 saw both in theaters I don't like comparing them it seems unfair to both of the movies

I thought this movie was very fun to me I was laughing with M3GAN’s singing and being a star in this film also the two actresses for M3GAN killed it because she is played by a 12 year old girl and a TikTok star named Jenna Davis did the voice of her. I loved the acting from everybody and the campiness to it. I also thought that this movie wasn’t trying hard as well.

I can’t stress enough to say one of these upcoming modern movies in this year are complete garbage. I miss the old days back when movies used to be good. 80s, 90, 00s, mid 00s you name it.
There can be gems as I’m looking forward to John wick 4 which should be a nice addition to the new franchise and woke free

I just saw this found the movie OK didn't love or hate it just OK. The character development felt rushed and the movie played better when it became camp. The movie had some tonal problems trying to be somewhat serious in the first act only to embrace the silly factor of the premise later. This movie played more fun when it just went to camp other then that it was just another wrote killer doll movie. I liked the Childs Play remake more then this because of higher basic entertainment value however I didn't love that film either but I did like it.
I just finished watching it and I loved it. I would it above the CP remake. There's a reason why M3gan did better than that. I would also put M3gan above Bride Seed Curse & Cult. even though I like those. Well seed not so much.
What reason? It's tame, it's goofy, it's silly, there's no gore, and has a doll dancing like a tik tok.
I do gotta say, it would be fun if someone could pay Matt or someone to trash the review of Angry Joe's Childs play remake, his friend Alex is way to much like a wannabe critical drinker where these people just want to act like they're one of the critics. And as for the people wondering why this film has a higher score on rotten tomatoes still, I really wish people would realize it's really quite simple.....you don't have as many people reviewing. Shawshank redemption while a masterpiece only has like 94 confirmed reviews, M3gan has 250 reviews. It's all about the numbers, not the bias woke politics of wannabe critics.
I agree, over hyped. Not funny or scary enough for me, gore and an R rating wouldn't help, it's missing something I can't put my finger on

I just saw this movie. In a way, I kind of liked it because I just love robots and artificial intelligence. Terminator, Short Circuit, Star Wars, etc. But this one especially I thought was very interesting. The problem however is it got too goofy at times. And the lead characters were not very likable. I was rooting more for the robot. So while I thought it was interesting, the movie itself wasn't very good. I probably give it 5 stars out of 10.

I know everyone is saying to go watch Child's Play 1, 2, 3, and the remake instead, but a much better/more recent killer robot movie I'd suggest to people would be Christmas Bloody Christmas. The first 20-30 minutes are questionable, but if you can hang in there, things take off after that. Christmas Bloody Christmas is more like The Terminator, but it still has a killer robot that is malfunctioning and stuff, and the movie is a lot more entertaining than M3GAN. Plus I'd say it's VERY R-rated. Very brutal and lots of blood and gore. And the only reason I say the first 20-30 minutes are iffy is because the dialogue sounds like Rob Zombie wrote it, or it makes you think you are watching a Rob Zombie. But at the same time, it has the Tarantino type of dialogue. You could even compare it to Bullet Train's dialogue. The dialogue is interesting, but all the f-words get tiring after a while, and sort of makes the characters annoying and stuff. But if you can hang in there for 20-30 minutes, the movie turns into a fun time, unless you can tolerate the first 20-30 minutes better than me.

Matt the only reason why this film got the pass and praise is feminism vs the Child's Play remake. It stars a girl with a girl doll that's why. People have low standards today you should know that. =P
I'm in the minority I enjoyed the Child's Play remake Mark Hamil the Joker being the voice of Chucky to me was a perfect fit.
They aren’t critics they are activists where ocpcommunications and ramboraph4life are real people with a passion for movies and aren’t activists and aren’t woke
I haven't seen it yet, but I'm honestly tired of killer doll movies. They're kinda all the same, and none of them, really do enough different to keep me interested.
The Child's Play Remake just like The Original Movie is An Amazing Horror Movie
Finally.....I also liked the child's play remake. Sad a sequel was never made. It was different and went bat sh!t crazy at times. I never seen this movie but it seems like they Took that child's ay remake and tried to numb it down with more realism. It also seems way more mild than the childsplay remake, even if you add blood. It just seems like a movie with way more hype than entertainment

I saw the trailer to it when I went to see Violent Night. M3GAN is worth a skip because I found out it's a ripoff of Child's Play 2019.
This was an okay movie, I didn't like the ending.

I loved this movie, the doll design and the way she was operated was fantastic, the girl and adults played their parts well enough and it gives a good message about being responsible with your child. Could use some gore I’ll admit that, and though I prefer the first 3 child’s play movies over this, this is a better killer doll movie than most yes even the child’s play remake which I liked; this movie left me satisfied and I do hope for an R rated release, also that dance and singing from M3gan was just entertaining for me. Great review Matt, looking forward to many more reviews this year.

Hopefully Plane will be good, even though people are saying it’s generic and stuff from just watching the trailers. But I’ve heard/saw mixed reviews on it, which compared to M3GAN, that might be a good thing. M3GAN got a ton of good/positive reviews and it was terrible. But if Plane is getting mixed reviews, it might be a decent movie. Lately, if a movie gets mixed to negative reviews, I’m more than likely going to like it. Not all the time though. I do like some movies that get mostly positive reviews, but with the type of reviews Plane is getting, I think I might like it and it might be a better start to 2023 than MEGAN. We’ll see though. I’ll be seeing Plane on opening day. But I don’t know if my opinion can be trusted. I liked Halloween Ends and I put it on my “Best” list for movies of 2022.
It is but it's also a horror movie as the bear goes on a rampage and kills people while high on cocaine and it's inspired by a true story that happened in 1985 but in real life the bear died after digesting the cocaine instead of going on a rampage like it does in the movie, the trailer is on UA-cam if you want to watch it as well as the various reactions to it.

Well I watched it Friday night and it is absolute garbage.
I liked the movie well enough. Megan was awesome when she was on screen and there were some great moments of creepiness. The story and the other characters though I felt were kind of rough and illogical at times. But overall it was a fun little thriller.
Zach, M3GAN has a crush on you too. Go ask her out.

I'd highly suggest Dolly Dearest over M3gan, because it's trying to be a Chucky knockoff like Gingerdead Man, and even THAT'S terrible by itself.

That one I want to see because I like the director and the trailer looked like fun and it's a different take on a killer Santa movie.
The Child's Play remake is still really underrated IMO and even though I know a lot of people didn't like it at least it tried to do something new instead of being a carbon copy of the original. I haven't seen this movie yet and I probably won't anytime soon, but the PG-13 rating is already super off putting to me but I can see myself enjoying it.
