There isn’t much more you can do in the offseason when you already have a championship roster + your 2 stars are the highest paid guys in the league. That being said, the Celtics’ signing of Lonnie Walker this summer was a great move that flew under the radar.
fr the celtics will be crazy overpowered this szn. Even more if porzingis stays healthy
Can't wait for the repeat
He said in the video that they didn't really make any mistakes, so "staying put" just became the default. For the purpose of the video if he's gonna name a mistake for every team he can't just exclude them, even if he doesn't think they made any real mistakes. It's not "1 mistake every team made except the Celtics." He committed to the video being a critique of all the teams so he has to be fair and critique everybody at least in some way
@ARo151 our lack of Bigs would have been something to critique I think, only Tillman, Kornet and Al for the first half of the season doesn't instill me with a ton of confidence lol
I didn’t even realize Kyle was 29
The Knicks offered ihart the maximum amount they were allowed to under the CBA, so NO- they did not ALLOW ihart to walk. Period.
Exactly
i still dont know why he left to be a backup
@@xP3ngu1nz to get paid?
@@xP3ngu1nzhe may be a backup but he’ll get starters minutes. OKC frontcourt is thin
they signed OG Anunoby for way too much and had nothing left for Hartenstein. They DID let him walk
Bucks: Not firing doc.
Hiring doc in the first place lol
Why would Atlanta trade Trae? They gotta make it work with him because the Spurs own their picks for the next 3 years
Get your picks back I would think
@@kylewilliams3861If only it was as simple as just getting the picks back.
@@kylewilliams3861Spurs are not giving their picks back. They didn’t even budge
@@Jamzmahname what the Nets did make it seem easy now.
Harris the biggest theft in the NBA 😂😂😂
Caleb Martin is a PF and Yabusele ain't no joke
Put him next to Julius Randle we'll see how much of a power forward he is
He's undersized, which I as a Heat fan have witnessed these past years. He's smart and nimble however, and can probably outsmart a lot of the bigger guys on defense
@@deshaunreid7728Randle really a center lol. Randle couldnt guard caleb either
There is a reason Yabusele hasn't played in the NBA. He looks good under Fiba rules and court. He's too slow to actually keep up with NBA wings and some pfs. He doesn't have the athleticism vertically to make up for his slow feet. He won't get much run with the 6ers. Because at the pf position in the East you have to contend with Giannis. Caleb not keeping Giannis out the paint and Yabusele is way too slow.
International/Olympic basketball rarely translates to the NBA. Really, he just got that contract because of that one dunk on LeBron.
The hawks couldn't trade Trae. Literally no teams wanted him and all contenders were way more interested in dejounte
Tray to orlando will make them top 3 in east with celtics and knicks
@@Hereforthelols or he'll take the ball away from all the young guys who need to develop and stunt their development
Trae to Miami makes to much sense imo
also if they traded trae and tried to tank all of their first rounders belong to the spurs so the spurs would be getting like 3 picks in the lottery every year
Obi toppin for 15 million a year is a steal imo
Yeah. Calling this a bad contract is beyond a reach. He's being paid 6th man money, so doesn't dictate lineups. It also makes him good throw-in to make trades work down the line
Absurd take. Obi is a great backup and he is massively improving every season.
The Knicks, under the CBA rules, could not offer Hartenstein more than $18M annually over 4 years. They offered him that much, then OKC offered him $29M annually over 3. Knicks were not actually able to even match it under NBA rules, so no, they didn’t let him walk, they couldn’t stop him from walking.
OG Anunoby didn't want to take a paycut to pay Hartenstein for his deal. He doesn't believe the knicks will be in a title favourites situation had they been able to keep hartenstein too so in his mind, the paycut wasn't worth it. Orrr business is business and that overpay was necessary.
@@rabeechowdhury it wouldn’t have mattered. The Knicks, whether OG re-signed or not at all, could not offer Hartenstein anything more than $18M annually for 4 years. Heck, even if they were under the soft cap, they could not offer more than that. This is bc of some stupid NBA bird rights nonsense in the CBA for players who only received 2 year deals. OG taking a lot of money had absolutely nothing to do with it.
@@MrRapmaster19 did he need to stay a year longer to get bird rights? Couldn't they have just offered him a more lucrative 1 year deal and then pay him more later?
@@rabeechowdhury yeah they could’ve offered him more if he had originally been signed for 3+ years. Even if they offered him a 1 year deal, $18M was the max. I know, it’s really dumb
Paying Wagner max might seem like a mistake but he's gonna be an all star. He's only 23 and made huge improvements each year, no reason to think that won't continue. Plus he lead Germany to World Cup victory at just 22 (yes I know US weak in that tourny)
Agree. Also paying ur 2 best guy in paolo and franz 50ish% of the cap is cheap compared to other teams. The magic also structured all the other non-core players contracts to expire when paolo's extension kicks in. It will be like the sixers this offseason
He will be worth this money if he increase 3 point shooting from 28% to 38%
14.5 million is no longer starter money, so paying that to Obi is actually fine
Let’s be real, 3s and 4s are virtually the same , 6’5 jdub played the 4 for okc all last year
Not in the playoffs. You need size. OKC’s lineups were undersized versus the bigs and wings of Dallas. As good as Williams is he’s more of a 2/3 than a legit 6’7-6’10 3/4.
@@ry_an. He's got a much taller younger brother that fits that range though.
@ry_an. Maybe if J dub put on a lot more muscle? You can be undersized and strong to make it work but he isn't there rn so your point definitely stands. I just think if Jaylen brown, Jayson Tatum, Dennis Rodman as undersized forwards that had the strength to guard 3s - 5s
@@mithrilmagetrue, but all of those guys are just a little bit taller and stronger with good length. jdub is more 6’5 than 6’6/6’7. I’d say he needs to be at least 220 lbs to guard forwards without the size
Pistons paying Harris 2yrs/52mm is hard to understand. No one else was bidding for an overpriced ok player and they could have had him for half or less.
The Celtics take is dumb. With the new CBA they can't do anything but to stay put
I agree on the Miles Bridges part. That’s a typical move by the Hornets organization.
hornets overpaying for a woman-beater😂
Mk in my opinion people should separate miles bridges the person in the player. He averaged 21 pts, 7 boards, and 3 assists. And he is their star players best friend. He is going to get paid. What happens off the court is different but unless in extreme cases (like his which is why he only got 7 mil last year) I think players should just get paid there worth. That contract isn’t a overpay
Exactly
They just d eating and on top of that who else could the hornets pay that money to? They wasn’t gonna get anyone better
The hawks need to keep trae young
They are gonna be horrible for a long time if they get rid of him
Nah Boston did the right thing sticking with the same deep core they got. Why not try one more time with the same core they won the championship. 🤔You won’t know unless you run it back again
staying put is the only choice they made this offseason so even if it ends up being good what would be their biggest mistake
Cavs had hella injuries this season , and they still was a top 4 seed
I think Trae Young is holding the Hawks hostage with his contract and non existing defense
Non existing playoff performance as well
Ngl it’s kinda smart to keep Trae cause you can get a top five pick this draft and some future picks instead of trying to get picks this draft in a weak draft and possibly bettering the team that you are trading with for this upcoming draft
For the Bucks: Getting AJ Johnson was their best choice and had a great Summer League this year. Under the tutelage of Dame, Giannis, and Khris, he could be a future solid piece for the Bucks.
Saying the wizards are last in the east is unfair and unkind. That is just alphabetical.
It is proper english to say, "the wizards are the WORST in the east."
The creator who made this doesn’t understand the new cba
Yeah. Knicks couldn't offer Hartenstein more money.
Why would the Hawks trade Trae? Putting his flaws as a player aside, the Hawks don’t have control of any of their picks for the next 3 years. There’s literally no reason for them to tank unless they get their picks back from the Spurs. Yes they got younger, but that’s largely due to lottery luck, and Dejounte having less trade value than people thought.
immanuel quickley contract is going to be well under 20% of the teams salary after year 3 of the deal, thats a great deal for a starting PG
Sure... Like there's no reason to keep Trae Young, a 25+pts 10+assists per game player, for sure one of the best passers and one of the most deadly three point shooters, Atlanta must be crazy...
wizards entire team is a bunch of kids that got turned into NBA players by a genie
Which is exactly why they need to keep whatever small amount of talent they can for now to get as close to an NBA roster on the court. So I agree but also think its smart not to trade what little they have
Miles bridges staying in Charlotte is one of the more annoying ones
I'm not the biggest basketball nerd personally but I gotta be honest I didn't really see many flaws in the Celtics roster where they could have made many meaningful moves considering the absolutely insane contracts they gave out.
Herro is zero, been saying this forever. I'm a massive Heat fan and I am still baffled by how Pat Riley keeps Herro. Even after calling him fragile this off season there stills no movement. I was really hoping that was the point. I have a lot of hope for Jaime Jaquez Jr on really blossoming this year as well. I don't think the Heat will win it all but they should at least get 1st round out lol.
People are sleeping on AJ... He will be one of the best rookies in the draft and he'll end up top 5 in rookie of the year convos.... Bucks real mistake was not getting better on defense getting a guy like Gary Trent making one of the worst defensive backcourts in the NBA
I wanted the Cavs to trade Strus and Niang for a proper starting SF. I would’ve liked to see us go get Wiggins.
You tweaking. Obi nice asf. Definitely a steal. He just don’t get the playing time he deserves. He could easily be a starter
Mistakes occur when you have a choice and make a wrong decision. What Celtics vould do when they'tr above the 2nd apron and aren't allowed to sign anybody except their own players + those earning minimum salaries)?
Regarding Trae: i didn't hear about any contender willing to trade him. I'm nit sure he's worth his huge salary.
the hawks can’t just get rid of trae young. they owe their pick to the spurs
Were you sick while recording this video? Hope you feel better if so!
Yes the hawks should have traded their best player without owning their picks
Made zero sense to keep Trae. 😂 you speaking facts
Dude just yapping there's literally no way the hawks coulda traded Trae young
I see the vision with the Bucks picking AJ Johnson. Hes 19, Bucks have an established rotation of vets, he wont see the floor but for maybe garbage time this year. Hes a 6'6 shifty guard, with a 6'9 wingspan. Sit him behind Dame for a couple years, also get him in the gym with Giannis and you might have a really good player in 3yrs. At the very least hes a guy thay will be able to be a POA defendee with his length, and athleticism. At the most he becomes a 2-way demon
Celtics didn't make any mistakes, and that was their mistake. Lolwut
Poor Alex Saar
Having to playing along side clowns like Poole and Kuz
AJ Johnson is gonna be a baller.
I hate the Heat organization so much we haven’t been shit since Wade left yeah we win some but we don’t ever want a superstar
Why would the Hawks trade Trae? To tank and get some picks that might not turn into a walking 25/10 player?
Resigning miles bridges wasn’t a mistake
He is a good productive player
How long y’all gonna keep bring his off court shit up … it’s over with and he dealt with his consequences get off his d
Let him hoop
Focus on basketball not all that other shit
I’m not approving what he did but damn y’all don’t have this energy for people who do it that’s in y’all town and y’all see
Wait, $14m a year is a starters salary? In the nba??? What are you on??
The Miles Bridges hate is ridiculous. By no means do I condone what he done off the court but he’s a dog. Overpaid these 🥜
half of this does not make any sense
Are you sick? If yes hope you get well soon.
Isn't this a repost?
Get out of there Trae!
Harris James Thomas Karen Wilson Sarah
Walker Mary Jones Shirley Lee Sharon
Isiah hartenstein is a bum. 30 mil a year just for getting 10 rebs in a playoff game. Same hype we saw for tyler herro. Sabonis is a baller though he deserve the overhype
It’s not so much that hartenstein is an amazing player but he is exactly the kind of player OKC needed. Who else could play that role?
the voice?
Eey
