Great video but you also have to check the windscreen wiper motor as the pins rot off the back of the connector so you end up needing to buy the the connector and a windscreen wiper motor
@@nathanmerry4094 while I had the motor out I wrapped wiring loom tape around the connector to the windscreen wiper motor then I cut a plastic food bag wrapped it round the connector and the wiring loom so it went about 8 inches up the wiring loom then I taped the whole thing tight with loom tape so water cannot ingress don't know how long it will last but better than nothing hope this helps
Had same issue little bit over 12 months ago. The pins on the actual motor had corroded. Replaced motor and it worked. Last week though the wipers stopped working again!!!! So I'll need to dismantle again. Am just hoping the pins on the motor hasn't corroded that quick again. Motor cost 150.00 or thereabouts so so so frustrating.
Had the same problem. After taking the driver's side wiper motor out I did find moisture in the connector. After a closer inspection I found you can pop the white plastic cover off the loom side and after a clean up it seemed in ok shape. Unfortunately some of the pins in the motor side connector had corroded away to nothing = motors toast = new one is £230 from Ford = 😭 Didn't want to chance a second hand one from Ebay. Fitted new Ford one and all is working again 🙄

I’ve got this problem on my van, took to to a garage and told them exactly what it was (I used to do mechanics so had a smooch around the bay and on some forums) the garages charged me £150 for an hours diagnostics and came back to me saying it was what I told them it was but my warranty doesn’t cover “water ingress” now have to sort it my self. Any ideas on where to get a replacement motor from as it seems to only be the passenger side motor available on eBay, also had the idea of maybe taking the motor out and cleanin it up with contact cleaner and alcohol to see if its a short term fix so I can get it back on the road. Do think ford should have a recall for this as it’s a essential part of the car especially in this country with the weather we get
Purchased the connector assembly from EBay and fitted it today Still got the problem High speed only Back to the drawing board so will be investigating tomorrow
Hi, I think a new motor is required. I've fixed a few of these where the wiper motor connections get so rusty one of the pins breaks off. I only noticed when compared up against the new one. Hope this helps
Just had this problem. I called for for parts. £500 for both motors and £65 for wiring loom. That's rip off considering how old the van is. Any idea for a cheaper solution ?
Mine had a band of tape around the connector which I cut This gives access to a plastic clip on the connector which I ‘slid’ away from the motor This releases the connector and allows it to be removed from the motor Hope this helps
Would be interested to know how you finally fixed the problem My 67 plate developed the issue where It only had high speed and no washers Remove the connector and sure enough green puss Lots of switch cleaner and an airline The connector looks a lot better but still only has high speed
Don't know if this will help anyone ...my wipers failed...nothing wrong with the wiper electrics could be found. Turns out it was the rain sensor on the windscreen .

I bought the plug from Allen ford Swindon £35 each I bought 2 of them as this is a common fault thanks for the advise for the advise Rob

@@user-zb4cm7dj8f no autoelectrician disconnected it and the wipers worked straight away....I can just turn the wipers on myself when it rains 🙂
