My thoughts as well. Such a blessing to hear his acknowledgement of God's hand in the whole situation. Fills my heart. Hated to hear of the brother-in-law/ brother. Best of wishes to this new little family and Mom and Dad to be! Hugs!!
Interesting how you give the passenger credit for acknowledging the passenger's religous superstition about who helped him but you both leave out the instructor that actually made it happen. Do you think your god made the pilot lose consciousness too or just didn't notice the situation until near disaster? Maybe it was naptime? I guess all that stuff about free will, reaction etc is just bs and we are actually but toys in some plan we aren't privy to. If the Big Cheese pulled off the landing what's the big deal anyway? It's nothing after miracles like the Burning Bush
@@erichkorman710 I felt as though Everyone was there that day for a reason... had someone else been on the plane flying passenger, they may not have been able to remain calm and already have some previous acknowledgement of the controls. As well as being able to take instruction from the guy who picked up his call when he was asking for help... whom just happen to be a long term flight instructor as well 💗
@@erichkorman710 i'm not a christian or even spiritual but not every air traffic controller would be as collected, as capable, or as experienced as this guy that the passenger luckily got into contact with. most of them aren't pilots let alone flight instructors. sometimes things just fall into place 🤷
My first landing on a multi engine, even I had a commercial pilot license was not the greatest, but to land a plane without any flight experience, truly, it was the hand of God and I believe he has some natural ability to fly the aircraft. Love this story❤️ I’m glad you survived to see your wife and daughter!
Taking off and flying a plane is easy. I've done it a couple of times myself. But I never attempted a landing. That's for a real pilot, and the hardest part. Congrats, Dude!
This guy is such a gigachad I swear. He was so calm and collected. He has to have some sort of military background, there’s no way a normal human being could stay that calm. If he doesn’t have a military background, I tip my hat to him cuz that is a super scary situation, the fact he was able to keep calm in that situation is very admirable. Good job, Sir!
No doubt about it! That's called " God ordained HIM to be THERE at THAT time"...HE was the chosen one for that situation because HE could handle it. My, my, my!
All glory to God. This is one of the most amazing things I have ever heard. The calm peace this man had and just so many things coming together all points to the provision and grace of God.
Nice job. Tough situation. But he knew what he was doing. He has flown in private planes enough to understand how it works. The Dude on the ground is the hero. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
He has amazing resolve! I wish people would stop throwing miracle around. A miracle is unexplainable. This is a man very controlled in an emergency. He is a hero!
Exactly the same thing happened with an older man who landed the plane without any experience. The pilot fell ill and died midair. Long story short, he successfully landed the plane after several attempts. He did it hours after the sunset. It was quite an amazing story. Similar circumstance and both passengers and traffic controllers were the right person and at the right moment. I recommend you to watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/Ng3ULAsAUB4/v-deo.html
yes, very much the opposite, which is a good thing. He was making a quite shallow descent, clearly they guided him to the longest runway they could clear, and apparently was still too fast at 200ft which is practically on the runway. You see him touching down at what looks like about 1/3 -1/2 way down the runway, so its not like he "put it on the numbers", but also, I would not remotely have wanted to pressure him to do so, seeing as they deliberately made sure he'd have lots of runway to work with. Also, the bare feet thing probably worked to his advantage - he got more feel for the rudder that way, and a more gentle application of brakes which is also a good thing. Dont want to be standing on those brakes when you touch down - that's a thing at flying clubs actually, walkign around the rental plane and if you see flat spots on the tires you know someone landed with their feet on the brakes and just incurred a bill to replace the rubber lol. A carrier landing is so specialised and specific... its a very high descent rate, very specific approach, you land at full power with full flaps and full airbrakes and have to put it on a postage-stamp sized square of deck (well not quite, but not far off)
I had a friend in the 90's who was on a plane with a pilot and he had a heart attack and unfortunately she tried to navigate the plane and they didn't make it. I had just attended her baptism. Her death was shocking and so very sad.
Flaps are not required for light airplanes. They just help us fly a little slower for touchdown but not required at all until you’re in a very heavily loaded airplane then you’ll need that extra lift to slow enough for a typical length of runway.
What's your opinion of the man seated next to the pilot? Is there anything he could of done to help out? Or was handing off the headset pretty much the extent of it? Nice to have a pilot commenting.
@@theplaintruth4794 nothing he could have done, if he could he would have done something. Everhthing that happened was actually the best outcome to be honest, i still dont understand how lucky this guy was that there was no wind, the plane didnt bounce, yaw damper must have helped a lot, rudder control is very important and it usually takes around 30 hours for student pilots to get used to it
Oh yeah!! Composure off the scales. For sure. Being a pilot myself, and knowing most people are not, this guy pulled off a fantastic feat. Maybe he'll take flying lessons and earn his certificate? He ought to!! This man did his solo the very first time ever behind the controls!! AMAZING job. And a large, single engine aircraft at that!! I learned how to fly in Cessna 152's and 172's. That Caravan is a BIG single engine aircraft. GREAT job!!😅
omg what time did he have to ring his wife... he was trying to land a plane *He was blessed, may they have a blessed life and hope the pilot heals quick*
So why didn't God stop the man from collapsing in the first place? I guess every other person who ever died in an accident didn't have the luxury of God being there with them.
The capability of our minds to switch off the fear and panic, to focus in the midst od a crisis is absolutely amazing! Thank God for bringing all of them safely through this crisis!
This guy obviously has had some experience in the front seat of a plane. As a private pilot I personally feel there is more to this story than it seams. You can't just land a airplane over a phone conversation. I wish they would flat out ask him if he has ever had any flying lessons. I don't think they want to ask that, because it would ruin their story.
Im pretty sure if you have money to fly back and fourth to the Bahamas alot, you can watch the pilot in those small planes and pick up the bare basics of flying.
Some people are very inquisitive and pay attention well. If he's flown in a charter plane a lot he may really paid attention to the pilot. As an educator I have listened to students discuss in great detail intricate parts of history, buildings, and flying equipment. There have been people lost at sea or in the woods who manage to survive using common sense. He appears to be a bit of risk taker and just listening to him speak he has an innate ability to remain calm. You'd be surprised how just staying calm can save your life and others.
This man’s composure is off the charts. Kudos to him!

I’ll buy floors from this guy. Great job. Gonna be a great dad! Saved more lives than 3.
Real talk
God bless this man. Such a huge hero.🙏
What a story! I heard about it the day after it happened. As a pilot in training, this is exactly how I hope I would react if something really bad happened to me!
Dan Gryder channel.....it's an all general aviation channel called Probable Cause
All on light aircraft safety accidents etc
Darren, you're a winner! Thanks, and blessings to you for acknowledging God's hand in this situation. May you and your wife enjoy your baby girl xxx
That man is full of confidence! What a blessing!
"The hand of God was on that plane" 🙌
So dumb, why can't we just take credit for something without it having to be "god"
That’s it - he *must* become a pilot now. If ever there were a circumstances of life showing somebody what their next move is, this would be it.
100%!!! hes literally a natural
He’s quite easy in the eyes too! Hero
And his deepish voice and the soothing tone just so hypnotic.
Unlike you
Very easy on the eyes.
Absolutely he’s hot!
He has a beautiful wife.
My first landing on a multi engine, even I had a commercial pilot license was not the greatest, but to land a plane without any flight experience, truly, it was the hand of God and I believe he has some natural ability to fly the aircraft. Love this story❤️ I’m glad you survived to see your wife and daughter!
Can't help but to love that guy. Great interview to. Thanks for this
Praise God for all of the miracles that brought these people safely to the ground.
Amen 🙏
Amen
which god, zeus?
@Benyam Alemu amen, awomen and atransgender people. how did you come to the conclusion that Jesus was God?
@Benyam Alemu AMEN 🙏
Wow! To God be the glory. Bless Him and his family and the pilot…
Is it fair to credit God? I mean, he never heals people of missing limbs or anything else undeniable. Even then, which god would we credit?
Amen.he said the hand of God was on that plane.☁️🎺👼💒🙏🌹
Give credit to the guy, not god…
What an amazing Guy!! So refreshing to see someone give credit where its due to *God*
exactly what I was thinking & they didnt cut him off
Hello beautiful sunshine how's your day going so far
Taking off and flying a plane is easy. I've done it a couple of times myself. But I never attempted a landing. That's for a real pilot, and the hardest part. Congrats, Dude!
Landing a plane isn't hard at all. That's why you practice slow flights and stalls with a CFI before practicing landing.
What an amazing story. And for him to turn around and worry about the pilot is just beyond human. God bless this man and his family.
That woman scored a hero for a husband. 💕
And that is the type of man I like... Brave, calm, & smart.
“Hand of God was on that plane”
He was meant to be in that plane ✈️ Nicely done ✅👍🏻 🙏🏻
No doubt about it! That's called " God ordained HIM to be THERE at THAT time"...HE was the chosen one for that situation because HE could handle it. My, my, my!
Amen
God couldn't just have stopped the pilot from collapsing and almost dying instead? How awesome he was in the plane though, okay.
@@DarlaAnne exactly!!
@@DarlaAnne coulda woulda shoulda.....
His calm and emotional health is unreal.
All glory to God. This is one of the most amazing things I have ever heard. The calm peace this man had and just so many things coming together all points to the provision and grace of God.
nothing to do with god, such bigots...
This guy is a hero.I hope that he gets all the medals that he deserves.💕🇨🇦
Nice job. Tough situation. But he knew what he was doing. He has flown in private planes enough to understand how it works. The Dude on the ground is the hero. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Praise GOD ALMIGHTY,! Darren is an Hero ,!! GOD BLESS HIM AND HIS FAMILY! Hallelujah!
He has amazing resolve! I wish people would stop throwing miracle around. A miracle is unexplainable. This is a man very controlled in an emergency. He is a hero!
What an amazing man. I admire his faith. May God continue to bless him and his family
Same here. My favorite part was how openly he shared his faith and explained how it applied to this situation.
THIS GUY IS SO ADMIRABLE, THE COURAGE, INTELLIGENCE, WE SALUTE YOU SIR!
This is beautiful 🤍 I love the way she interviewed him. It was all so honest and real.
A miracle frm God thru Darren,God bless u n ur family too.
What a blessing, to get out of a situation like that.
i wish i can be this calm. he's such an amazing story. kudos to the new pilot
I recommend you to watch it here:

I remember that story.
Me too there's also a story involving a 70+ women who's husband died mid flight! Pretty crazy!
I've seen the older pilot guy and the older lady videos...both are legends. The ladies husband died in the air :(
I admire you!!! To control yourself!! Great job! Thanks for saved lives!🙏
What a lucky woman his wife is. Imagine, having such a man by your side. The way he managed that life and death matter! Speechless, just speechless!
What a weird comment.
Somebody has stated on the news cast that he actually did the equivalent of a “carrier landing“ - that it was perfect.
Nothing like a carrier landing. People who have no clue what they are talking about might say something like that
@@CaptainRon1913 Right….a “carrier landing” would probably have destroyed that 208!😧
yes, very much the opposite, which is a good thing.
A carrier landing is so specialised and specific... its a very high descent rate, very specific approach, you land at full power with full flaps and full airbrakes and have to put it on a postage-stamp sized square of deck (well not quite, but not far off)
Thank GOD for a great outcome and such a calm soul that overcame that man. That man is a miracle to be here.
🥰what a fellow ,he deserves a 🏅 big time.Congratulations harrison😇😇😇
Nerves of steel...lots of blessings and happiness to him and his young family....welldone.
I love his Presence of mind during that tough life and death situation.
I had a friend in the 90's who was on a plane with a pilot and he had a heart attack and unfortunately she tried to navigate the plane and they didn't make it. I had just attended her baptism. Her death was shocking and so very sad.
I love Savanna. She seems so compassionate and real❤️
Everhthing that happened was actually the best outcome to be honest, i still dont understand how lucky this guy was that there was no wind, the plane didnt bounce, yaw damper must have helped a lot, rudder control is very important and it usually takes around 30 hours for student pilots to get used to it
There is a LOT of talk about his story not being completely true.....
"Common sense". Exactly. Stay calm and work through it. No wonder this dude is successful. Common sense is lacking these days.
Flying is not common sense.
GREAT job!!😅
omg what time did he have to ring his wife... he was trying to land a plane
*He was blessed, may they have a blessed life and hope the pilot heals quick*
I flew in a smaller plane with a buddy who was an experienced pilot, this only heightens my thoughts about how I would have reacted, wow!
I wish him and his wife all things good... thankful that the pilot is well
Miracles do happen, so glad he got his on that day.
THIS IS A TESTIMONY , WHAT A GREAT GUY
You are very right the hand of God was on that plane.God bless you and your family.God give you a big chance in your life.
So why didn't God stop the man from collapsing in the first place? I guess every other person who ever died in an accident didn't have the luxury of God being there with them.
This is incredible - when that survival mode kicks in, you don’t really know how capable you are to doing amazing things
The capability of our minds to switch off the fear and panic, to focus in the midst od a crisis is absolutely amazing! Thank God for bringing all of them safely through this crisis!
What a courageous men! God bless them
He’s a walking miracle. We need spiritually back in our lives ✝️💞
I love how she asked him about his prayer ♥️.
That was so 😋 💟🙏🏻🇱🇷
This guy obviously has had some experience in the front seat of a plane.
CD: Well stated….👍
Some people are very inquisitive and pay attention well. If he's flown in a charter plane a lot he may really paid attention to the pilot. As an educator I have listened to students discuss in great detail intricate parts of history, buildings, and flying equipment.
There have been people lost at sea or in the woods who manage to survive using common sense. He appears to be a bit of risk taker and just listening to him speak he has an innate ability to remain calm. You'd be surprised how just staying calm can save your life and others.
You're absolutely right. Listening to him on the radio tells me he does have some kind of flying experience.
Agree. Btw, did they say what happened to the other passenger? The pilot’s friend?
I think he should have also given credit to ATC and whoever the flight instructor was that coached him over the phone on landing properly
