    They missed an aspect of the experiment. They didnt add the jolt to a hungry animal to see if the response was just as quick.
    Also the part making them strike each other wasn't proving anything in this study specifically. Uncalled for.

    What do you do if the animal has no fear, but is also comfortable with what is made to be uncomfortable? Can the animal choose not to satisfy itself, or the expected trials placed upon it? Is drive the question when motivation is the true answer? Remember then, the only place of peace that exists from within is considered your temple. Decorate your halls with adornments of your past. Then relive your best experiences. That is why heaven is a place on earth. We are here for our first time too. #LiveInstead🃏 #TheJokerNamedAce🃏 #TheJokerDeemedAce🃏 #TJNA🃏 #TJDA🃏

    the rat js just jumping to get off the floor ,put 2 different objects sticking out from the wall on each side, also make one of them neutral so that that it doesnt stop the shock thru the floor.
    ,they will 'jump' up onto both equally, these' tests' are dumb

    ok ok wait so negative stimuli is more effective than positive? :< or is the starving one just uncoordinated and frazzled bec of his unfulfilled basic need? lol i know people who are irritable when hungry so idk

    • @fienevandijk7224
      @fienevandijk7224 4 роки тому +5

      The shock is a bigger motivator and the behaviour immediately removes the pain. Therefore, the behaviour is more stimulating.

    • @user-ok2xn1fy5i
      @user-ok2xn1fy5i 4 роки тому +2

      So it’s a positive stimuli, positive stimuli is always more effective in animals than negative because it’s more easy to identify what action caused the response . This is just an experiment on motivation. The hungry mouse is more motivated to find food, and therefore is more likely to show activity and accidently push the lever. When it does push the lever, it is more motivated to keep pushing it because of its hunger and therefore more likely to learn the behaviour.

    • @user-ok2xn1fy5i
      @user-ok2xn1fy5i 4 роки тому +7

      The issue with negative stimuli is it has the tendency to reward wrong behaviour. Such as the animal jumping gives temporary relief, and therefore might be confused a the relieving. behaviour it’s harder for the animal to identity. Even though the rat learnt to push the lever faster, I don’t think he learnt to actually push it. He learnt to push it in response to the aversive stimuli. Meaning he learnt to push it to avoid punishment, that’s the only reason to push it. While in a positive reward system, animal are going to try and push it to get a reward continuously. The best reward system is that like gambling, meaning random interjections I’d reward during the behaviour. This compelled the animal to continue pressing it and learn the behaviour beyond extention. Also the other problem with this type of aversive stimuli is when an animal is exposed to which as this, and can not figure out the are at risk of falling info learnt helplessness (depresssion), where the lose motivation to avoid the siimuli and are unable to learn the technique to escape. Even when the technique is shown to them. They basically accept the circumstance and it inhibits there learning. That’s why positive reinforcement is always more effective and more reliable than negative.

    The hungry rat is unfulfilled therefore he has more drive to get what he desires. The not hungry rat has had all he wanted given to him therefore no drive, except when exposed to pain.
    These animals feel pain, and naturally when threatened with fear or pain will do what they can to avoid it. This wasn't a helpful lesson, more harmful than anything in my opinion.
    You could do this with any living creature even humans and receive similar results. These things will only more than likely drive that creature to have physiological issues, anger and depression.
    If I were to put you in a box and shock you until you eventually triggered a mechanism and then it stopped, I guarantee you'll find that mechanism much faster to avoid further abuse, unless you like being shocked that is.
    ( I could be wrong but that's my take on whats happening 🤔)

      I'm a pescetarian and I own rats, so if anyone would care about this I would. But it most certainly is science. Even cruel things can be scientific. But I wouldn't even call this cruel. The shock was annoying, not painful. And the other rat was just hungry, we all get hungry. It's not like they let the rat starve to death. Sometimes a little discomfort is necessary for scientific growth. If they were using torture or something then I would say that they are going too far, but they're not.
