Why you should NEVER create your Scope of Work by Room

One of the most impactful things you can do to be an efficient Project Manager is create your Scope of Work by construction item... and in my opinion, one of the biggest wastes of time is creating your SOW by room. In this video I breakdown exactly why the pros create their scope by item.
Remember, our Scope of Work is our first domino in the project management process, and it needs to make all other steps easier. These other steps include budgeting, bidding, and scheduling amongst other things. If our SOW is not making these more efficient, then what is it doing?
We also breakdown the importance of keeping your project management simple, and the difficulties that are caused by a SOW that is overcomplicated. It may be counterintuitive, but a lengthy Scope of Work will actually make it easier to miss detail, resulting in miscommunication, mistakes, and finger pointing.
