I have been in Construction for 25 years. This is best tutorial video for a Exam class, the best instructor i have seen. No B.S, great tips and techniques to find the relevant information quick, very straightforward and informative. I just checked the website, too bad it doesnt provide G13 IRC exam.

Do you have anything for the plumbing code? Fortunately I recently passed the IBC , and IRC, but where I work are requiring the plumbing and mechanical now, thanks
@@javiersanchez_marquez We have test preparation classes available for the New Mexico plumbing, HVAC, gasfitting, and process piping tests. They can be found here constructioncontinuinged.com/product-category/nm-test-preparation/ Certainly they will be helpful in navigating the code and doing the calculations, but won't be specific to your municipality.
Each municipality will have its own rules. Texas, on other PSI exams, allows notes, so I am sure that is just what the employees at the testing center are used to. The candidate information bulletin is pretty clear that notes are not allowed, so I wouldn't chance it.
Our complete test prep course can be found at constructioncontinuinged.com/product/icc-g12-test-preparation/ That course has questions and answers we have been seeing on the exam. We do not offer a separate book.
I find it very difficult to locate information in the IRC. Glazing is a perfect example. When you use the index it does not reference other areas that also give info for glazing requirements. I find this type of issue everywhere in IRC. When taking a test that only gives you 90 seconds to find the answer, the structure issues of the book make this impossible.
that's why he says you have to understand what is the context first. if you're looking for glazing in general( let's say opening requirements ) the index would send you to chapter 3 . however if glazing pops up related to energy efficiency (the context would be energy efficiency) then you would find glazing in chapter 11.
I have a class C (g13) currently, and I figured going for a class A (g11) will allow me to take on any project.. is this thinking correct? From what you said the class B (g12) sounds more wide spread in terms of projects I can take on. (I want to get into apartment and small commercial projects) just asking in general, as I’m sure it is location dependent. (I live in NE and there is no state-based test)
The G12 actually covers both residential and commercial. License classes depend on jurisdiction. Generally apartments are considered commercial buildings and would require a commercial license.
If you are talking about the ICC contractor's exam, yes. If you have a state exam you are studying for, you would need to check the candidate information bulletin for that state's test to see which books the test is based on, and whether or not you can bring the book to the exam.
Read the question twice but read the entire question. understand what you Read, before you go on the search. read, (every answer) then make you choice. and when it comes to tables, make sure the numbers are in the right order. Go through every question, answer as many as you know firsthand, then go back to the questionable questions, and the hard questions last. "Don't get hung up on a question" move on. you may find the answer to that question, by looking for something else.
There are 8 parts to this series to prep you for the ICC exam. This is the one that you get for free. To see the rest, you can purchase the course at constructioncontinuinged.com/product-category/national-icc-exam/

How hard was it for you? I’m starting my journey in this direction
I took mine a few weeks ago and failed with a 68% this helps a lot. Plan on taking it within the week.

I felt the same way. It is also best to go through and just tab, tab, tab- even if purchased a tab book.

Im in Mississippi will i be able to us my 2018 irc for the trade as well ? Or is it just for the codes
According to the ICC website, the current adopted code in Mississippi is the 2018 IRC so you will, most likely, use that code in the field.
Do you agree?
If I was looking to become a building Inspector, should I take the 2018 or the 2021 code exam? Will it make a difference?
It depends on which code you are being tested on.
can the IRC book be used to study for the contractors exam as well?
