Top tip for net issues for the first bale. Run your hand over the net over the feeding roller before you net the first bale, ruffle up the net slightly. Happens here with our baler but if you do as I've said you'll be fine, we don't use talc at all and our crops are an awful lot wetter too.
With the amount of bales I see in that field, a farmer would be thinking I'm sure glad I upgraded my tractor and baler but now rethinking how I'm going to get all these bales gathered up to wrap them! Self loading wagon would be way too expensive but a side dump 6 or 8 bale wagon would speed up the shuttling. Ben, you can thank me later for spending YOUR money on another wagon and JD 16' Hydra Swing mower!
Congrats on 7000 subs. I remember when you got 1000. Awesome baler Ben. The more you run it the more you will wanna bale anything. Take Care and Congrats again.
You sure don’t drive very far to get a bale!! Must be nice with to have a new baler with some nice bells a whistles. They can help make a good bale every time.I bought John Deere’s first round baler way back in the mid 70s. Sold on my farm sale in 04. Got 800$. It baled a lot of hay. It did not like wet hay. Would wrap on rollers. Glad to see your new machine is doing the job.
I’ve just got a 60 acre hay farm I run and I’ve got about 5 acres to put a few cows on. If I get going and decide I want to do more I can run them on probably 30-40 acres of the farm. Any advice? I have absolutely no experience in cows. Any help would be awesome! Love that 460 btw. I’ve got a 458 I use and it does pretty awesome.
I bought a new M Baler last year. I must have wrapped that rubber roller 20 times. Deere tech told me to pump brake 2 times before starting. Didn’t work for me. Switched brands of net and has only wrapped the roller once this year. Baby powder helps but not all the time. The Baler tech changed roller in another customer Baler and it quit wrapping the roller. Deere don’t want to do a recall cause of cost
The baby powder wont help it. If you leave it sitting for a few days the first one will do it every time. With or without the baby powder. Every morning before I start baleing i take the brake off and pull the net out of it and twist up a new pigtail 3 pumps with the brake and lock it and it will be golden every time! If you take my advice I think you'll be pleased with the result. And whatever you do DONT cut against the rubber roller or you will regret it!
@@philbindel6901 Yes that's one thing I don't like but I like seeing the wrap turning instead of the idiot light and the bales are tighter on the NH. The 468 and present are a little better at packing but could be better yet. Worst with Deere balers you buying old design for a newer price.
Judging by the number of bales, I think you picked the perfect year to upgrade the baler.

Beautiful site, UP of MI in June with an alfalfa field full of round bales, good job Ben & JD 460M baler! 👍👏😊
That baler is making some good looking bales. Hope it continues to not give you any problems.
Hello Ben, I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work, God Bless your operation. Dieter in South Africa.

My JD 535 slams like that every time. I listen for it. It tells me I have steel on steel when my green light acts up.
When we mow really thick alfalfa. It lays over as it's still growing. Hard to pick that bit up with the mower. Just a good crop lol.
Try taking some of the pressure on the springs. Located on each side of head.
Great baler

Your hot date tonight is rolling in the hay.

Ben. Happy for you. Enjoy the nasty stuff, I know the cows will.

You are right that is what I do too it will save a lot of time and headaches
@@deanransler6503 I use baby powder ever time I change a roll of net out.
Any chance your hitch on the baler is set too low? Is it brand new? Did you get the dealer to set it on that tractor when you got it?
Beautiful looking site Ben. Take care and have a blessed day/weekend.
My old JD slammed the gate everytime. I had my hyd slowed down
John Warren hello I’m Glen Warren I have a cousin named John Warren
Put a camera on the back axle so when you dump the bale you know when you can pull away after dumping the bale. Works good for me.
I've got a 2002 John Deere Baler. They just thud like that when shutting the door I think. Mine does yours does I think it's just a Deere thing
Does this baler have a crop cutter in it like the last one Ben? Those bales look really nice 👍
No it does not.
Man i miss the u.p. are you north of 2/41? I have some friends that milk in carney
Hey there!! I'm right on 2/41! Carney is only 12-13 miles away!!👍
Why did you pick a John Deere baler over a New Holland ?
I would never own a new Holland cause I can’t pick up a roll of net over my head and slide over a rod to push into the Baler. Piss poor design.
His j.d dealer is a lot
closer than the new Holland..
Mark Cornell Not really, they are right down the road from each other

Bale count, hmmmm...Bet that 200 lbs of input a acre garnerd you a bale per pound if not a lil xtra so 215 bales
193 BALES
