It is a great mod, I have something similar but a bit more accurate. the 2 versions of the gunship were the space capable and the non space capable. The 2013 was the non space capable one. The space capable one actually doesn't have the bubble turrets at all and the front area that is open on the 2013 is also closed off. So the 2nd part of the mod actually didnt need to be made at all. Also, I have put the turret canopies from the front onto the wing ones as they are on both sides, and arent actually supposed to have a minifig in them.
It's not a how to if you don't show how. It's "just look what I did". It would be more helpful if you show what parts you used and the building process. Not just try and pause at the right point and squint at the screen hoping you can figure it out.

Can the added door still open with the ball turret in the other gap? Or is the ball turret in the way?

Nice job I would suggest to use one of the panel pieces that are partially studed and partially tiled I think it would give it a sleeker look.
