Just read "The very secret society of irregular witches" by Sangu Mandanna . I really enjoyed it and gave it **** stars 🤩.xx
I can't wait for "A Power is Taken"! I loved this series 💕
My first read of 2024 is the woman in the cabin
I know this is totally off topic, but I don’t know how else to reach you. 😂 I know you love witches, fairy tales, and cozy games, so I thought I’d mention Bramble the Mountain King to you. This was my review for it. You should at least check it out. 🙂
This is the wildest, most original cozy game I’ve ever played. There are stories within the story, some based on Nordic mythology. If you’re fascinated by the witch trials or the 1600s in general, there’s a hauntingly beautiful portion where you have to confront witches. There’s some hardcore themes because Bramble is reminiscent of original fairy tales. Disney will not come to save you. I found it a tad needlessly gory in parts, but the originality of the game kept me hooked. I had a lot of fun with this one. Patience and a good sense of timing is mandatory.
My first read of 2024 was Hogfather - it has become a bit of a tradition to read it over the new year. First purchase of the year was the new Emily Wilde book - which I hope to read before the end of the month. 🎆
Happy new year! Some great picks there, my first read of the year is Ship of Magic 😊
I read Such Small Hands by Andres Barba which was a 4 star read 🎆
I love your cardigan where did you get it 😍
so excited for all those ARCs! my first read was Blackouts by Justin Torres and I gave it 4 stars :)
I don’t think I’ve heard of that one! Shall need to snoop/find your video if you’ve mentioned it (I am so behind lol)
@AFrolicThroughFiction im behind on editing so it's absolutely not up yet lmao but it's historical fiction told in vignettes & mixed media!

We love an overly ambitious tbr!
Overly ambitious indeed 😂
HOW HAVEN’T I HEARD ABOUT A BOTANICAL DAUGHTER YET!!! That is right up my alley, I need it!! 😱
My first read of 2024 was the book of dust! It was so good and fun and highly recommend! Good luck with your tbr!
Good luck with your reading for the new year!
The first book i finished in 2024 was a memoir/fiction called Mrs Gaskell and Me. I loved it!
The botanical daughter sounds amazing
I have read and absolutely loved Lady of Darkness and I am currently reading Lady of Shadows. I definitely recommend Rain of Shadows and Endings by the same author. My first big read of the year was Beartown which I ended up having to DNF
First read of 2024 is Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb and Look Homeward, Angel by Thomas Wolfe. Loving both so far.
The first book I read this year was Til Death Do Us Bard by Rose Black! It was such a cute and fun cozy fantasy! I gave it 5 stars! 🎆
🎆 I can't wait for Botanical Daughter, it looks stunning! I hope you have a great month 💓
🎆🎇🎉 I may or may not have just added Lady of Darkness to my tbr… 😂 2024 sounds sooo good in terms of new releases, I’m very excited to read so many of them 🥹
Started the Broken Bonds series because of you! I’m almost done and I really enjoyed it! Can’t wait to see your thoughts on City of Stardust and Fragile Enchantment
I finished my first read of 2024 last night. Forget Me Not by Julie Soto. And I absolutely loved it! 🎆 💜
One of m goals for 2024 is to read more Sci-Fi, so my first book was Translation State by Ann Leckie. I ended up enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would - 4.5 ⭐
I need to take note of the series I've started to get back to cause there are quite a few that I loved the first book! Happy reading for 2024!
Happy New Year, Ash!! I need a VLOG soooooo bad! Can’t wait to see what you have in store for 2024!
I'm trying very hard to get better at continuing series. I'm reading Deadly Dreams at the moment and really enjoying it.
I finished Twisted Hate last night. The enemies to lovers banter was so good!
I’ve got The City of Stardust ordered cannot wait for it to arrive 😍
Great tbr!! Happy New Year!
🎆
❤📚 I love continuing series...good job! 👍😁
Thank you!! Hopefully I can make a habit of it 😂

Question re: ARCs. Do you have to return them when you’re done? If not, do the publishers restrict what you can do with them (selling, giving away, etc)?
No need to return them! You’re not allowed to sell them though
@@AFrolicThroughFiction cool, thx!

I had a January tbr. I also derailed it myself. I read one book from it last month, and another book that wasn't on it at all at the beginning of the month. I have started a reread on that list, but I feel like my mood has shifted from a lot of the books on it so I don't think I will get to a lot of them. Ones that are for sure on my mind are four rereads which are Plain Bad Heroines, House of Hollow, Wuthering Heights, and The Great Gatsby. I also should throw Ninth House onto there and I can finally read the sequel. Other than that, I want to read Starling House and All's Well this month. If I read another nonfiction I think it will be The Witches Salem 1692 A History.

I've also enjoyed hibernating over the festive period, reading, sleeping, and eating an unholy amount of Christmas food 🫣 your Instagram stories about Lady of Darkness have convinced me to immediately pick it up ❤
Hibernation time is so needed 🤭 I hope you love it!! I can’t stop talking about it 😂
