I am new to working with the soundboard at my church, they're using a Soundcraft si Expression 3. I am tasked with setting up a live stream feed for our Sunday services. After further reviewing the Soundcraft, the L and R line audio outputs are already in use (15 & 16) though I don't see a separate audio L and R output connection (like on most Soundboards). I am not sure if I can patch additional L and R audio outputs to run the line audio feed from the mixer to our Canon VIXIA HF G50 camcorder. If not, is it possible to create a L and R monitor output patch, running the line audio to the camcorder using a XLR to 3.5mm TRS cable and then monitoring the gain in the camcorder, using the monitor dial/knob on the mixer. I also thought it might be possible to run an AES/EBU XLR cable with a 3.5mm TRS to the Canon VIXIA HF G50 though was not sure if that was possible or the best setup, if possible. I simply need to transfer the line audio from the Soundcraft si Expression 3 to our camera and would like to know the best way to make this happen, with the highest sound quality. Any assistance you can provide will be most appreciated.
when on the 28 band graphic equalizer, does the faders react to feedbacks to show what particular frequency is causing it and help you know what particular frequency to pull down or bring it up????
The desk has four mute groups, I believe that to record one, you press the 'Setup' button (just above the four mute group buttons), select the channels to record to a mute group and then press the button corresponding to that mute group to actually record it.
Your video is much more informative than Soundcraft's. Thanks
Analog consoles rules!!!! Maybe you have all this fancy features on a digital one....but if you want to be fast and warm analog rules always.
And with analog you get to haul around all those awesome racks of processing and FX! What a fun time!!!!
amazing tutorial well done :) thank you very much
Excellent tutorial. Thank you so much!

A very well done video....best I`ve seen
Thanks for the great tutorial.
You are welcome!
you mentioned in @11:14 that you can re-assign any layers to any fader to your likings , but you didn't mentioned how to do it. Can you tell how?

Great Mixer
Can you use this board with a telecoil/hearing loop device?
where will you connect aux monitors
It's so stupid that the graphic eq isn't distributed over all the fader on this big version.

it does not. Unfortunately, its not like the m32 or x32
I would have liked him to cover mute groups, but great video!!

how can i send effect to aux ?
Go to aux mix then hit layer b then channels 27-30 are you 4 fx masters for that aux.

No RCA and USB ins for music? I guess you could use a channel for that but then you need adapters for the XLR ins.
can you also turn on the Graphic EQ for a monitor mix?
Orlando Reyes yes that is possible also
how to use matrix out
On the FX you mentioned "one at a time" I dont believe that's true. One should be able to utilize multiple effects simultaneous. Please elaborate.
13:13 but you don't know what freq you adjust.
you don't need to when you can use your ears ;)
Yes, you do...the faders are labeled with the hi and low eq bands they control
Yeah use your ears, you I’ll get use to it
how meny dolar?
how many out puts
Hi Abel,
There are 16 physical xlr outputs on the rear of the console. 15 and 16 are dedicated to your LR outputs.
have no audio in this vid
the achem, fat channel, as some manufacturers call it....lmao i love it
Mouth noise is very much disgusting, take care.
