Don't waste your money on the 35$ fan. It does absolutely nothing. You cant feel any difference if the fan is on or off. I mounted a 10$ fan on the wall a few feet above the heater and angle is slightly downward and it works perfect. It will blow the heat around and heat up my 24 by 24 garage evenly.
eco fan works better and uses no power to run it . I have my parents old one from the house in PA that I grew up with and I am 70 years old . You can buy them on ebay but they are not made as well but still work . I bought one since i did not feel like driving all the way back there to get the other 2 right now
buy the eco fan no electric needed you can get them on ebay . My rolliing cabinet one can heat my unfinished basement which is 30feet by 98 feet long from 50 to 61 degrees in just over an hour and that is with my eco fan in front of it on a piece of concrete block
where did you get you get your install kit . I also want to put a tank fuel gage . I have my eco fan I want to put on a block in front of the heater . I also have the cabinet rolling propaner neater by dyna glo and use my eco fan in front to blow the heat out into the room . I just put a piece of concrete block under the eco fan to raise it up . I lucked out there was a guy at the flea market selling them for 20 and 25 dollars brand new in the box unused and unopened . I have the portable heaters also . Epic ice storm was the test for the rolling heater since we were without power for 10 days here in VA , Only electric and propane available here
That can definitely happen when using the heater on highest setting for an extended period of time. I'll be doing a video about that soon. There are ways around it and I'll explain in that video. Even so, you can see it will work on a 20lb tank.
Yeah the thermostat settings are arbitrary and don't correlate with any specific temperature. So its really difficult to figure out where to set it at Its one of those things that I just want to set it and forget it, move on to whatever I'm doing in the garage without having to pay attention to the heater to make sure its doing its job. I'm sure it works, but it would take some time to figure it out. Good luck! I just set mine on and adjust when I feel like it.

Is it hot around the heater itself ? We have prebuilt wooden shelves and I wanted to mount it to the front of the shelf on the 2x4 legs or place it on the shelf. We really would only run it when it gets extremely cold in the garage because the ceiling above it has water pipes that froze last year even with insulation

Thanks! Yeah it should work just fine! Just make sure you have the fittings shown at 8:50 that will fit your heater and the regulator hose. And double check your regulator hose is rated between 11-14 W.C. pressure and you're golden

Nope, that will be the thermocouple's job. It shuts off the gas when its not hot enough. Thats also why you have to hold down the prime when starting. You can let go when the thermocouple gets enough heat. If the flame goes out, the thermocouple senses heat loss and turns off the gas automatically. Its a safety feature for exactly the reason it was needed; so an enclosed area won't accidently fill with gas.
I catch a quick whiff after just lighting it. But it goes away quickly. You can check for leaks by spraying soapy water on your connections and see if they bubble up. Otherwise there should be no smells.
Hey bro don't waste your money on fan The fan don't work very good in those you need to put a like an oscillating fan over top of it about a foot and let it blow back and forth That's the best way to do it cuz the little fans inside just ain't worth the shit I promise you
I get what you're saying now. All five ceramic bricks will light up every time whether its on 1 or 5. The number on the dial (1-5) doesn't correspond with the number of bricks that are used for heat. It just shows different levels of control, but what the amount is per number is unknown. IMO its just a dummy switch that control gas flow, similar to a gas grill.
The older style without a thermostat is what you're thinking about. I've got one and depending on what number it's set at,that's the number of bricks that will burn.
It depends on what you want. The Red flame is radiant, is it heats the items in the room. The sun gives off radiant heat so it would feel similar to that. The blue flame is convection, so it heats the air. The reason I went with radiant is because my garage isn't insulated. If I heated the air with convection, my garage wouldn't heat up as well because the hot air rises and it would go right out the roof. I wanted the heat to be more ground level, and radiant will do that better in an uninsulated space.

Yeah I've seen heating elements get converted from propane to NG and back again. You're going to need a spring kit and different size jets. I recommend getting the brand name and model number and then searching for a propane conversion kit specifically for it.

Yes, this heater has thermostatic control. Once the sensor on the heater detects the room is warm enough it reduces BTU. It cycles back on once temperature drops a certain amount.
What is the temp range of the settings? I have a 1200 sq ft basement and it gets up to almost 80 degrees on setting 1 and i have to manually turn it offbecause the thermostat isnt working. I have the higher end dual fuel model running off propane, has thermostat built in. Od like to figure out a fix so i can leave it on overnight and not waste a bunch of propane with it being constantly on. Thanks
Great question! I have no idea. The instructions didn't say what each setting number equals in temperature. I haven't had mine in a hot enough room to activate the thermostat yet. My garage is uninsulated so it usually runs the whole time I'm in there. I wish I knew the answer for you!

question why is the inside of the street elbow on the gas line inside concave .When I was putting mine together I noticed that and would it make a difference
That won't make a difference. I'm sure thats from the manufacturing process. They drill it from both directions, what you're seeing is the end of the drill bit or machining tool.

The winds today were cold so I was down in the basement working on a project and turned it on and with only on 1 it got so hot down there with eco fan and that I had to take my light jacket off . I looked and it was 70 degrees . I have it sitting up on concrete blocks off the floor 2 feet and the block for the eco fan in front of it .
I have the 18 btu one and the guy gave me the hose but no adapter to hook it to the heater . I want t keep the rolling one upstair incase we get a bad storm and heat goes out . Can you just buy those 2 pieces you put on your heater in the hardware store . I forgot he gave me the hose until i opened the box again and looked inside it and on the bottom was the hose
Yes you can, I would bring the hose to the hardware store and test fit the fittings that you would need. Even having the heater in your vehicle so you can check the flared piece that attaches there before yo leave the store.

It takes me over 30 minutes to get there one way so will be taking hose with me . Thank you . I am also going to check midway propane to see if they will sell me a 50 lb tank . They say they sell them . 50 lb tank will be easy to disconnect and and haul in my truck .

Does the mr buddy regulator kit allow it to not run off 100# tank? Red tag said only run 100# tanks?

yep, its been working great with a box fan behind it. I agree, I don't see a reason for the tiny fan they designed to go with it.

Is it noisy
You can hear that is on and running, but its not loud.
The metal creaks when heating up and cooling down. Once its running for a few mins and gets up to temp it should be quiet.
