R15 5997 at 0:15 was converted to a office trailer at 240th Street Shop in 1981, in use through the 1990s. Being repainted in the bright red thought this was 1965 and not 1981, as some R12/R14/R15s and R17s got the red in '65. The clean white R17s on the shuttle were newly painted in February 1982. This was right after Ron Howard shot 'Night Shift' that winter with the R17s dirty with beige interiors and orange doors during the shoot. The clean white R17s appear again in 'Heartburn' by Mike Nichols (1986). The blue interior the shuttle R17s when done in all white was the original R29/R33/R36 ML interior (and also used on the Kennedy Class ferries). It is presently on R16 6387. R30 8408 was later blown up in Die Hard. The lunch counter at Mott Avenue is still open, being under lease from NYCT.
I had to pause the video and just look at the photo @4:17. I was not even 2 years old yet however I feel so much of a connection to old images like this from that time. I truly believe I am in the incorrect time. I feel like I was born too late.. I always had a strong feeling as if i was supposed to experience the late 1960s, all of the 1970s and early 1980s. I always loved the trains and busses of that era since I was able to remember. I wish I could walk up to that woman and sit down and have a conversation with her.
That's a good suggestion. I shy away from well known pieces or music because of the clash between people's pre-existing image of what the music represents and the images I present is too disorienting.
Hey how you doing, I have a question for you. Do you have any footage of anything of the (C) train that used to go Bedford Park in the Bronx on the IND Concourse Line until March 1998 and do you have more of the Redbirds on the (6) on the Pelham line from both of the late 80’s and entire 1990’s.
There are some real gems in here. Thank you for posting!
The music is just right for this video show, but this song caught a faster beat toward the end.

Do you see what I see?! BMT 11 front Rollsign at 11:52 - 11:54. That route sign used to ride on Former Myrtle Avenue Elevated Lines
