Hey Brian. Great video. I've been using a pomade for about the last 10 years and it's been working quite well. It's nice to see my contemporaries are going down the same road as I. Have a great week ahead.
Brylcreem will also cook your scalp in the summer, like a cooking oil. I have the same hairstyle and a couple years ago my barber used it right before I went to the pool.
I switched to this style just a few weeks ago. I like how simple it is and stays in place all day. That’s what was annoying me with my former hairstyle (side part, but different side). It helps a lot to grow your top hair for several weeks to add some volume. So if you change your hairstyle to this, take a few weeks anf be patient.
Hello. 1. Like the marble back/wall splash in the shower: hexes and rectangles. 2. Is that a real tortoiseshell comb? If it is does it make a difference? 3. How often do you go to the hair salon? 4. Curious why you don't have slightly longer hair. It would tend to compliment your European / East Coast clothing aesthetic. Thanks as always for the great content. Cheers!
1. Thanks. We love our bathroom. Shower is completely marble like that. 2. Yes: bit.ly/2QCv87O // I like it way better than a plastic comb. 3. Every other week. 4. I like it this way!
If you think Layrite or Imperial is nice, you'll be blown away by the products from Shear Revival, O'douds, Arcadian and Lockharts Authentic. If you're going to try one unorthodox waterbase, check out Shear Revival's Crystal Lake or Arcadian's Clay Pomade. Great pomades.
@@hespokestyle I haven't tried that product before, but looking online I see it's an orthodox waterbase (ie gel type). I do have a product also named Dapper Dan pomade, but it's from another producer and is more of a coconut oil-based pomade. You'd really find the unorthodox waterbases interesting to try out at the very least. They're a good balance between the restyleability of a traditional petro-based pomade and the washability of an orthodox waterbase, while also being more nourishing for your hair. Here's some good videos on the products in question. I alternate between the Layrite Original Pomade and Superhold Pomade depending on length. If the front gets too long I have a Superman curl that takes more than the Original to tame.
Thanks for the great video! I too have a cowlick in the right back "corner" of my hair and I wondered, what treatment do you suggest length-wise? Should I keep it cut real short or is it better to wait until the cowlick is long enough to blend in with the rest?
I'm no hairstylist but I also have a cowlick..here's my advice. I find that keeping it real long on the top and then brushing it all of the way back so it covers the area works well. If your hair doesn't like being brushed directly back then try to train it to do so. There are multiple videos out there that have in-depth tutorials. Hope this helps
This might sound silly and cheap, but I use a small portion of body lotion (the cheap brand like Suave, I’ve tried the higher end lotions but they just won’t do). It’s worked great for years, it gives it a natural look and it holds pretty much all day.
I'm actually digging the Layrite a lot right now. It is a little more malleable than Imperial when styling, but it won't comb out as matte as the Imperial.
I don't use any pomades or gel at all, I actually use a little bit of hairspray when I comb my hair.. I shower everyday but I don't shampoo my hair every day, I shampoo my hair once maybe twice a week, I just rinse it with water the rest of the days.. hair products are too damaging for the hair, especially very thin hair like mine.. and the hair already produces natural oils that protect it.. when I shampoo every day, those natural oils get stripped and it causes damage..
I will give u some advice.dont towel dry ur hair.why?when ur hair is wet its volunerable.it breaks and fall more easy.since u have thin hair stop doing it. I also advice u to use a volume powder after drying and then use a matt product. Both will give ur more texture, volume and thicker hair. Since u have some gaps in ur hairline u can use a little enhancement to complete the look and fill it up. Succes!
It's a decent hair style but honest to God, unless you work in a conservative company, that hair style is way too formal and makes you look 10 years older.

Just a splash of rogaine :) It has worked incredibly well for 12 years.
groom and clean. i'm old skool
Blumann, lockhart, Morris motley, and odouds.
Come man layrite is old skool lol. Like suavecito.
The classic style is timeless

EXCELLENT VIDEO. YOU DID A FABULOUS JOB. SIMPLE AND EASY.
Scrolled through some of your older videos, your skin has "glowed up" as they say. Also your voice would be great for reading books.

What do you mean with grow your top hair
@@Lucas-oc3hg the hair on the top of your head needs to be of decent length, while keeping the sides short.
@@Lucas-oc3hg make sure it’s longer and a bit thicker, otherwise it’s not heavy enough to stay down -asian with hair stiffer than metal wires 😭

That's why I can't really use American Crew--my hair will have a slight wave in the front and I prefer it to be straight.

Too funny.

Love layrite.
Cool!

Looks great on you, good video. How often do you cut your hair?
Thanks, George. Generally get my hair cut every other week. Unless I need to look sharp for something in between.
Can you do a haircut vid?
How often do you get a hair cut?
I've heard from the hairdressers and doctors that the substance mustn't touch the scalp and the roots because it's bad for you and causes hairloss.
Seeing your shower now - could you do another house tour?
For sure. Once we get a bit more furniture it is definitely on tap. Have you seen the 360 studio tour?
Looking good, ReviewBrah........wait, wrong channel.
😂
Is it just me or does your hair look better natural, i.e. without any styling or product or combing?
It's you. I prefer it to sit in place neatly. :)
Some will say towel drying like that is not good for your hair as it tugs and pulls on it. You wanna pat it down more or less
I'm pretty gentle when I do it.

Brian is hot. Sorry. I know you are spoken for..just sayin.
Haha. You're very kind.
That's OK, I agree ; )
Why do u need so much products
Do not dry your hair like that, pat it dry.
It's a decent hair style but honest to God, unless you work in a conservative company, that hair style is way too formal and makes you look 10 years older.
I actually disagree. When I look at photos of myself with it shaggier, I think I look a lot older.
