VIDEO INTRODUCTION: On 1 st of June of 2023, the United States of America was expected to default on its debt!!! and after a long debate of whether they will or they will not, finally the United States has now suspended its debt ceiling and prevented default!! and while most people might think the US default problem is over, what we fail to see is that this is a very very big indicator of the US dollar weakening, and the fact that the US economy is not far from breaking down!!
in fact, if you look at their debt to GDP ratio, while 77% of Debt of GDP is considered to be the limit of safety for Debt to GDP ratio, India stands at 83%, UK stands 99% and US stands at 134%
and if you look at this graph, this is the highest debt to GDP ratio US has ever touched in the past 150 years and today its more than the times of great depression, both the world wars and even covid!! and every time they reached the debt ceiling they have increased it further!!!
and they have increased the debt ceiling not once not twice for the 78 times since the 1960s!!
So even though the US got away again, with Russian aggression, Chineese power and the India's fast-growing influence, one day United states will default!! and when they do, it will not just shake the world economy but will also be a pivotal moment in the world history which might result in a shift of power!!
So as students of business, it is very very important to study this macroeconomic situation, because this moment will affect everything starting from, world powers to the stock market to every single commodity in the international market!!!
So in this episode, let's try to understand,
What the hell is a debt ceiling?
Why is so important in the context of US?
What happens when a country violates its debt ceiling?
and in the next 10 years, if the US defaults, how will affect the world economy?

In light of the ongoing global economic crisis, it is crucial for everyone to prioritize investing in diverse sources of income that are not reliant on the government. This includes exploring opportunities in stocks, gold, silver, and digital currencies. Despite the challenging economic situation, it remains a favorable time to consider these investments.
Despite utilizing the correct strategies and possessing the right assets, there can still be variations in the investment returns among different investors. It is important to acknowledge that experience plays a crucial role in investment success. Personally, I realized the significance of this and sought the guidance of a market analyst, which enabled me to substantially grow my account to nearly a million. I strategically withdrew my profits just before the market correction, and now I am taking advantage of the buying opportunities once again.

Some economists have projected that both the U.S. and parts of Europe could slip into a recession for a portion of 2023. A global recession, defined as a contraction in annual global per capita income, is more rare because China and emerging markets often grow faster than more developed economies. Essentially the world economy is considered to be in recession if economic growth falls behind population growth.

It is a government inspired crisis this time. The Treasury have to sell Bonds to cover the trade imbalance and the government spending imbalance. In order to sell them they have to raise interest rates and the old long-term, low risk, low interest, AAA investments (including Treasury Bonds), held by the banks (often due to government regulatory policy), become next to worthless. The next milestone is the 15th when the government issue a new batch of Bonds. I have approximately 350k stagnant in my portfolio that needs growth. US will not default, but the way Indian political parties are offering unsustainable non-merit freebies to win elections, the Indian economy will certainly feel its impact in the future.
I don’t think so because if freebies are given people would spend buying something whereas if government keeps the money rich will be richer poor will get poorer in my freebies are kind of indirect tax collection
@@Nd-jr6ow I also think that economics isn't your forte. Non-merit freebies are revenue expenses for the government for recent e.g. Karnataka estimated cost of freebies is more than yes, it's more than their last CAPEX outlay. Even in this video, you can see how the US pushed itself into the corner by doling out cash to people.
Another thing is that it creates inflation, Western countries have seen it during the pandemic.
And I don't know how did you end up with this poor-get-poor and rich-get-rich theory? In a growing economy like India, just see the last thirty years of data, so many people have moved up the ladder.
@@Nd-jr6ow That's applicable when govt's budget is in surplus and not deficit. The BRICS should be held strong and we need the rupee to be more valued. This US dollar is not damaging them but other countries.
It cannot happen until china change their way
Once BRICS currency is released, I believe a lot of dollar from BRICS nations will be converted to BRICS currency as reserves. It all depends on the magnitude of conversion. Big think is a great example of how the media should play it's role in India's Sustainable Economic growth. We need more discussions and actions around our visions of India and it's high time to reinvent the wheel.
One of the best and simplest explanation. Thank you for putting this together.
this was ana amazing video, can i also request you to cover some of the aspects of Australian economy and how is it performing and what could be the challenges it is facing
Wow US people are living so happily due to their debt. This is why someone should know the consequences before spending luxury in their country or even a home.
Wdym, US citizens are facing a major cost of living crisis as well, the top 1% of America are the ones profiting and buying luxury goods.
Living happily? Not at all. Cost of living is through the roof.
@@rohan7969yup. All the 31 trillion dollars of debt is owed to them..
The US was sporting inflation. Now no one is taking that, and all this inflation is rerouting back to US shores. No wonder.

If they keep increasing the debt ceiling, y is there any ceiling at all 🤦
Very soon, The same situation will arrive in Karnataka too. 2000₹*1cr= ₹2000cr p/m*12=24,000cr(for one scheme)
200 unit electricity free
1.8cr household electricity connections in Karnataka
₹1600*1.8cr=2880 cr per month *12= 34,000cr(30,000cr average) free travel for women+unemployment allowences+10kg rice per head(this scheme is driven by central govt) all 5 schemes costs around 70,000-80,000 cr per year. If this schemes runs for 5 years burden increases to 3.5 lakh cr to 4 lakh cr. Interest 30,000cr per year(average)* 5 years=1.5 lakh cr. Total burden 4 lakh cr+1.5 lakh cr= 6 lakh cr. Existing debt 2.75 lakh cr. What will they do for health, education, irrigation, infrastructure?
Please make a video on this dooms day guarantees
They will push the state into debts and give that state to the BJP govt in the next elections which is very difficult to clear the debts of the previous government. And they portray that the BJP govt is not working.....

Yours is the best Indian channel on UA-cam hands down. Crazy how much effort you put into each video. Cheers Ganesh🤝
You are one of the best Indian content creator. The way you explain macroeconomic topics are easily understandable. Take a bow 🙇 Thanks a lot
This is the very first time I understood all the economic terms and also understood so many things about economy and how does it work. And I am very much thankful to you for this. It's not just widening my way of thinking but also developing interests towards this. I've always understood the "hegemony" of USA but never got to know on this level (such as economically). Again thanks a lot.😊
Great very good explanation, thanks for sharing

Great video as always. Can you make a video about the viability of a Brics currency or about Brics as an economic block?
China is forcefully pushing its own currency yuan/Renminbi to BRICS and other countries .
China is the main hurdle of the foundation of the BRICS currency. China is not interested in BRICS currency.
China wants to make its own yuan currency like a dollar.
great video, finally i understand what TV was talking about France losing his AA or not and what the consequence could be

The United States is expected to experience a technical default for a period of 2 to 3 days. It is important to note that obtaining debt in the United States typically involves a procedure that takes at least 4 days to complete.

I am from Manipur. I watched all your videos since first and now I filled very unhappy. Because you did not even post any videos about the biggest communal riot in the history of Manipur😢. So please make sure you never miss any important chapter of the country. It is to important to know who is right or who is wrong (meitei or kuki). So please give us a case study about this. Please don't ignore us😢
Dear Ro bin
Its really heart wrenching whenever losses to human life and savings is observed. The worst part is choosing a side in conflict. If it was so easy the world have been a better place. Violence is not the answer to resolution in long term. Stay strong and i wish you all the best

Like any other ponzy scheme, the federal reserve note (i.e. debt note) will inevitably collapse in time. A debt-based economy is unsustainable and its fiat currency always seeks and finds its intrinsic value, that is zero.

The wisest thing that should be on everyone mind currently should be to invest in different streams of income that doesn't depend on government paycheck, especially with the current economic crisis around the world. This is still a time to invest in Stocks, Forex and Digital currencies.
Investments are stepping stone to success. Investing is what create wealth.

I literally liked this video as this would summarize lot of inter twined concepts regarding the money-cash flow with most of the factors associated. However, I still have some concerns regarding the new initiative to not include $$$ as a mediation.
* Major task would be how to avoid major involvement of dollar by not a direct dip in the usage. To avoid consecutive/ alternative chain reactions
* It is obvious that US would get disappointed the moment when it realizes the succession of non-dollar transaction. This needs to be addressed very carefully to maintain the diplomatic relations (and some under going negotiations) so as to avoid any further bottle neck situation that (US) would create involving many other countries. This includes but not limited to Exports-Imports (directly & Indirectly), inter country transportations etc,.
*Not to miss, we need address the country internal situation in-detail so it would not create any major ruckus or would create any opportunities for extreme radical situations.
