  • Want to stop your slice next year? In this video, I explain one of the most common reasons why golfers can't fix their slice and explain the one move they need to target if they want to hit powerful, straight drives!

    Hey Peter! Love the videos!! Can you do a video where you explain in more detail the difference between the hip bump and a hip slide? When you demonstrated the two, they look fairly similar and I think I do a slide and not a bump! Thanks!

    Saved! It's crazy how the body works sometimes. Gotta be a good ceo to it and direct it away from "destructive comfort zone" (slice) to a swing that is more "unknown" but works!
    YES, I neeed HELP. I'm at a weird place in my golf game. Ending my second year training and practicing avidly and I've never hit the ball better BUT scoring on the course is a whole other game.. Any tips for that weird teenager, voice cracking, pimple popping, awkwardness oozing "golf coming of age" phase of mine? 😅

    Great video! Will be taking this to the sim later. One thing I struggle with is there are some clubs I can absolutely smash and others I just can’t seem to hit right. For instance, I can hit a 7 iron carry 180-185. Then I can hit a 5 iron and carry 195-200. However, when I get a 4 iron in my hand, I struggle to carry it as far as my 5 iron and I start to slice it. Then I grab my 3 Hybrid and will hit it 215-220 carry average and sometimes 230+. Then I grab my 5 wood (18°) and can only carry it average 210 yards, but it has a much higher flight than my 3 Hybrid (19°).
    Now here’s where it gets interesting: I will break out my driver (Stealth standard version 10.5 delofted 2 notches down to like a 9.25°) and even if I hit it perfectly down the middle with around 2200 rpm of backspin or lower, I will only get about 250-260 yards of carry even with a ball speed of low to mid 160 mph. I feel I should be hitting the driver a lot further especially if I can hit a 3 Hybrid 230 carry and have 140-145 mph ball speed.

    Best driver video you've ever made. This is literally my exact problem.

    One of the best videos for describing the cause a slice with the driver. 👍🏻
    I totally understand leading with the lower body and the “bump with the left hip”
    … but I have some difficulty keeping my HEAD BEHIND the BALL. My head just wants you to move with the hip
    Am I trying to swing the driver too hard? 🤷🏼‍♂️
    Any tip for keeping the head back behind the ball?
    Good stuff 👊🏻
    Keep up the good work

    A big shout out for showing the wrong first. I think it's important to know WHY the slice occurs. And i think you did a good job. Maybe even showing how people hit the out to in part of the ball, too, would be helpful.
    I think I get more out of seeing what goes bad and THEN look to what works. Great stuff.

    Great to see a detailed explanation of what you went through at Portal Golf Club with me earlier this year 👍. Going to build on initial improvements made over the winter months so very timely video

    Great vid Pete. This is what I struggle with, so will definitely give this a go.
    Any chance you could do a vid on hitting long irons? Don’t know why but really struggle with long irons of the fairway.

    Another good video, clear explanation, can you do one on chips around the green as I chunk a lot! Also when you should pitch and run it and when you should hit it higher!

    The best swing thought for me is to try and hit the ball with the toe ahead of the heel.
    No need for massive complication

    Great video pete! I am struggling a bit with my driver. Got al little bit of a reversed pivot. I am handicap 9 for now. And i expecting to get to get to handicap 5 when i got my driver alittle bit more under control😂

    It's much easier to commit to the draw path with a driver but what about hitting a draw with irons? Specifically 6-4 irons

    Great tips Pete, but what do you do if you are restricted in moving your hips either in rotation or otherwise? What can be done in that scenario?

    I have a very in to out swing with a slice... a push slice. starts right and keeps going right aggressively. I wish more YT videos talked about this. All anyone talks about is the over the top slice.

    Peter Finch, please can you help me with my driver launch?
    I'm using a 9degree driver and launching between 17-20degrees. Feeling like I'm losing distance due to ball going up rather than forward 🤞🏼👍🏼
    Keep these great videos and pod casts coming Peter Finch 😉

      Try teeing the ball a little lower, you could be hitting the ball off the top of the face instead of the middle.

    Give us an honest video about how strength, flexibility and speed determine carry distances. Club head speed yes, but how does someone actually increase club head speed and deliver this power on the ball. Can a 12yr old or a 50yr old woman carry it 260? Honesty!

      If the 12 year old is a good ball striker and has the length and strength maybe he can reach that. My son is 11 and has a good swing. But is a small boy and not the strength yet. Think he reaches 170 with his little driver

    • @Vnam72
      @Vnam72 7 місяців тому

      @vanbalzup6481 You've missed my point completely. My point is that physical characteristics ultimately determine total carry ability. This applies to men in their 30s too who are sold youtube nonsense about "hitting high bombs" etc. I don't put Peter into this group but an honest video about this would be interesting.

    • @Vnam72
      @Vnam72 7 місяців тому

      @@passiveincomejunkie2752 that's exactly the point. Strength.
