  • Taken from a five song promotional film that was made to promote Gilmour's first album. The band comprised Gilmour himself on guitars and vocals plus the two musicians on the album (bass player Rick Wills and drummer Willie Wilson) plus David Gilmour's brother Mark on rhythm guitar and Ian McLagen on keyboards and performed "Mihalis", "There's No Way Out of Here", "So Far Away", "No Way" and "I Can't Breathe Anymore". There were additional female backing singers on "There's No Way Out of Here" and "So Far Away". The performances of the tracks in the promotional film differed to the album versions.

Once upon a time my blind friend asked me "Can you describe the heaven?"
I brought some tapes to her and she listened David Gilmour solos
..and she saw the heaven I believe.

I first heard this in 1979. It's still as awesome today as it was then. That's the pure genius of David Gilmour.

PLEASE Remaster this version! This is the one that should've been on his debut solo record in '78 imho.

This was from Dave’s first solo album in 1978 and it almost as if he was seeing what was coming 6 years down the road in 1984 the end of the Floyd with himself, Waters, Wright and Mason. There was a UA-cam posting by another on a different video where the person said Gilmour has done nothing worthwhile since Waters departed which I believe is wrong starting with this and all Gilmour’s subsequent work. I think this was the best song on the album and the others all exceptionally good. Here Dave us a taste of how good he was without Floyd with so much more to come. If there’s anyone who has never listened to Dave’s first solo offering give this a listen and I’m sure you will enjoy!👍

    I can't breathe anymore
Why that is I'm not sure
I've got my feet on the ground
In fact I'm flat on the floor
    My direction is lost
I should pause to take stock
It's a new one on me
To even dream that you're free
It's a tale without an end
But the end is there for all to see
And if the end weren't so real
Coming 'round and 'round again on me
I guess it's all about my pride
I want to be there at the kill
But with or without God on my side
I know that I really will

I wish Mick Ralphs would have played on this concert like in 1984.

Although I said something about Rogers crap...still love his angst....fantastic lyricist...without all that turmoil Pink Floyd would never have been so creative...love all their albums together and solo..:)

Yeah I checked, he apparently used a gold-top Gibson Les Paul on The Wall and A Momentary Lapse of Reason.
The guitar in this video is a Gretsch Duo-Jet. :D
And if that's you in the profile pic, you look like Jeff Walker :D

On a side note look at the guitarist in the blue shirt. For all you Badfinger fans is that not Pete Ham back from the dead joining Gilmour in this video?🥵
