Perfect! I have been asking for these bangs everytime I get my haircut at the salon. Did it myself per your instructions and I finally have what I have been asking for all this time. Thank you Harmony. Love them.
WHAAA????A full grown, beautiful, mature and knowledgeable woman doing a tutorial thats practicle for an everyday Jane to wear...AND didn't stick her tongue out or shake a product in the camera and not-cute uncontrollably giggle when they apply products?????WHAT A CONCEPT!Thank you!!
Honestly, that comment was not necessary. Well, it just goes to show where you are and you are self-awareness and your emotional growth. Also, I would like to add that it was just like the most unbelievable run on sentence.
I'm a hair stylist. And you have some very cool and edgy techniques , that us stylists go to seminars to learn. You have a lovely way of expressing and teaching these very important methods of styling and cutting your hair. I have only a handful of girls that could create the movement that is sooooo important not only when styling , but when cutting hair. Bravo to you for taking the time to blow dry and hot Toronto your hair before you. It it. So many time I have seen coworkers , cut the bangs when their wet and they spring up and look horrible because they cut them straight a across, causing a blunt look. Don't even get me started because if the hair is curly , it's liable to spring up an inch or two depending on the amount of curl ....... Just wanted to say how awesome you are at styling hair, keep on rockin it
I was wondering whether she chose the scissors for this technique because from what I can tell, she has rather fine hair. A straight edge razor could give the choppy/wispy look but it does do a number on fine hair sometimes. I too have been a hairdresser for over 42 years and even though I don't work in a salon anymore, I still try to keep up on this kind of stuff. Thanks for the video!
@@MizzBizz49 it’s something that you have to bi careful with, because if your client doesn’t style her hair with a good hair product that makes her look and act like thicker hair, also uses a blow dryer and perhaps a flat iron to achieve the desired look than the haircut will look choppy and it will definitely thin her hair. We used to use our straight razors for layering and shaving men, lol. It can be useful to twist the bangs into small sections and run your straight razor ever so lightly against the hair while starting about half way on the bang leghorn. Make sure your bangs are at least down too the bridge of your nose, for best results. Gives texture and bounce, but remember that you have to STYLE them. All the great looking hair, comes from a lot of hard work and it’s also due to the new products that are made now. The drugstore products are definitely even better than what we used to sell in our salons, like Joico , Paul Mitchell, ect. Also, new laws allow us to too shop 20% off at beauty supply houses, just show them your license, you don’t even have had too keep up with your dues.
I honestly hate how often I've heard stylists say to do it wet, I've done it a couple times(it didn't make a huge difference when I did, I cut them kind of long at the time). I've gotten into arguments over it because for them it's the easiest way to do it since the hair will straighten or can be pulled straight
This tutorial is money!!! I took the plunge (after swearing I'd never cut my own bangs again... after several bad cuts over the years) because I could see your techniques were reliable and fairly easy to replicate. Best bang tutorial I’ve seen for contemporary, piecey bangs. 1. Take time prepping your hair, decide exactly where you want the bangs, side part, middle part, etc. 2. Flat iron your hair in small sections to get out all the kinks 3. Use sharp hair cutting scissors. 4. Take your time and trim small sections of hair holding the hair close to your face so the length is precise. 5. Cut with the scissors pointing down using small motions with the blades. Love this technique! First time I cut my bangs i was 14. I held my hair straight up and then - AH OH! Since then (and that was a very long time ago) I have been cutting my bangs. I cannot wait to do mine like this! Thanks

I have not had bangs for over a decade. My hair is super long and my bangs were to my shoulders. I have never seen your channel but saw your video this morning and on a whim, I cut bangs like yours. (I also created some layers around my face.) I LOVE MY HAIR! It is a crazy change but I'm excited. Thanks for the inspo and the perfect instructions. Subscribed and liked.
I just watched you again. When I watched the first time, I remember thinking 'hmmm she reminds me of Farrah'. Had no idea you would be aware who she was and that hairstyle that swept the Nation. Farrah and I were the same age. I always wanted that style. But I had that LONG straight hair (to my knees) that was also very popular back in the 70s. My family always told me not to cut my hair. So it grew and grew bc it was super healthy, and completely shiney! Two times in my life I sobbed like a baby: once when I sold my CJ7, and the 2nd time, when I cut my hair off! LOL
You just keep getting more and more gorgeous as the time goes by! You’re beautiful inside and out. Love your tutorials and love watching you transform. It’s inspiring and helps so many!! Thank you! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️
Been thinking of doing bangs but have been hesitant. I've had bangs before but the 80s kind you've talked about. I've been wanting bangs like this but did not know how to achieve them. Thank you so much for this video. I will be trying this today. Wish me luck
I liked watching your Technique, and Ive been cutting my own hair since I was in my teens. I learned this technique from a hair dresser. You can get the same wispy bangs without all the tedious cutting that you were doing. All you do is... Section what hair you want as bangs, Then Pull "All" of your bang hair down in front of your face, and cut across evenly across at the length you want it. Then taking that same hair,... Pull it strait up toward the Ceiling, on top of your head , then cut it evenly across again. Now when It falls down, it will be Featherd or Wispy as you call it. it will have uneven layers.
Brilliant thank you Karynn, I don't have a flat iron and my arms would ache too much. I've always wondered where the word "bangs" came from as in Australia we call them fringes 😎🐨
OH MY GOD! I have spent decades sectioning small bits & drying with round brush my curly/frizzy hair. Decades. I used every Aveda product & brush, no substitutions, and I dried my hair in 10 minutes. IT LOOKS LIKE YOURS! Beyond ecstatic. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Would love a tutorial on how you create your lovely face!
I've been growing my hair for years and now I've got it long and one length I'm bored with it. Also, now I'm over 50 I feel like I need my hairline softening to detract from the frown lines and crows feet! Have been thinking about getting bangs for about a year and couldn't find the perfect ones for me until now! I think I'll be off to the hairdresser to get this done very soon. Thanks, a new follower from the UK.
I miss seeing you on UA-cam. You are such a delight and always so cheerful. I always go back looking at your videos all the time, they are so inspirational and helpful. I am looking to do a wispy bang like you show in this video and was wondering if there is a brand scissor you recommend those of us non-professionals?
Thank you for this demonstration video - you have been a blessing. At 70, I need to work at creating a more youthful look. This was very helpful (from Grandma Bunny in Phoenix).
And a farmer/gardener! :) I cut my hair last night for the first time and it turned out fabulous! Much better than any hair dresser I have ever gone to. I always walked out of those places feeling so dissatisfied. And I used a pair of scissors that I bought for $4.99, ten years ago.
I just happened to scroll and found you, glad I did! I cut and color my own hair because I've had nothing but disasters from hairdressers, whether they're popular, claim to be experienced, expensive or otherwise, I've tried many! I've explained exactly what I want, a TRIM...now is that so hard to understand? Lol. My hair is naturally curly, frizzy when drying it so a flat iron is a must, especially to control cowlicks on bangs, top and bottom length. I watched how you trim your bangs and listened to how you style the rest and it's so similar to what I do. I'm definitely not a hairdresser but I get a lot of compliments. I use drugstore box color, because as always, I've had "colorists" highlight, lowlight, full color, toning, etc., resulting to yellow, greenish, gold, reddish. Trips and a lot of money wasted each and every time, driving home having to buy a color to fix their mess. I've explained in detail past results, how I want my hair but none could ever do it. I've returned when told that it might take a few times to get the color right, but gave up! I'd get so disappointed, embarrassed and upset in the end, short bangs and off color! I love your color and cut, it's what I try to do. Now that I saw how you trim yours I'll be doing the same. Thanks!
I enjoyed watching you. My fabulous hairdresser does this too. We're so busy talking that I don't watch her so seeing this video and watching you step by step is a huge help. I cut my bangs in between appointments and it's about that time. I don't have a lot of hair. It's baby fine and is thinning at the crown. Still, I'm going to give this a try. Thanks! I'm so glad I found this video I been straightening my hair all wrong for years and wondered how other women have so much volume and I didn't. I absolutely love how you did your bangs I'm going to have to get my done like this!!
1. Love the quality of this video 2. I have started blow drying my hair the way you suggest and my hair game is on another level. 👌🏻 Thank you for that! 3. I also started using the straightener at my roots...out and not straight down. Again...my hair game is on freaking point! Thank you for explaining every step so well. 💕
Great Video and well instructed for even the Senior's like me trying to get my bangs right from bad hairdressers with little skill. I have had 8 bad hairdressers, in the last several years. BUT, Thank you, this WORKED. And I learned finally how to flat iron my bangs for the lift, and body my hair needed. I have short hair, and it's fine hair but a lot per square inch.
OMG!!! You are a genius! For years I never knew that I have been cutting and straightening my hair wrong. Your detailed video on how to cut bangs is beyond helpful!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
great simple video on cutting wispy bangs, i think with THICKER hair it's all about taking less hair at a time and being very slow with cutting sections, but holding the sheers down is key!

Love all the disclaimers about NOT cutting your own bangs, lol. Funny story. Many moons ago, one of my clients brought her 9 year old son in and the first thing out of her mouth was “can you fix it, can you fix it?” His hair was bright ginger in color and he’d been complaining to his Mom about getting a hair cut. Deciding to take matters into his own hands,he grabbed a set of clippers, (you know where this is going, right) and shaved his head right down the middle from forehead to crown. Took me a long time to fix it, but I guess he taught her a lesson. He didn’t like his hair long, which was unusual for the 70’s, but he wasn’t having it even if all his friends had long hair. I did my best, and Mom insisted on not shaving it all the way down, which was my first solution, lol. It was a challenge in my career as a stylist that I’ll never forget. Thank you for sharing.

At last someone that takes her time explaining step by step and who is very knowledgeable. Hat offs to you!
You are SO good!!! At demonstrating and pointing out the small details in technique that make ALL the difference.
I agree!
Great bangs 👍

Love this technique! First time I cut my bangs i was 14. I held my hair straight up and then - AH OH! Since then (and that was a very long time ago) I have been cutting my bangs. I cannot wait to do mine like this! Thanks
you could be a movie star with that face truly adorable and you're so sweet to thank you for sharing the perfect way to cut bangs
Ditto, ditto , ditto
Yes.. she could be!! So pretty! Thank you!
Thank you for this video. I am a busy mom of five, and finally got the bangs I have always wanted. I followed your instructions, and was able to get the bangs of my dreams. God bless you. Thank you!!!!!
I followed the tutorial exactly and it turned out awesome!!! I haven’t had bangs in 20 years but these kind of bangs work for me! Thanks so much!!!
I bet all those peeps all 3.4K of them that gave thumbs down on this came back in 2020 when stuck at home and used your technique LOL... looks like you were under an attack by a hater... Great technique and tips in this video thanks :D
Jen Temcio I am thinking of doing mine that way as well I was just wondering are you still happy that you did your hair this way?
@@memessweett4005 It takes some getting used to for sure, but I like it! It's nice to have a more styled look and something new 😊
LOL ditto..she's got me wanting some wispy bangs after I have sworn off bangs forever 😂
I wish UA-cam allowed people to approve photos in these comments. I would love to see how your bangs came out!
Jen Temcio *
Section what hair you want as bangs, Then
Pull "All" of your bang hair down in front of your face, and cut across evenly across at the length you want it.
Thank you...I may give this a go today after coloring my hair. 5 stars girlie, your beautiful!!! And your attitude makes you beautiful all in itself.
OH MY GOD! I have spent decades sectioning small bits & drying with round brush my curly/frizzy hair. Decades. I used every Aveda product & brush, no substitutions, and I dried my hair in 10 minutes. IT LOOKS LIKE YOURS! Beyond ecstatic. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Excellent demonstration!
Anything would like beautiful on your beautiful face. This looks great. I will use this! Thanks! ❤
There will be a number of gals crying themselves to sleep tonight...haha! So tempting to cut bangs after watching this. You are beyond adorable, Harmony!
Where can I buy aveda products?
@@marygemoll6609 any high end hair salon, although their products chewed my hair up. Made it look like I had broken hair or a weed wacker attacked my hair. Switched to another product that mended my hair within a couple of days.
Oh my gosh is that her name Harmony? I know it's in the name of her channel but is that why?? I think she's such the perfect right amount of everything so if that's her name too- I'm sick lol =)
She's so adorable!
@@Tammy-jw2xw Yes, her name is Harmony. Perfect for her! She's as sweet as she is beautiful! :-)
Excellent Presentation..!!! My hair is just like your....fine....straight....I LOVE those bangs..!! THANK YOU for helping me finally get my bangs the way I want them...!!
Harmony is so pretty she could cut crazy bangs and still look gorgeous 😘
Haha! You are too sweet to me!!!
You are so right!!!
She’d look great bald! Beautiful face. Large eyes. And sweet and smart. Love her channel.
You have taken the time to explain this procedure in easy to follow steps... the positioning of the flat iron was so helpful.
I actually wear synthetic wigs but I am going to try your method anyway! You are a great instructor and very patient and detailed. Just what I needed. On another subject, is there any way you would share how your makeup tips? You wear the perfect amount, and the colors are so beautiful. I especially love the lipstick. Not too matte, just right.
I wish i do this to myself but blinking and my bangs hooking on my eyelashes would drive me nuts! You look SUPER cute 😩🥰
Fantastic! Those are what I call "non commitment" bangs ❤ my favorite! Great job! You, your hair, make up Looks amazing 😍
You are adorable and this video was great! Thank you!! Going to try my own piecy bangs tonight! :)
Lol
@@debbiepotter4592 What are you laughing at?
Lavern Reynolds i adore u
Lavern Reynolds you are amazing! I hope I always want to look good 😘❤️
Thank you, I'm in my 70's too! I think she is gorgeous too!
I watched this video numerous times and finally decided that I had the guts to do my own!!!
I love them!!
Thank you for “not teaching” me how.😉😘
Too much and too long detailing....took my interest away...
Perfect instructions! I haven't had bangs in 20 years. Was looking for a new look...they turned out beautiful. Thanks! Subscribed 💚
By the time we come out of quarantine everyone is going to be hair stylist 😂
Why is this so true!
And a farmer/gardener! :) I cut my hair last night for the first time and it turned out fabulous! Much better than any hair dresser I have ever gone to. I always walked out of those places feeling so dissatisfied. And I used a pair of scissors that I bought for $4.99, ten years ago.
Except for me!!😥🙄😄
@@GreekVegetarianRecip -- Promise that at least 100x every day you will thank your lucky stars that the new you came out the way it did!
Agree! JEEJJEJEJ
Thanks! Carol The 7th Decade
I'm so glad I found this video I been straightening my hair all wrong for years and wondered how other women have so much volume and I didn't. I absolutely love how you did your bangs I'm going to have to get my done like this!!
1. Love the quality of this video
2. I have started blow drying my hair the way you suggest and my hair game is on another level. 👌🏻 Thank you for that!
3. I also started using the straightener at my roots...out and not straight down.
Again...my hair game is on freaking point! Thank you for explaining every step so well. 💕
Best demonstration I’ve found on UA-cam!! Not had my hair with bangs/full fringe in 2 decades but I’ll be doing it in about an hour, fingers crossed
Not only do I love this spot-on technique video but I most definitely love all these super positive comments! Love it! Make that money, girl!
All I do is stare at her face and never get tired of it.😅
She’s so beautiful, it’s so unfair!❤️
By the way, good job on this tutorial.👍
The cut is adorable. There is no way I'm doing that myself.
L.p.
I appreciate the education with cutting techniques with handling shears before even touching the hair! Well done!
With your face u could be bald and still look good ,
Bald is beautiful too btw
Pixie Girl, I have spent the last hour (when I should be studying!) watching YT tutorials. Now I feel like an ogre!
Yea she is so cute. She reminds me of a young Meg Ryan for some reason.
So true!!!!
Ikr? She's so pretty!!!
Ahh youth what a beautiful thing.
Love this!! You’re such a knockout girl! Watching you makes me want to chop my long hair off and get alllllll the highlights.
You are soooo beautiful inside and out! I love your tutorials cause you show and explain what you’re doing! And that is sooo appreciated!
great simple video on cutting wispy bangs, i think with THICKER hair it's all about taking less hair at a time and being very slow with cutting sections, but holding the sheers down is key!
I decided that I neeeeed lol ..to cut bangs today 😅 I have watched probably 25 different videos on how to cut bangs at home. THIS video is SO easy to understand!! Thank you, gorgeous ❤
You have CERTAINLY HELPED GALS take care of THEMSELVES during COVID. Love you for it, Harmony❤️🌹

I love your bangs! Can't wait to try this. Would you PLEASE do a video on how to cut/trim your hair to give it the great layering/tapering that you have?
Love this! Girl, you are SO gorgeous...80s bangs, no bangs, wispies, shaved off lol or whatever! Youre just a beautiful person inside & out💛💛 I so thought you were a makeup artist or hair stylist...or both! You have such great techniques, ideas & results👏👏
Haha! Thank you so much! Haha, I am actually both :)
Harmonize_ Beauty Ya know, I THOUGHT so but then you said a few things(dont even remember what they were! lol) that I wondered " Is she both, or did I dream that?!"😂 It all makes perfect sense now....Even MORE reason to love your videos😗
Harmonize_ Beauty BTW I tried the flat iron trick, I kept telling myself "Ok, she said to do a slight bevel turn" as I did it😂 It wasnt as smooth the 1st time but Ill keep at it!!
Don't understand why for the thumbs down. Your technique is so spot on that I feel confident enough to do on myself. Thank you & I'm a new sub! 😃😃😃

She's VERY pretty.
I just came back to this video so I know how to cut my hairs the way I want!! Thanks Harmony❤❤
Whoever did your hair color did a great job!
Thank you!
This tutorial is AMAZINGGGG!!!! I did it and I’ve got lush bangs 😍😍 thank you so much!!!
P.S you are so beautiful and you look like a doll ❤️ thanks for the tutorial
I love your hairstyle and color!
You are great showing , and as well, giving tips on texture with irons. New for me to view, finally after 69 years young! Enjoyed you very much, grateful. I'll give it a go!
I think its funny that 2 years ago you put if there is a zombie apocalypse and you need to cut your own bangs and here we are quarantined at home lol
Isn't that the truth! Love her hair. I don't think I could ever get it that long. I am to impatient!
