Of his graduating class at the academy, he took 1st place with that revolver and became a Washington State certified Firearms Instructor (thats why Im soooo good lol)..He retired a while back and spent a careers worth of savings on your firearms. He was an officer for over 30 years.. I would love your help in giving this to him for his 70th bday.. He was not only a fine officer and a man's man, he was the best dad too..Thank you Smith and Wesson for making some of the finest firearms and for being a huge part of lives for as long as I can remember
The chamber walls are very thick, this must a very high pressure cartridge. Edit: I looked at the spec sheet in your site but it doesn't say the bullet masses and the velocities in .350, what are they?
So I love S&W revolvers as much as all of you do. However, when I recently spent $900 on a Model 617, I was disappointed to realize that I had to return it to S&W immediately for repair. It was shaving lead off of the bullets so that lead deposits came out of the barrel when I cleaned it. I sent it in two weeks after I purchased it. I was told it would take 5-7 weeks for repair. I was disappointed but what are you going to do? Last Saturday, about 7 weeks after I sent it in, I received another letter from S&W confirming receipt of the handgun. This letter looked exactly like the letter they had sent me when I first sent the gun in, but with a new tracking number. When I called to inquire, I was told "there was a problem with the original label," and now I have to wait another 5-7 weeks. They just threw me to the end of the line. Great great guns. Horrible horrible customer service.
It's a nice gun holds 7 rds I'd like to get one for my son. I've got the 500 magnum but you guys are gonna have to bring the msrp down 1600 bucks is to steep
Honest question, why should I use this revolver over my 4 inch 357 or my 6.5 inch 44? Or Hell, even my eight and three-quarter inch Smith and Wesson 500? The one thing I’m actually a fan of is the capacity.
It’s just a option if you want it they make it. Doesn’t mean you have to buy it but I know several people including me that will be picking one up. Now they need to make a 450 and make them a package deal.
I'm having second thoughts beyond my first negative impressions of this new big bore revolver. Gonna have to take another look at it, since I also own a .350 Legend in the AR platform. I love the round, but it is a finicky eater when it comes to feeding the beast.
You guys seriously need to fix your canted barrel issues. Bought a 5 inch 460 last week that I ended up sending back the next day. Hope you guys can fix it without scratching my gun. 4 other revolvers I bought within the past year had off center barrel. Just ended up selling them for half the price. This week I bought another 7.5 inch 460 and sent it back again the following day due to frame damage. Seriously. I spent a lot of money within a week but got nothing but imperfect guns.
I would like to see more higher capacity 8 shot revolvers like the 327 for carry. It's too expensive and without variation. I used it as a high capacity 38 special because of the lighter recoil. So maybe that's an option, less high pressure materials for the 357, but a 8 shot 38.

This is great and all. It seems like it really would be a fun gun to shoot, especially since it's a smaller round with less recoil on a huge frame. Awesome. But what we really need is the model 454. You know exactly what I mean, make it an extra large frame that looks exactly like your " Model S&W 500", the 4-inch ported barrel, in 454 Casull. Make it happen and you will get my money.
Umm, they already have that. Try a S&W .460 You can use .45 Schofield, .45LC, .454 Casull, .460 S&W Magnum, and.45 ACP if you get it cut for moon clips
Having owned a Henry single shot in 350 legend, I think it's a dangerous cartridge. I had several cartridges have holes in the primers of factory ammo after it was fired. IMO without a shoulder or a rim this cartridge is too dangerous for me. And I experienced this first hand, it's not hear say. I have the pictures to prove it, Browning factory ammo and a brand new Henry single shot. Put holes in about 30% of the primers
There's a ton of AR 15 uppers out there, readily available in .350 Legend, and in various barrel lengths, from Bear Creek Arsenal and other manufacturers.
The X frame is overkill for this cartridge. 350 Legend pressure is 55000 psi, 10000 lower than 454 Casull's. S&W could have built an N frame model for this cartridge. There's no practical reason to build an X frame for it.

Are you just desperate to be different, that you'll make a useless caliber revolver that's the same frame as the 500 and 450? You trying to make us forget about the failure that was your 10mm? Trying to make up money again? Is this supposed to be the Mrs's big bore? Useless for defense, wouldn't hunt with it, not really a ton of fun to shoot, pointless caliber... so why? The CSX was kinda cool but the trigger sucked and it was a touch too heavy. Why not evolve the M&P 2.0 into the next generation that's ultra reliable and the pinnacle of carrying? It's just, I don't know if you'll sell a lot of these. I love S&W and I want you to stick around for a long time still.
@@raynichol2477 they do have a 10mm on the M&P frame and it sucks. Looks like they took the .45 frame and converted it over and released it. Pressures are too high and it's no good. You're right about the 450 thing. My bad, I did mean the 460.
I have family that hunt with .350 rifles and the main reason I can see for it is so that people that hunt with those can carry the same ammo like I do with my Marlin and Dan Wesson .44 Mag pair. The moon clips detract from that Idea though, at least for me.
@@MrEsPlace my 10mm is the glock40 gen 4 with the 6.02 barrel its optic ready and comes with 3 15rd mags. With that 6 inch barrel it'll reach out and touch someone, and only 700 bucks. But it's ugly as hell.

Get a moon clip loader from TK Custom. And an unloader tool. Makes moon clips a breeze to use.

The cylinder walls are thick because the x-frame was originally designed for the massive 500 magnum.
The 350 Legend has similar performance to 30-30

My revolver broke after 26 shots. I had it 2 days, they have had it for over a month.

Damn, it’s that expensive? I spent roughly 1300 on GunBroker for my 500, and I absolutely agree with you 1600 is ridiculous.

Variety as they say is the spice of life,and the 350 is going to have lower recoil in the X frame.I imagine tho muzzle blast is going to be snappy.

The 350 Legend has the same diameter as the 9mm I believe, so with the moon clips you could theoretically use 9mm rounds

Tried several boxes too, not just a bad ammo lot.
@@tonkatank045 gunsmith here. Sounds like a rifle problem, get Henry to look at it. Odds are long headspace or long firing pin.

Smith&Wesson does have a M&P10 2.0 and I haven't heard of a 450 in the X frame unless your talking about the 460.
